Conceptually these are exactly the shoes I need around the house. Something that can be slipped on quickly to cope with an outside matter or left on all day for chores and errands. Enough tread for slippery conditions but not 'monster truck' lugs to track dirt all over the place.
But they are just not made correctly. The right shoe fits perfectly. The left shoe fits like a right shoe on a left foot, jamming my big toe to the point that it's unwearable. We (Customer Service and I) went as far as to have another pair sent to see if it was just an improperly made shoe. Both pairs had the same problem.

I read the other reviews and I was concerned about sizing and fit. I ordered a half size bigger as suggested by others customers however, like others indicated in their reviews, the foot is too tight both side and in the toe area, as well as the shoe slips up and down on the heal. I am a VERY disappointed first time LL Bean customer and was shocked that I had to pay the UPS shipping charge to return the item in addition to the shoe not fitting... I think I will stick to other on-line stores that provide better return policies especially when the item purchase does not fit as described in the stores website.

Nice looking and well cushioned shoe. But toe box was far too narrow even though I have a narrow foot. The shoe almost looked as if the uppers were sewn onto the opposite sole. The length seemed to be good.

You have offered these shoes for years now. They look great. They serve a great purpose and function. Why, oh why, don't you make them in a wide shoe. Almost all of the rest of your footwear comes in wide. How bout a change?

I do not recommend for outside work in wet conditions. First pair I had I returned for leaking after a couple months, I exchanged for another pair. Had the second pair for three hours and they also leaked. I returned the second pair also. These boots are comfortable and do fit true to size but not a work boot to wear if the ground is wet, your feet will be soaked. So if you are getting them to only wear in dry conditions they would be a great boot otherwise get a different boot.

Not made in USA and poorly constructed. Rear pull tab broke on first use. A poor replica of the Maine Hunting Shoe

Too narrow and too short in length. Not a shoe I could walk in.
Shipment arrived the week after it was scheduled (and needed).
Returned.
Not an LL Bean quality or service experience I am used to having.

First light snow, first time wearing, immediate failure. Leather strap sewed on boot not properly attached. Stitched on edge of leather, pulled right out. Prices have gone up, quality has gone down on my shirts, pants and now my boots. Too bad, I have been shopping at LL Bean for years.
