Since discovering these shirts, I have been wearing them for nine months out of the year up here in northern VT, don't know how many but at least 25, all different colors, prefer the henleys and darker colors, have to buy as soon as they come out if you like a color due to it may not exist soon, keep me warm! Love them!
Everybody should try them! Seriously, quality is very good! The only complaint is that sometimes the sleeve end may wrinkle a little, as I do not use an iron very often. Thanks LLBean, keep them coming!!

Shirt fits true to size. Washes well and retains color and shape. Great for the tall guys.

I go to these shirts on the really cold days. The combination of fabrics with the wool makes for a very warm comfy shirt for those cold winter days. I now own a collection of these and have added another this year. Blue, red, baseball Henley, and the new one is a forest green.Needless to say one of my favorite shirts. If you buy one you'll probably be back for another in the future. Can't go wrong with L.L.Bean quality.

So I used to have a charcoal colored, older version of this shirt (which I didn't even realize was a shirt, I thought it was a sweater) sized medium. Made me sad when I grew a tad bit huskier and couldn't fit, despite that it could stretch. This one, now in my favorite color replaces that and in my size too. Just as comfy as I remember.

I really like the beefiness of this top. My son states he's cold a lot in school and this will be the perfect top to wear. I ordered him the blue; very rich color.

I LOVE the men's River Driver Shirt. I have the following colors: Dark red, bright red, purple, dark green, light gold, light green, navy blue, denim, oatmeal, charcoal and light blue. I try to buy 2 new ones each year. That way I have at least one in every state of wear, from new to 20 y/o holy. I have purchased the women's version only occasionally, as I don't find them as warm or long enough to stay tucked in. This shirt is fabulous for insulation, warmth, & everyday from -50 to 60 degrees.

Very comfortable shirts. Wore them under a flannel shirt for years in cold drafty weather in New England winters.

I have several of these. Very warm and comfortable. Great quality and fit. One of my go-to shirts when the temperatures start to drop. Layers very well.

I am thrilled with this shirt. I got two and love them. Great for the chilly days and nights in Indiana.
I will probably get all the colors.

I live in central PA- it gets cold in the winter. My first layer is one of these shirts. As comfortable as a t-shirt because of the inner cotton layer but very warm thanks to the outer layer, which also seems to help with wicking, and stays warm even when a bit wet- the ideal combo of wool on the outside, cotton on the inside. They also never wear out. I started buying a few of these every year more about 25 years ago, initially one or two new ones each year in a boring assortment of blue-grey, but more recently they have added nicer colors like black and dark green. I wear them every day from October through April, and even the oldest ones, washed hundreds of times, are in perfectly good shape. Easily the best design and value of the many LLB products I use.

Over the years I've bought a bunch of these shirts. I've got almost every color. They're all I wear and the reason is simple. They're warm, they dry quickly when wet and they're tough. The fit is perfect and feel good. They look good with jeans or khakis. Great job LL Bean.

My husband has worn the Drivers shirts for many years, as they are very comfortably warm and well made. Personally, I like the way they wash and product holds up. The thing we have told LL Bean numerous times is that we would like the shirt in brown.

This is a very warm, heavy shirt. Fit is a bit snug but I washed it first so it could have shrunk a bit. Might want to get the next size up with this one. I prefer the lighter weight Henlys but this one works too. As always, the LL quality is top notch.

This is my third Two-Layer River Driver's Henley. I love that it is thick and well made but not sweatshirt heavy. I saw the Black Cherry color and had to have it. Great product and I recommend to others.

Great shirt. Not my first and won't be my last. It's great for cool days as as a standalone due to its built-in second layer. On colder days it can be an integral part of a multi-layering approach. I love these shirts.

Great shirt! You can tell that this henley is well made and should last me a number of years. I purchased a bunch of henley's last year for $19 from another store. I thought what a great deal, but they ended up only lasting a year with the necks all stretching out. This year I decided to invest in llbean and their high quality goods. Loved the first one I purchased so much that I purchased a few more of these in different colors.

I received this as a Christmas gift about three years ago and it looks as good as new. I typically wear a thin cotton shirt under for comfort and as an extra layer of insulation, with that being said I can work outside all day in low 50 to 60 degree temps. Friday it was 58 with 12mph winds and I was very comfortable.

Comfortable .... Like the blend of wool and cotton ... this is the forth one I have purchased in 5 years. Outstanding for layering.

There are several other reviews here stating just how and why this is such a superior garment, so I'll try not to just repeat what they say. The first time I equipped myself with this legendary garment was atop Cadillac Mountain in Maine. It kept me quite warm and comfortable, and I've been more than happy with it in even colder conditions. I inherited 2 of these shirts from my dad after he passed on. They are probably more than 20 years old at this point, and still going strong. I cannot recommend this shirt highly enough.
The main point is that it's great on its own, but even better when I need to layer-up to face extreme cold. I am relatively small for an adult, and need multiple layers to keep warm when I'm out working, hiking, snowshoeing, etc. in winter conditions. The garments I mention here work well for me because I can be wearing 3-4 layers under my coat and still move around without feeling all bulky. That last bit is important- especially when dealing with a charging bear, moose, yeti, or what have you.
This is easily the best (and my favorite) type of shirt I've ever owned. It's excellent on its own. It can be worn as one of several layers, fitting comfortably under flannels, sweatshirts, and jackets. I recommend L.L. Bean Carefree Unshrinkable Tee, Long-Sleeve, and/or L.L. Bean Athletic Sweats. These are each excellent garments in their own right, which I discovered as a direct result of having been so pleased with the quality of the River Driver's shirt. I can combine these 3 layers, fit them under my coat, and even tuck them in comfortably without feeling too bulky.
Owning 2 was enough, but I've been so happy/impressed with them that I've bought one of each color. I also recommend the Crewneck version of this same shirt. Would love to see more color options available for both of these, e.g. Bering Blue...

The Bay Area in California has cool mornings and evenings when the fog comes in`land. Not cold, but cool. River driver shirts over a poly or cotton T-shirt, khaki shorts, and hiking sandals are what I wear most days-even teaching my high school clasess.
If it's cold, I add a Pendleton wool board shirt. (LL Bean should market and sell Pendleton)
I learned the hard way. No dryer. I hang them outside to dry and they don't shrink.
