Couldn't be more disappointed. The quality of the shirt is wonderful. But the sizing is way off. Everything I own is a medium, so I ordered 4 different flannels (in size M) from LL Bean thinking that they would fit as well. The flannels all fit like a Large and a half. So now I have to forfeit my healthcare discount that I had had on the order, and go through the headache of returning.

I have been wearing LLBean Chamois shirts for 40+ years. The last two have been of lower quality. First, the "nap" seems to wear off with normal washings within a year. Secondly, the elbows wear out quickly. So in effect, the "chamois" essence of the shirt seems to wear out more quickly. Similar shirts that Cabelas sell seem to be of better quality.

Fit was OK when new and since I have short arms I had sleeves altered. It was OK until I washed it. Now sleeves are too short and it is tight around the shoulders. It is now in Goodwill and I do not even get a deduction.

I have been a size medium all my life (many years). I have purchased 7 or 8 of the chamois shirts, all medium, and they all fit. Not this one. Out of the package the sleeves hung to my finger tips, the tail nearly to my knees and I probably could've got my wife into it with me. Label and paper work said Med. so I figured it was mis-sized. Called customer service to complain..Nice lady it wasn't mis-sized. It was now called "traditional fit" designed to be worn over medium layers, sort of like a light jacket. That's the way I've always worn them. She told me if I exchanged it for another medium it would fit the same way. She assured me a Small would probably work just right for me. Soooo, I ordered a small, sent the med. back. You guessed it. Body fit OK, sleeves too short. I'm not returning it. Too much trouble. My wife can probably use it as a coat. Now I wonder if Bean sells anything that will fit me. Medium "traditional" certainly doesn't.

Ordered bc of a shirt my father had. Sorry but this is the worst garment I ever purchased. After 2 yrs the fabric is extremely stiff and uncomfortable, not soft and cozy. Feels like it's made from wood, hard to believe it's cotton. Very disappointed

XXL Regular was too small through the chest and much too long in length, unlike other XXL Regulars bought in the past. Isn't there any quality control on sizing?

So disappointed that this shirt no longer comes in forest green or natural chamois, the two colors that were this product's standard for so many years. None of the current color choices appeal to me at all.

Quality of the shirt (fabric, stitching, etc.) was fine, but the sleeves for this Medium shirt were made for a simian. In general, sleeve length for shirts made in other countries is highly erratic and unpredictable. LLBean would do well to control for this more strictly, and include sleeve length with their sizing charts.

Have been buying these shirts for years. Very good wear and quality. The last three that I bought are of a different material. After a wash, the material wants to ball up like a cheap pair of socks. I am disappointed and don't foresee buying these shirts again.

Been ordering this shirt for a half century. This one was two sizes too large.

Even the small size is way too big. I also bought the Signature 1933 Chamois Cloth Shirt, Slim Fit which is too slim on the sleeves. It is very disappointing that none of LL Bean chamois fits is good. And I have to spend more on return shipping since there are no stores in California.

Over the years I have purchased at least a dozen Bean Chamois shirts in different colors and plaids. The Chamois has always been my favorite winter shirt or spring jacket. Recently I purchased the deep-wine color and was sadly surprised when it came out of the dryer with uneven fade marks all over. Since the shirt is only a couple of months old and worn/washed only a few times I was totally taken aback at this shift in quality.

I have bought many LL Bean shirts and my husband loves them. For some reason this one didn't measure up. My husband tried on the shirt and was so pleased because it fit beautifully. After it was washed (cold water) and dried (gentle cycle) the shirt is too small. I will be returning it. Unfortunately, I don't think that going to a larger size will work. It would be too large. But we will see. I WOULD recommend all LL Bean products to everyone but be very careful of the sizing. This is the first time this has happened to us. They make beautiful products.

This shirt arrived today and immediately I could tell it was massive. It was baggy all over, and the bottom of the shirt reached close to my knees. It was sized like a medium/large for many other brands. I can deal with bagginess, but the length of the shirt was unreasonable. This is the first "small" I've ordered that is so out of proportion.

I bought a blue and grey in M. The blue is perfect. The grey is at least an XLG I was charged to return it. Will not but again from LL BEAN

Product was nice, but fit was terrible. I ordered XL, but it fit like XXL+. May be was mismarked; I do not know. I had ordered other chamois shirts before which fit true to their XL sizing.

Purchased in the Chamois color. Washed twice on cool, gentle cycle and dried on very low heat dryer. Pulled out while still a bit damp and hung to finish drying. Shirt looks like it should be thrown out. Fabric faded, pilled. Looks absolutely awful. The LL Bean quality I used to be able to depend on is gone. The old chamois shirts wore like iron man and lasted a few years even with frequent wear. Those days are gone.

Way oversized. Can't fit in a medium, it almost drapes down to my knees and if I size down to a small its too tight around the chest. One of my favorite shirts but now the sizing has changed drastically.

In addition to this shirt, I purchased three other shirts in size large (regular fit except one slightly fitted). To varying degrees, every one of them was too large in the shoulders or sleeve length or both. I compared them to previously purchased Bean shirts size large that fit perfectly. Made in different countries. I've had very good experience with online clothing purchases from Bean in past. I'm returning all of these.

I really wanted to love this shirt. It is so soft, and so well made, but it is just HUGE! I bought an XL Tall for my boyfriend who is 6'3" and weighs about 220. This shirt could have held him and another person! Even at 6'3" it was way too long for him, including the sleeves. He is in the UK, so rather than return it, he donated it. $60 (plus shipping to UK) gone. I then ordered him a Large Tall, thinking going smaller both ways might work. Nope. It may not be too long (not sure as I haven't sent it to him), but it is still way too big around. I'm just going to return this. I am so disappointed! It is a beautiful shirt, but it's just too expensive (and annoying) to fiddle around trying to find the right size.

Love the durable fabric and construction, but the shirt is laughably enormous. In most shirts I wear an XL, or a Large Tall. I ordered a Medium Tall in this shirt and it is not only VERY long, but also has room for another person to fit inside. I was literally able to button this shirt up with my 1-year-old underneath.

So I ordered Large/Tall for the sleeve length. Received a Chamois Mumu, sleeve length was good though. Donated to local Goodwill. Reordered, Medium/Tall, still way too long, worse the sleeves are drawing up after each wash/dry. As of now sleeves are like a Regular. Disappointed, 7 shirts at $60.00 each ain't chickenfeed.

This could be a nice shirt I guess but it's sized 2 to 3 sizes too big. I bought 2 other bean button down shirts for my dad and this. All size large. He has old versions of this shirt in a large. Perfect fit. Order a large this time and it's about the size of a 2xl. I thought maybe I got a defect but went all the way to the store to see bc I was afraid to order down online in case it was missized and nope..All way too big. Then had to stand in an hour long line to fix.

I wanted to wear this shirt, but the sleeves extended to the middle of my hand, so I returned it. Except for this one, the LL Bean medium shirt fits me well. Otherwise, I would have bought several. LL Bean has the niche on this great shirt. I will try again next year.

The material is lovely and warm. The cut is possibly the worst I've ever worn. There is legitimately about one foot of extra material past the last button, making this fit like a dress. Tucked in, there is still an absurd amount of extra material. I ordered a size small and I'm 5'9, 160lbs. No matter what I do, I end up looking like a little kid in this chamois shirt and will be definitely be returning it unless I get some reassurance that it shrinks a decent amount after a wash-dry cycle. I have other traditional fit size small products from LL Bean and they fit really well, so this is especially disappointing for me.
