Since nobody makes narrow (A or B width) shoes anymore, trial and error is always necessary for me with "medium" widths. I tried 4 other shoes until the Merrill Moabs. They are just narrow enough and what helps a lot is that there is plenty of lacing width to go wider , higher instep or narrower. The heel pocket is nice and snug.

These would be comfortable out of the box, but I just needed a bit more cushioning and arch support. The Vibram soles are solid and would be good for rocky terrain.

The size 11 was too small but the size 11.5 was perfect and he loves them.

Fits very well, quite true to stated specs. Well made.

Merrell's are always a winner in my book! Excellent all around shoe!

I have a wide foot. I took earlier advice about buying a half-size up to heart, and ordered the 9.5 in medium width because that's what was in stock. Poor choice; the width was still too narrow for my foot. My fault, not the shoe's. The shoe looks wonderful, great color, stout construction, beautiful design.

My third pair, this time upgrading to waterproof. I always swap out the insoles for Sore Dawgs. My previous pair of Moabs inherit the new Merrell insoles and are used for dirty, muddy, wet jobs.

I have worn Merrell shoes for years. They always fit and accommodate my custom insole. They feel good from the first time I put them on and require no break in time.

Got these for my husband; he loves them. Planning a trip where we expect to be walking in cities a fair amount. These are supposed to be waterproof despite the mesh type construction so we'll see when the rains come...but for now these fit the bill just fine.

I have ordered this model before and always have liked them. I noticed that the soul design has changed some. It appears it has the potential to last longer but I will have to see over time.

very comfortable

This is a quality I expect from Merrell. Great fit and apparent toughness. It is very comfortable with ne rubbing. Fits true to size.

Shoes were nice overall but the wide width was too narrow for my husband's feet so had to return.

These ran smaller and narrower than usual for Merrell. I’m usually a men’s 10 and would like to size up, however Zappos wants an extra $50 to exchange for a different size. Very unreasonable. Questioning whether to keep shopping with Zappos.

The shoes look good, fit all right. However, despite the addition of an insert to cushion the sole, I could feel the tread of the bottom of the shoe against the soles of my feet, to the point it was very uncomfortable. I was disappointed.

Great hiking shoe; this lowtop show somehow feels like it has more support than the same brand's mid-top.

Excellent shoe, but when they say "wide", they mean WIDE.
