I've often admired these LL Bean duck boots, even as a child. They lent prestige, class and that sort of "rugged good looks"to any outfit you would don. What gets me is their durability & yrs of wear from these;that you'd never have to buy another pair in a lifetime. Not to mention the fit in size is perfected;in that whether we wear thin or thick socks, they stay true to fit. I saw them a bit long on me for a 9-D,yet I did don a searsucker suit that day, after a half hour' attempt to get them on. Other than this, they are a staple in our wardrobe ...Just take getting used to.

These boots couldn't be more comfortable. Wore them right out of the box after applying some water repellent to the leather and there was no break-in period. Warm enough too with the lining though I haven't worn them in anything cooler than 40 degree weather yet. Definitely pay attention to the sizing recommendations. I typically wear a 10.5 in any other boot/shoe and bought the 9 here and it fit perfect.

As others mentioned, I would suggest ordering a size down. I wear a 10 and ordered a 9 - they fit just right. This model, in particular, looks terrific in hand. The craftsmanship is top-notch as well. If you're on the fence as to whether or not you should purchase these, don't be. Get 'em.

I've had "basic" LL Bean hunting boots for years. I finally broke down and bought these boots and I love them. They're very comfortable and the tumbled leather is soft. They run big. I usually buy size 14 shoes but bought these in size 13 and the fit well.

These boots fit well and are comfortable. I have to be careful not to wear too think of a pair of socks so my feet fit in the boots.

Great looking boots, great quality boots, hard to get due to their popularity. Came broken in with a beautiful tumbled leather, fit down one size is very roomy and comfortable. Thicker socks worked best, I could feel the rubber on my ankle on one side with thinner socks, this was fixed with some cloth tape for padding. Overall, I would highly recommend, tried out many other boots and these were amazing and look great.

I absolutely love these boots; however, they're too big- mostly around the ankle. I regretfully have to swap them out for a different style, since they're sold out of my size, in this style. Really comfortable and attractive boots. Customer service was even better than the boots. Stan answered my call on the first ring and was beyond kind. This was my first pair of LL Bean Boots; however, I am now a customer for life!!!

Bought these to replace a 25 year old pair passed down from my dad. Love the upgraded leather and lining in these boots. As comfortable as my old ones straight out of the box. I'm normally an 11.5 or 12 in non-bean boots and I originally got these in 11 but had to trade them for a 10. Customer service was amazing to work with.

I always wanted Bean Boots, not just ordinary ones but small batch boots. Upon opening the box I could smell the leather. It's so nice to own something handmade in the USA! I'm glad I ordered one size smaller. In my opinion doing so allows me to wear them comfortably with medium OR heavy weight socks. These will not disappoint, I highly recommend them.

Didn't really know if I wanted to spend this much for a pair of boots. I usually wear size 10. They were "sold out" and then I read that it was best to order a size smaller. Size 9's were still available so I ordered a pair. They are great. Size was perfect. They are very comfortable. I got extravagant and bought a couple pair of "Boot Sox" to go along with the boots. That topped off a great purchase. Thanks to LL. Very satisfied.

Love these boots. They look great plus they feel great. Took me almost 2 months to finally be able to order these as they kept selling out. Although as much I love these boots, I do wish the tongue were attached to the upper part of the boots like the other Bean boots, that way your feet will stay dry up to ankle deep in water. With the tongue detached, it's only water proof up to slightly above the stitching. Other than that, i love it.

I have just received these boots, so I can't comment on them other than to give some advice, and, if you are considering their purchase, definitely order one size down. I wear a size 10 in EVERY footwear item I purchase, and, followed recommendations and ordered size 9. And, the fit is perfect, with thinner, athletic type socks as well as mid thickness, heavier socks. And, if you are considering the small batch boots, do not delay in ordering them. They go out of stock very quickly and that's it for the year... Quality of material and construction are well up to the usual LL Bean standards, so I am sure I will be as pleased with these boots as the many other LL Bean items I have purchased over the years.

I purchased a pair of this style boot last fall when they came out with them in the small batch. I wore them all winter until the weather warmed up in the spring. They were cozy and very comfortable and are still like new. Getting ready to start wearing them again very soon. Try a pair you will be very happy with them. Also there is no break in period with this boot. Thanks L.L. Bean for another fine product.

I ordered these well over a month ago and they just came today. They are on my feet as I type this review. I have owned a pair of ll bean gum boots for over 35 years and this is my first pair of actual boots. I saw these on TV and knew I wanted a pair. I really admired the lining color and the tumbled leather. Well let me say that out of the box these look even better than they did on TV or in the catalog. First thing was to try on and happily as I expected the size nine fit me perfectly. I had a pair of heavy weight socks on when trying on. I put in laces and walked around in them. They feel like I've been wearing them for years. Not sure if the tumbled leather is the reason but they don't feel stiff at all. I removed the laces and put on a nice application of the Bean boot guard on all the leather then redid the laces. These are very handsome boots. I have no doubt that they will provide me with a lifetime of use and knowing your incredible warranty makes any purchase from Bean a "no brainer". I will be purchasing some boot socks soon as well and also an insulated insole to complete these awesome boots. I want to give a special shout out to AMY who made my boots. I thinks its a really cool and very personal touch to receive a hand signed card from the person who sewed your pair of boots. Really really nice touch. I can't say enough about how much I like these. Ready for a rainy muddy cold day to put them to the test. It was well worth the wait for these small batch boots. Thank you for being such a great company providing quality products at a fair price and providing the best service by far anywhere. Thanks again Amy

My first pair of Bean boots! I settled on these when they came out with the fall "small batch" because they seemed like a good compromise between the original and insulated models, with a little extra flair thrown in. Ordered them online with a four-week delivery estimate, and received them in three. At first I was surprised that the tongue wasn't gusseted all the way up as the originals are, but I find I don't really miss it. The tumbled leather was an excellent choice; they felt perfectly broken-in straight out of the box. An option well worth choosing! The only thing I changed was to swap out the factory insoles for a running-store brand, not because of any faults with the stock insoles, but because I do well with a little extra structure and wear them in everything. About the sizing: as with most online shopping, it's important to pay attention to the sizing chart, rather than just ordering your typical size. I wear a 9-9.5 in my standard work boots and running shoes, so I sized down as recommended and ordered these boots in an 8, which turned out to be just right. They were still a touch roomy with standard lightweight cotton socks, but I'd also ordered a pair of "Bean boot socks" on a whim, and wow, did they ever make a surprising difference. Strongly recommended. Thanks to Bonnie for making this very fine pair of boots!

Been wanting a pair of bean boots for some time now. When I saw these announced in the small batch lineup I knew that I'd be getting them. The flannel lining is comfy and warm without being too much (I generally like "insulated" boots as I get too warm in them unless hunting or playing in the snow with the kids). They fit a little big - perfect for warmer midnweight socks. They're a little too roomy with thin athletic socks so buy a size down if you primarily wear those. Great support - comfy all day and look nice too! I wanted something in between my everyday leather shoes and my insulated hunting boots for cool and wet weather days that look nice with causal wear. These are perfect. Now I feel like I need the low cut ones... Thanks again!! Love em.

As soon as I saw these announced in the Spring I knew I'd be purchasing them. The flannel lining is the perfect touch to an already legendary product. The tumbled leather is nice and soft out of the box. They do run extremely large. I'm a size 15 in most footwear, can fit in some LL Bean footwear in a size 14 but wound up with these in a 13 (after exchanging the size 14 I originally ordered). Get these while they last. I look forward to wearing them for many years to come.

I've been shopping at Bean for sometime now and have had several different products, including different pairs of boots. I've been wanting these since the small batch items were introduced. They look good in the pictures, but they look even better in person, especially the colors in the flannel. The tumbled leather is really soft and I can tell it's going to easily form to my feet. I'm a 10 - 10.5 in dress shoes and wear 11 in tennis shoes. I ordered these in a size 9 and they fit perfectly. The fit is so great that I'm able to wear these comfortably in thick, wool socks or even thin dress socks. Thanks to my boot maker Brittany!

Just received them today. They were back ordered everywhere but I was able to find a store that had them and got them within 5 days. I have to say that they are more comfortable right out of the box then my unlined 8" bean boots after having them for 6 months. I bought the same size as my unlined bean boots and they are a perfect fit. Just waiting on the weather to get cold so I can see how warm they are. I don't think that I'll be let down.

I've been eyeing these since Bean introduced the 'small batch' boots. This is my 2nd pair of Bean Boots (unless you count the Mocs; then it's my 3rd). I have a pair of unlined 6" for fall wear and was looking for something that offered a little more warm for day-to-day use in the wintertime (work is causal, so I thought these would be great in a rather cold office during the winter months). I'm normally a 10.5 in running shoes (11 in Sperry boat shoes), so a size 9 Bean Boot is a perfect fit, even w/the rag wool Bean socks. Although I cannot yet speak to their overall warmth, I tried these on (by the way, they were back ordered, but came a month early, and were delivered on a Saturday!) w/a pair of heavy socks and they were awesome! Fit is true and the flannel is VERY comfortable and offers extra warmth on the upper. I had almost forgot about the tumbled leather, which makes them stand out a bit more than the classic tan/brown Bean Boot. I am very excited to wear these in appropriate weather; however, New England is being stubborn this year, so I'm going to have to wait a little longer! Shout out to Sarah, my "bootsmith" - great work!!! As always, Bean delivers w/quality product. Thank you!
