I have had half a dozen pairs of these shoes over the years. I like them for the garden and around the yard because they are slip on, and I can walk in soggy grass and dirt. But the soles on every single pair eventually ( maybe a year in) start peeling off. I know when it happens when I end up with wet socks.

Well made, but heavy and stiff. Walking is not comfortable. The treads are deep and pick up a lot of dirt and sand.

Ordered 12 regular the 1st time, too narrow. Exchanged for size 13 regular, way too big. Currently exchanging again for the 12 wide which is what I should have ordered the first time. Hoping this is the last time. Sticking with it because LL Bean has the quality but keep in mind every exchange there's a fee.

I bought my first pair of these back around 2020.... loved them but wore them out... I ordered a 13 medium.... (I usually wear a wide but the medium fit) A little over a year ago I ordered another pair... 13 medium and they were way too narrow... seems they changed who was manufacturing them.... Sent them back for a 13 wide... and while they fit better the fit and finish were terrible... stitching was uneven all over the shoe... pull tabs were stitched on crooked... sent them back again and decided to wait a bit until I reorder... Just reordered them in a 13 wide(January 2025).... and while the fit and finish is very good the shoe is still rather narrow for a wide... I'm going to keep them but they are not as comfortable as that original pair I ordered back in 2020. Bean really needs to standardize their sizes... this has been a complaint for a while now with their shoes... This is particularly true regarding this storm chaser shoe in the width.

I was on the fence with sizing, since I have slightly wider feet. Went with the 10.5 standard width. Length is about right, but a little tight in the toe box. Was thinking about swapping them for a wide version, but my heel is already slipping up with every stride. Not sure how to fix this issue, but I suspect that a wider toe box would make the heels slip even more. I can slip them on pretty easily, and that's what I wanted, so will look for some inserts or something to keep my heels down when walking.

Runs small. Difficult to get on. Tight. Seem to be well made. Chose another type for exchange.

Mostly for yard work, also walking dog, fishing or going to/from hunting sites. Surprisingly comfortable for short hikes. Would be 5 but has developed squeak in one heel, too annoying after not much wear, and too bad return policy was tightened

I like the shoes easy to slip on and water proof just what was looking for. They fit well but the heal was loose. My heal would lift up while walking. I thought I would step out of them once they broke in. I tried a pair a half size smaller. Heal was still loose maybe not as bad but the shoes were a little too small to be comfortable so returned them.

I returned these and exchanged them for the slip-on snow sneakers. Walking motion seemed unnatural in the storm chasers. Nice looking though.

Shoe fit very loose (in length); needs the "Sketcher" heel bump to keep feet from slipping out.

Look good but they are being returned. Hard to wear. Toe section curved up too much.

When I shop LL Bean my expectation is that i am buying the best of the best and these really fall short of other options that are available. Tried both size 12 and 13 of these. They told me they would not charge me for return shipping of the second pair but did anyway. Ended up paying more for a competitors pair of boots but found them far superior in size fit comfort warmth. The exchange process with the competitor was also superior. Just can't recommend these.

Bought for father in law. He loves the easy step in. Comfortable. However on snow they are slippery and don't grip like you would want.

Hard to obtain a comfortable fit. First pair were too loose so I returned and tried next size smaller and they pinched around the toes. I am a normal size 10 and usually have no problem buying shoes off the rack that fit but these boots were different.

Everything about these is great except that the toe curves upward in a way I did not expect. It feels like what I imagine wearing a pair of those Dutch wooden clogs feels like. That may serve some function in ice or snow or mud that I don't understand, but these felt too weird to me to keep. They did seem well made, though, so if you know what you're getting into, I bet you'll be happy with them.

Was so pleased to see this available in wide widths for the sI waited almost two months for the size and color I wanted to be back in stock and ship. Exactly what I was looking for except the 10 1/2 Wide just isn't wide enough. Could always depend on Bean and Merrell to offer a shoe of good quality that fits. This is the second or third pair for me from Bean that does not fit width wise. Too bad because it is a well made, quality product.

Unfortunately I have a high instep and was unable to get these boots on my feet. Had to return them for a refund.

I loved the look of these and seemed very durable. Unfortunately, they weren't that comfortable. Too tight to wear a thicker sock and heel would slip out of the back.

Shoes look durable and attractive. The fit is good. Purchase is sure and firm, but I found them uncomfortable for two reasons. The projected area covering my instep digs into the front of my ankle. The innersole if the shoe has an uncomfortable lump near the front of the footbed. I will return these shoes. I don't know if this is intended to have a benefit for the wearer, but I didn't like it.

I felt the shoe ran small, so I recommend ordering a half size larger. In addition, the insole was thin and did not provide enough cushion so I purchased a thicker foam sole insert. Provided good traction in the snow.

One size too small, then next size up was just big enough that there is some slipping in the heel, so I'll have to return again. Would have been great if there were at least a couple of laces or a cinching strap to provide just a little tightening on the foot.

These shoes are awesome. Since I received them I haven't used any other shoes because we have had either snow or rain up here in northern Vermont I would recommend them to anyone.

Received this shoe, looks great but runs very narrow and short. Returning to get a 9 wide. Yes I purchased them even being female, many of the shoes for women do not come in wide. Should have tried more on in the store.

I find these slip-ons to be a comfortable hiking shoe in snowy or wet (not icy) terrain, but a poor performer when the conditions are icy. My Redwing boots which were not styled to be winter wear and an older pair of Bean boots are much more secure on ice. While the description for this sneaker does not review its performance on icy or wet-iced terrain, the name suggests otherwise, unless the only storms being "chased" fall outside winter months. These are definitely suitable for Fall and wet Summer hiking, and I will enjoy using them for that. I do not believe that they are secure for winter wear in Maine. I surprised that LL Bean did not test them for the variability of winters in Maine.
