Disappointed in fabric, not suitable for winter wear (as advertised). Will be returning.

the old chamois shirts used to be much heavier, instead these are so thin you'd wear them to the office but not out in the snow.

So frustrating. I purchased two of these - one in gray, on in wine and both are enormous compared to the same one I purchased last year. On top of that, the gray has sleeves that are 2" longer than the wine.

Didn't get the correct color or style. I received a plaid zippered jacket not a red shirt.

Cannot give more. Horrible decisions to stop the dark loden green we depend on Bean to stay the same. Loathe the new colors and changes to old trusty friends like dark green (not plaid!!!)

Just washed this shirt for the first time and it shrunk a whole size. what I bought to wear as a light weight loose coat is now a snug shirt. Check label for any special washing instructions but there were none.

I bought 2 Chamois shirts, one blue and one grey. I tried on the blue one and it fit good but it was too long in the back. I took both shirts to the tailor shop and had them shortened. I did not try on the grey one (my bad) as it said Medium just like the blue one. Upon returning home I put the blue one on and it fit prefect. It wasn't until a couple of days later that I put on the grey on, and holly smokes it wasn't any wear close to the blue one's fit. After measuring the grey one to the blue one, I found it was 1 1/2 inches larger across the back and 1 1/2 inches longer in the sleeves. I can't return the grey one as I have shortened it. My bad for trusting LLbean's labels. Off to Good Will with a $70 shirt and $20 tailor cost. MY BAD for trust.

The shirt was great until I washed it. It looks and feels like a rag after the first wash and very disappointed.

Recently I purchased 2 Chamois shirts; 1 Navy and 1 Charcoal Grey Heather. The navy is fine and the quality is similar to chamois shirts I have purchased in the past. I am very disappointed in the fabric of the Charcoal Grey Heather though. As other customers have pointed out, it pills and looks awful after washing.

Totally dissatisfied with the LL Bean sizing. For years I have purchased your chamois shirts in the Large-Regular size. I love them!! This shirt, Large-Regular is big enough to put two men into it. No, I don't want to return in. The hassle isn't worth it. I also ordered, and received, on Medium-Regular chamois shirt. It is perfect. Very dissappointed.

My husband loved this shirt... until the first wash. The fabric lost its nap (and warmth) and is covered with little knobby pills. I told him I'll buy him a replacement. But now the color is not available. Very disappointing.

This is the umpteenth chamois shirt I've bought my husband over the years. He loves this shirt: the fit, the feel of the fabric, the quality and durability. I love how good he looks in this shirt, the richness of the colors and how well they machine wash and dry. I particularly appreciate the consistency of product from LL Bean. From the first and every time I've bought this shirt as a gift for my husband, we've received exactly what we expected.

Poor fabric, pilled greatly after one washing. I had an older one from LLB and it was great, but quality has gone downhill

I have been looking to replace a hunter or forest green shirt of this type for the past three years, but L.L. Bean no longer offers this traditional color that he at used to be part of its image. Why is this color no longer available? There are some more trendy colors offered, such as a truly drab green and, this year, an exceptionally ugly and bright red/orange, but no forest green. Why?

This is my 4th LL Bean Chamois shirt. One of the most classic and dependable shirts ever made. This most recent order is such a disappointment! Fabric is much cheaper, pills after one wash, looser weave and just feels thinner. They claim it's the same weight material but the quality is not the same at all. Just a cheap imitation of a classic shirt. Such a shame. The Chamois shirt was ICONIC! This is just sad. I understand making stuff cheap and overseas to compete in this market but don't mess with the iconic staples! Better buy some new Bean Boots before they start making those in Sri Lanka too :(

If you have purchased chamois shirts in the past, please be aware that this material is entirely different. It is a super fuzzy flannel. It was bad enough that L.L. Bean ruined the Canvas shirt by changing to a thin material but now they have ruined the Chamois shirt. It is unethical and deceptive to change the material so drastically and still use the same names in their catalog and website.

I bought the indigo version of this shirt (M) and I liked it so much I bought the solid colors blue and maroon but to my surprise upon wearing them I noticed they were quite large. The label on the shirt said "M" but I swear it was a "XL". LL Bean if you are seriously reading and taking our reviews seriously then I think you need to have your vendors what ever coutry it's made in to have their QC department check these and every item they make for you to ensure it is to standards and they are using the correct pattern or templates for the correct size. I had a couple of backorder flannels that are about to arrive but now I will have to cancel them for fear it may be too large for me and I end up returning them.

Having purchased many of these shirts over the years, it was disappointing to see the quality of the fabric now is not what it had been. Won't be buying any more.

Initially ordered a large and it was very big and extremely long. Exchanged for a medium, fit was much better except for sleeve length was on the short side. Wore it and thought I could live with the sleeves but then I washed it. Bottom is falling off now and piling has started. Quality is not like the old LL Bean.

Shirt size was mismarked and required 2 trips to store to get correct size. (xlarge vs correct large). The shirt shrank about what would be expected for cotton shirt after first washing. I hope it does not shrink further. The cashier noted that the mis marking was a problem for these shirts. The shirt fuzzed more than expected and will require ironing after each washing to look decent. I do not recommend this shirt. I am deeply disappointed in Bean quality and glad I did not order this on line.
