Great boots but LL Bean needs to figure out how to make their sizing match every other shoe ever made

Well made boot but the zipper as opposed to the traditional tie makes the top look frumpy .

My husband loves his boots! Easy on and off, comfortable fit.

I love these boots. They run true to size, built for US feet for a change. My only problem is that they only come in a Medium width. At this price there is no reason they could not be offered in a Wide width! This has been a problem over the years with many boots, and shoes. Also no 1/2 sizes.

My husband finally LOVES his LL Bean handcrafted boots size 8. However, he normally wears a 9 1/2. We initially ordered a size 10, too big, returned for a size 9 still too big. Size 8 perfect! He wore the same thick, heavy socks with all three sizes.

I've had my boots about a year now, and overall they are a great boot, but all of the reviews about size are correct, they are much larger than normal (my normal size is 11). Another negative is that the front zipper comes down if I run at all, which I do when walking my dogs. So I am going to order one size down now, size 10, and hopefully that will take care of both issues. I like that even when walking in a lot of mud, the sole seems to stay clean or is very easily cleaned before walking inside.

Your feet are going to stay dry and somewhat warm, but the fit is "floppy." The length and width might be fine, but the fit around your ankles is going to be lose because the front zipper cannot snug up against your ankle! A side-mounted zipper would have allowed the boot to close against your ankle, but as it is your foot will feel like a pea-in-a-pod even with the zipper fully up. And no, any sock heavy enough to fill up this empty space would almost preclude forcing your foot into the toe area. A good pull-on solution when the weather is foul, but you must rescue the dog from the back porch, or the paper from the sidewalk. Not an all-day piece of equipment.

Mine were a little too large so I added another insert and they fit well. These are very handy in the winter for getting firewood, shoveling snow, running to the store, etc. There is little ankle support so I would only advise these for light hiking on level ground.

Only come in even sizes, so large for me. With heavy winter socks, boots are still a bit stiff and not as flexible as I would like. Hope they break in a bit over time. Well made, nicely lined but the tops are loose. I think I will stuff my pants inside them which may be how they were designed

Nice boots, decent quality, caution is they run very large. Order down at least 1 size for sure. I usually am size 12 D and never smaller than 11.5 even for fine fitted dress shoes. I got 12 boots but are sending back for size 11. Ridiculously large. So large I'm hoping I don't need a size 10 if the 11 is still too big. That's how large the 12 was. They are sized like clown shoes. But the boots seem nice though.

I bought a size 10 boot, as I wear a size 11 shoe and belived a size 10 boot would fit me well with lightweight socks. Far from it. The boots are gorgous but the sizing was way off! I am returning the boots and have ordered a size 9, which I am sure will fit me much better. I do not know who manages the sizing for Bean boots, but my experience has always been they are cut big - very big. Use caution when ordering your boots! That being said, once you get a pair that fit you well, you will be in love for life.

I had a heck of a time ordering these boots. Just when I was about to give up a very kind customer service employee came to the rescue and found a pair at a store and had them ship them to me. My faith was restored that customers happiness still matters. The boots are what they are known for and these live up to the earned reputation.

Sides could have been a little higher for use in deep snow. Otherwise a well constructed boot. Should serve for many years.

Fit is great. But difficult to get them zipped all the way up.

Runs large. I'm a 13 and had to return the 13 for a 12. Even the 12 slips in the heel. But they're well made and keep your feet dry.

Lining is nice, but like the original better. Upper leather is slightly misshaped, but still ok.

This style is my favorite Bean Boot. I purchased this boot years ago and had not seen it since, so I was happy to see the style come back this season. However, I am disappointed that the zipper is different. The sturdy brass zipper of days past has been replaced with a plastic/nylon zipper. Time will tell if it holds up. For the price, these boots should have the better, brass zipper.

These are perfect if you want easy on and off. One less thing to button or lace or zip when you are trying to head out the door. Like regular Bean boots order a size down. I wear a 13 but the 12 fits perfectly. They are loose at the top once you zip them. Would be 5 stars if they were a little tighter fitting on the leg. Hopefully they will still keep your feet as warm as the regular ones.

A typically solid boot. But it is too large/loose on the top/ankle area so just comes off. Cannot go down a size as the foot part would be too tight.

I take a 10 and that's what I ordered but they were too big and had to return, wanted the same item but all were out of stock . Had to order another staple!

I didn't size down as recommended because there were no half sizes available. So the left shoe fit like a glove and the right was looser than socks on a rooster. Now my feet haven't changed so I know it's not that. You'd think that a $200 boot would have consistent sizing.
