I didn't size down as suggested. The left foot fit perfect and the right foot was looser than socks on a rooster.

Nice but not as nice as the older version without zipper

Sole is soft, great for snow, not so much rain and mud, too much suction in Ohio mud. Bulky upper, plan on tucking your pants into the boot, or, wear knee socks, or you will be hating life.

This was a well made warm boot. I purchased one for my son. Unfortunately the front zipper made bending and squatting very difficult and uncomfortable. I also gave one to my father-in-law and it caused a blister. It worked better with thick socks

These boots weren't exactly what I expected. Because of the zipper, they don't fit snuggly and felt kind of clunky. I did need to return

I have worn size 13 men's in every boot or shoe I have worn for a great while, so of course I ordered size 13, they were approximately 1-1/2" too long. I had to send them back.

The front by the zipper does not lay down. It kind of buckles up into some sort of small lump. For the price I would not have bought them.

The boot is easy to get on and off however zipper does not go all the way up. It is not a comfortable boot.

These were huge around the ankles, the right boot was made so that the foot bed turned up so the was not a flat foot bed.

I wear a size 11 in every shoe or boot I have. I ordered 11 In these and they were way to large. I returned and got size 10. They still slip at the heal area. Also the top of boots after zipper is raised ,the top is very large. Definitely not up to bean standers, I am used to. I will keep the boots and make them work but would not recommend to anyone else.

I have been looking around for the perfect boot after spending a lot of money buying different ones and brands and giving them away due to not being able to return used products because they just were not right somehow or another. This boot had everything I wanted in a boot as far as it looked. After having finally been able to wear them this weekend after our storm here in NYC, I can say, for the money, not impressed. Top of boot too flared. Zipper is cheap and will be damaged or broken in no time. Lining only extends only from top of boot to ankle and not throughout to the whole foot. The top portion sits odd and gathers at the ankle. Looks weird. Was out for an hour and a half digging my car out and cleaning it off of snow with 2 pair of thick socks and that did not help. Before an hour was up my feet were frozen, dry yes but frozen. I am disappointed that I will still be in the market for a good boot. Always a fan of LLBean, but they have not got this boot right. Maybe they can fix the issues with it and perfect what looks to be a well made boot becomes a well made boot.

For me the fit was wrong. My foot moved around in the boot and the top was wide enough that when walking it banged into my ankle.

While the boots seem to be well made, the design is not ideal. The shaft of the boot is flared so that it won't stay under a pant leg, and loose enough so that pants won't stay tucked in. The boots run big, no half sizes, size 10 too big, I don't think I should have to wear multiple socks underneath, size 9 will be too small with heavy socks. All in all a terrible experience.

Very disappointed in this American made product. Neck of the boot is at least two times wider than it needs to be to either wear trouser legs over boots or tuck them in with any degree of dryness. Sizing advice said to buy a whole size smaller. I wear an 11 1/2..I bought an 11 since half sizes were not offered..and I was swimming in them. Most disappointing was the fact that the zipper on the right boot was improperly sewn into the upper, causing the leather to bunch up at the throat of the boot. I've never given an LL Bean product 1 Star until now. Design, fit, and construction all unsatisfactory.

This boot is poorly made, the leather upper is thin, there is no heel counter, it has no fit per se. The zipper on one was well off-center.

This boot runs way too large. I normally take a 12, and it is an inch too long. I have to return it. Why can't LL Bean use decent quality control?

I have wanted a pair of LL Bean boots my entire adult life. I wear a 13W in every shoe and boot I wear. I ordered the LL Bean fleeced lined zip up boots, in a 13D and what I received was more akin to clown shoes. These boots are so wide around the heel area they are impossible to wear. The inside of the boot does not make contact with any part of my foot in the heel area, from the ankle back, not even the fleece lining. To add insult to injury, I have to pay the return shipping. This was the first and last product I will by buying from LL Bean!

I got these in an 8 and a 9 to be good snow boots for winter that would be easy on and off. I typically wear an 8.5-9, but even in an 8, the heel section was way too lose, and my heel would continually lift up. Ironically, the toe bad felt right, so I think a 7 would have been ok in the heel but too tight in the toes. I never even tried on the 9 because there was no point. These were returned.

I had read reviews such as Randi's (12/31/23) who went thru the frustration
of 3 attempts to find the right size for her husband's size 9 1/2 foot. So
having a size 9 1/2 foot myself, I thought I would learn from her experience
and ordered a size 9 because I like to wear thick wool socks. When they
arrived, to my surprise and dismay they were still over an inch too long
even with my thick socks, and my foot slid around inside the boot! So I
returned them for a size 8, just like she had to do. Well the length was
finally right, but now the boot was too narrow and I had to send them back
too and cancel my order, which was very disappointing because this design
was exactly what I was looking for. Easy slip on and zip up. Come on L.L.
Bean, a whole size and a half down from my normal size? Why?

Dear LLBean,
The sizing of these boots is completely off. I have a pair of the storm chaser boots (size 8) which I bought a few years ago and they fit fine. I bought these boots based on that LLBean pair but these seem to be full size bigger. These look like size 9 even though it's labeled 8. I was supposed to travel with these shoes and now I can't because it's way too big. This also happened recently with a pair of jeans and corduroys which I bought based on the size that I have always worn from LLBean for years. The label now says 34 waist when in reality it's the old 33. I have been an LLBean shopper for years now but looks like all your sizing has changed. Now I have to return these boots, but more importantly I am not sure if I can rely on the sizing anymore as they seem off for all these different products. What makes this even more difficult is that the LLBean store near my place closed recently so I have to travel to another state to return. Luckily I am an LLBean card holder so I don't have to pay restocking fees otherwise I would have been restocking fees for these returns. This has been very disappointing.

boots are very uncomfortable. Runs large and no support. I had to put Dr. Scholl's pads in them just to make them wearable. I should have returned them but the box got thrown away.
