The sherpa lining in the main body of the shirt seems good. I would have liked it better if the sleeves had the same sherpa lining. The arms of the Sherpa felt cold so I am exchanging it for a fleece lined flannel one that feels warmer.

It's good looking. It's warm, but the sleeves are too short.

Over the last few years I've found that LL Bean's sizing is no longer reliable. I ordered a Large, which is what I've always worn, and this shirt is NOT slightly fitted, as described, but so loose it doesn't protect from the wind. This shirt is obviously Extra Large, not the Large I ordered -- though it's label says it's a large. It's a drag to have to keep returning LL Bean items. Do be aware that due to the fleece lining, the shirt does not tuck into one's regular-sized pants. Even though it's cut with a shirt tail, I think most folks would need to wear it more like a jacket.

I love the fleece lined shirts, so figured this would be even better since it's more expensive and Sherpa would be warm and soft. This is more like a jacket. The Sherpa is only in the body, the arms have a cold material. Wouldn't be that bad if I was wearing it as a jacket, but as a shirt against my skin, it's awful. Would exchange for the fleece lined (fleece is in the entire shirt) if LLB would do it free of charge, but nope....I'm stuck, not worth the fee and I will use it as a work jacket or give away. Stick with the fleece lined if you are looking for a warm, comfortable shirt. If you want a jacket, then this is for you.

I love LL Bean flannel shirts. The flannel in this shirt is a little different. It is already getting "pilly" and it is only a few weeks after Christmas. I love the sherpa lining but somehow the flannel is not the same quality as item#299131, another flannel I own and love. I have 2 other nice flannels from LL Bean and am pleased with both of them. It is a lot of money to spend on a lined shirt so you want to be very happy with it. If it weren't so expensive I probably wouldn't have this to say but at 94.00 you should have all the facts. But the best thing about this company is that if I am not completely satisfied they will return it with ease and no questions! I have bought from this company for over 25 years. They are the best in the business.

I have the fleece lined flannel and I love it, its soft and warm. I Did not read the part where this said it has taffeta lined sleeves. I just want to wear a t shirt under this but the sleeves are the opposite of soft and I have a feeling they will not breathe well at all.
I will give it points for being beautiful and fitting superbly, I got it in the same size I get my flannel shirts large tall and it fits extremely well, it's not too bulky or baggy. However, it fits so well that I can probably only get away with using it as a shirt. I would order this a size or 2 up if you want to use it as a jacket.

My son really liked the shirt unfortunately it came damaged. The sleeve snap was broken. The same item is no longer available so that is disappointing as well.

I am an avid supporter of LLBean. From shirts, to slippers, boots and bedding, etc. (though I do wish you carried more small sizes in Men's - there are lots of skinny men who need warm clothing too). We are a family of farmers who have always trusted your brand. However, the Sherpa lining is of a lesser quality than the Nylon lined jackets and I am very disappointed that the Nylon lining is no longer offered in a slim fit. Item # 298234. This was a far superior jacket to this sherpa lined jacket. I own 3 of each style (Nylon and sherpa slim fit) and the nylon style is by far my favorite. I wear it in all seasons (Summer - at night. Spring and Fall as a light jacket and in Winter as a layer under my heavy canvas jacket.). The non-slim fit Nylon style you still carry is too loose and therefore more cold air gets inside. To the point that I do not reach for it anymore. The sherpa lining clings to your other clothing as you put it on, making it more uncomfortable. The Nylon allows for your layers to easily go on and off. I would recommend to LLBean to not prioritize the sherpa lining. I understand it may be more affordable for your company, but it is pushing me to find a nylon style through another company. I would pay the extra money for a better product. I hope this review is helpful and that you do consider bringing back my favorite jacket you offer.

I was hugely disappointed with this shirt. It's quite warm, which is nice. But it's the opposite of "slightly fitted." I bought a medium. I'm pretty much perfectly in the middle of the recommended size range, and the shoulders and arms fit. But this thing is way too bulky and baggy around the midsection, and the pockets (which can't be closed short of sewing them shut) make the thing even bulkier. I honestly can't understand how so many reviewers are calling this thing "true to size." I might not complain if I'd spend $30 on this at the local farm supply store. But it's not nearly worth the $110 I paid for it here.
On a positive note, it's super cozy, which has made it just good enough to not be worth the hassle of returning. But I still hardly ever wear it because it just fits like a sack.

The sleeves are not fleece lined, it's a vest style lining of fleece.

I usually wear an XL in everything. I ordered this shirt and it absolutely swallowed me. Returned immediately.

Ordered size Large/Tall. Sleeves are extremely short. The shirt seems to be made well, is heavy weight, so should be warm but sadly had to return as sleeves were way too short.

I bought this jacket for my teenage son for Christmas. The jacket itself is beautiful, and the flannel and sherpa-lining are incredibly soft. My son loved the jacket. However, after wearing it for less than a week, the snap on the right sleeve cuff came off. My son wants to keep the jacket so I'm going to take it to have the snap button replaced. Very disappointed. I expected the quality to be better.

A few things I did not like. 1) the shirt was huge. Sleeves long, not really fitted at all. 2) There was a price tag on the shirt for $99 and I was charged $119. Add $10 and call it "free shipping"? 3) the sherpa lining was not in the sleeves and should have specified that. 4) the sleeve cuffs only had one snap so you do not have the choice to snug up that area when really cold. unsnapped or snapped still a wide wrist opening. 5) it cost me $6 to return! Most other sites are free. Lost a customer here.

Disappointing. Too large at shoulders, too narrow at hips. Too long. Snaps don't stay secured.

I ordered the medium and it was two tight in the shoulders (I have broad shoulders) and just right in the torso. So I exchanged it for a large. The large fit just right in the shoulders but the torso felt like an XL, at least. If only LLBean could combine the shoulders of a large to the torso of a meium, they'd be golden.

The large is more like an XL. Much bigger than the 1912 shirt jac.

Not warm and feel cheap. The sherpa lining doesn't go down the sleeves and is just around the chest.

Love the style, pattern and feel of this jacket. But my size is usually between a medium and large and for this jacket I ordered a medium and it felt very big on me even though it says "fitted". Also I found the collar to be too small looking.

Seemed well made and comfortable, but the sizing is wayyyy off. Nearly all my clothes are M, with the occasional L, and this Regular Medium "slightly fitted" shirt was huge on me. Large cuffs as other's mentioned, sleeves to my knuckles, length too long, and I probably could have fit my baby on my chest and still buttoned it up. Hard to forgive a miss this big without free exchanges.
I also wasn't a fan of the lining on the sleeves. I guess its pretty typical, so I didn't lower my rating for it, but I was hoping to throw this over a t-shirt and take the dog or garbage out. The nylon material on bare skin is cool to the touch and the exact opposite of the warm and comfy feel I was looking for.

When I first got the jacket It was way too big XXL so I exchanged it for an XL but the sleeves were too long so my wife altered the sleeves. the next problem was only one snap she found a way to bypass the snaps and now it fits better but it still does not fit right, very heavy and to long in the back. Shame on you at LL Bean Poor quality control! Find a new supplier. I have never have had a problem like this with an LL Bean product.
