THE GOOD STUFF: Made in Maine, from LLBEAN, very easy to slip on and off, quality craftsmanship with good materials, they seem to be warm enough - certainly kept my feet dry in snow. They are very wide at the top and ankle so my flannel lined jeans can be tucked in comfortably to stay dry. Zipper works well and nice color choices. They didn't cause any issues while driving as some of my heavy winter boots do, plus, they can be returned if I decide they don't work for me. FYI: All my footwear is size 10 W - these are definitely large even though I followed LLBean fitting advice. I think I have normal size ankles for an adult male. Some of the issues I have may not be issues with size 9 - idk - but too tight and they wouldn't be warm enough or have room for heavy socks. This would be no problem if there is an LLBean store near by to try them on first. THE NOT SO GOOD STUFF: why they designed these with so much extra room in the ankle is a mystery to me - see photos - I suppose they have reasons maybe it's because of the zipper. On longer walks, especially in fresh fluffy snow on top of old snow, they make it more difficult to walk because they are so loose. Better on shoveled walkways for short walks. The looseness might be what makes my socks slide down too. These boots would get sucked right off if walking in mucky mud. I have many pairs of boots, even others from LLBean and none of them have so much room in the ankle. Photos show the problem of the excess room at the front ankle leather part of the boot. IN CONCLUSION: these boots will mostly be used to take my dog on short walks; easy on and off, warmth and stability, and the high quality are key reasons I'll likely keep them. Plus made in Maine & LLBean.

Originally, I ordered the zipper boot in a size 10. It was too big, so I returned them and ordered a size 9. The size 9 fits me perfectly! It is comfortable and warm and keeps my feet happy. I know this is going to be my go-to Bean boot when running out to get the mail or dash off on a quick errand. They are super easy to put on and take off, and the zipper STAYS UP on these boots, which has been a problem for me on other brands of zippered boots. I highly recommend these boots to anyone who wants the comfort and quality of an L.L. Bean boot but does not want to lace up a pair. These boots are super easy off and on, and the zipper glides freely. For people who have trouble bending over to tie laces or have arthritis in their hands, these boots are for you. Buy a pair!! You'll be glad you did.

When I was searching for a leather bean boot it wasn't easy until I found one I finally liked, it was perfect and I've had them for 2 years now and plan on keeping them as long as I can!

I have several pair of Bean Boots and I am satisfied with all of them. This boot is easy on and off and the quality is unmatched. The front zip also holds the boot in place with no sliding up and down.

These boots are a classic. Warm, dry with great fit and traction. They'll take you from downeast hiking through a nor'easter and keep on performing! 100% worth every cent.

Just returned from Alaska trip where I wore these everyday. Feet stayed dry and warm. Quite good insulation against moderate cold. Zip boot design allowed easy on/off while keeping boot snug on foot. My complaint: heel is slightly taller than ball of foot. This causes me to have sever lower back pain. Probably does not cause pain for other people. But I had to restrict use for when I was not walking. Otherwise the discomfort was pronounced.

Truly do like these boots. Easy on and off with the zipper. Recently temp with windchill was -25 and feet were warm. Size wise they run roomy and wearing a hear sock is no issue. So I call it close to size. First pair of Bean boots, very happy.

I got these boots the day before a 6 inch snowfall. Great traction and warmth. In addition, they are easy on and off. Ordered half size down compared to my regular size as recommended and the fit perfectly.

Very comfortable! I wish I was aware that the boots lacked fleece in the foot area. However, thick wool socks solved that chill. I would certainly recommend this boots.

Comfortable boot for farm or hunting. Boot keeps feet dry and inner sole is comfortable to walk on for long days. The zippered front allows for quick slip on and go. Love the quality of this classic.
