On the website, this looked like the perfect Christmas present for my husband. Unfortunately, it was HUGE! I ordered the 2X (his usual L.L. Bean size) and it looked even larger than a 3X would have been. Back it went. Equally unfortunate was that the XL was completely sold out. So disappointed.

I got this as a gift a few years ago and don't recomend putting it in the dryer. Mine shrunk and the arms became too short. The cuffs also curled up. I tried to iron the cuffs but it is so thick that It didnt fix it. I was so disappointed because it was super comfy.

Unfortunately I think my family will be returning the robes. the fit is odd. it may be that the lining is a bit too heavy and it wrinkles the flannel. They look warm.

I received this item on Christmas 2022 and have worn it every morning when having my coffee and every night relaxing in front of the television. Although very warm and comfortable, but after only a month the outer shell is wearing poorly. It is pilling and the cuffs are fraying. The cuffs seem to have 2 points for anchoring to the sleeves so they are pulling down and uneven. I intend to sew them in place. As an aside I had an older LLBean Terrycloth bathrobe and it lasted forever. The seem binding wore through in spots but the material was great. In retrospect I wish I had repaired and kept it or ordered a different LLBean robe.

I bought this as a present. I returned it.... why? I found it to be too flimsy. I was very disappointed. I own the marvelous robe L.L. Bean has for women, the polartec one. I love that robe & wish they made it for men. Nancy

I thought with this warm, cozy lining this robe would be warm and functional. After the first wash the lining stayed the same but the flannel outer shell shrunk. by about 2 inches! The cuffs ended up mangled and the whole idea of this robe went down the drain! I wonder if only a few of us had these defects. As another reviewer stated - if you don't want to wash this robe it will be fine.

Interior lining 100% polyester makes robe unacceptably hot! Unusable as purchased. I cut out the lining to make it barely usable. Seriously disappointed.

I LOVED this robe, until I laundered it--washed and dried exactly according to LLB instruction tag. The interior fleece and the exterior flannel seem to have different shrinkage. The net effect is that after laundering the hem curls up and out in a bell shape. Not cute and not as warm. It's going back.

Thin flannel is definitely NOT what I expected from L.L. Bean. This robe is not sturdy and will not hold up for daily wear. Very disappointing, dare I -say "sub-standard?"

This is my second robe of this type. The exterior of this is one is different-it is fuzzy instead of smooth. It is so fuzzy it collects hairs, fuzz balls-anything and everything. You look like the lint collector in a dryer. Very annoying. Not sure why it was changed and I am returning and wearing my previous one

When I bought this robe, it was wonderful! It was the warmest robe and extremely comfortable. When I got it out to begin wearing it for this season, I found that one of the sleeves had worn through completely in a 3-4 inch square area, exposing the lining. I have never had a flannel shirt or robe show wear at the elbows in my entire life, and I am 77! This would indicate poor quality fabric use in an otherwise premium product. I am also noticing poor quality fabric in LL Bean shirts. I have been an LL Bean customer for over 30 years, but your decline in quality has now caused me to look to other sources as a first choice. I am very disappointed.

I got the robe for my brother and he washed it and it shrunk so now he cant wear it. The robe was $140 or so with shipping. I assumed by purchasing a high end product that it would wash well and retain its fit. I was wrong.

This robe is huge! I'm 6ft, weigh185lbs and have an athletic body type. My dad used to wear LL Bean robes so I decided to give it a go since he made it look classy and gentleman like. When I tried mine on I felt like a lazy dirty bum because the material was poor quality and the size was way too big. Having it on wasn't motivating at all and it felt like a weighted rag on me. I wish the quality was better. It looks like it will wear out quickly. I'm not usually that picky of a shopper but this robe isn't what I was hoping for. Also, way overpriced for what it is!

Waist belt was the same size as the waist circumference. It's so short you can't even tie it at all.

Bought this to replace the same item that was 4 years old, different color. Washed it out of the box per instructions (cold water wash, extra low dry) and the flannel outer shell shrank while the sherpa lining did not, so there was a roll bulge at the bottom hem. Returned it and decided to avoid the hassle of trying another one so I repaired my old one. Never had that problem with the older one and even now wash it in warm water and high heat.

I purchased a robe (looks exactly like this one) from L.L.Bean about 10 years ago for my partner; its comfortable and warm, and my partner wears it daily. The elbow area had torn from wear and tear so I purchased another one for him. He was happy to get a second robe, but after the first wash the material peeled all over--it now looks very old and cheap. The 10-year-old robe's material looks like new apart from the torn elbows; I ended up patching the torn area which gives the robe more character. I consider myself to shop at L.L.Bean often and for $100 on a new robe, I'd expect the same good quality as items I've purchased over the years. Unfortunately, I am returning this one.

Absolutely perfect, except when washed for the first time and dried (on medium), the outer cotton layer shrank and the interior did not shrink, so now it looks wildly silly and doesn't fit well anymore. If you never want to wash/dry the product, go for it.
