Odd fit, I'm a solid 8.5, bought 9 1st: too big, then the 8's, better but wonky arch. Returned both

I bought these for my regular size. But by the time I wore them for a few hours I realized they were A SIZE TOO BIG. And by that time it was too late to send them back as it was raining. I would recommend going a full size down for anyone, thick socks or thin socks.

I purchased these as a replacement of my 20 year old zipper boot version, which I loved and wore out. This version (and most other insulated models I tried at the store) now have a pronounced ridge where the sole meets the upper Leather. The stitching is rough around the foot making these boots unwearable in thin socks or with no socks.

Boots returned due to improper sizing. I followed the instructions, ordering this boot in my correct size, no downsizing needed. I wear a size 10, sometimes 101/2 depending on shoe or boot but this thing swallowed my foot and did not even come close to fitting. So, the boot was returned on 12-6-22, requesting a size 9 be returned. Seems like it should have been sent back to me by now, 12-23-22. This is my fourth pair of LL Bean made in USA boots and I love everything about them except the sizing issue. Two of the four pairs have ordered, all in accordance with Bean instructions, have been too large.
Maybe you need to come up with a printable size measuring device for the boots???
Thank you. And, my appreciation for retaining some manufacturing in the USA.
Thank you.

The shoe part fit well, but the leather upper part was so large, he could easily get the boot on and off without unzipping. It looked odd and he said it felt floppy when walking. We returned.

Tried to order a winter boot size 13 on October 11 online. Site showed sold out. Called customer service who advised backorder til March. Didn't seem to appreciate the folly of ordering a winter boot in the spring-not the customer care I remember from Bean.

This boot just does not fit right, therefore I returned it for a full refund. I can not afford to pay return shipping until I find the right fit so after two tries I am done.

Upon opening box 1 boot zipper mangled and was broken. Inspector did not inspect. Had to buy elsewhere as boots were needed for trip.

The top of the boot has a very large opening. My leg was swimming at the top of the zipper.
