My old walking shoes falling apart from wear, I got online and chatted with a customer service rep, who was very helpful. So far, so good. Comfortable shoes, great price. What else could you ask for?

This is is like the third pair my husband has gotten over the years!! He is just so satisfied! When he wears a pair out! He doesn't say he needs new shoes - "just order me another pair from LL Bean!"

Walking 50 to 60 miles a week requires comfortable, light weight shoes with a good tread. So far so good. If I get 900 miles I will be pleased.will write another review when I wear out the shoes. However, because of the comfort, I am ordering a second pair now.

Comfortable, waterproof as stated

This shoe was exactly what I was looking for. The size was true. It is of high quality construction and has a substantial sole which makes walking on smooth and rough terrain easy and comfortable. I like the ventilated construction which helps keep my feet cool, but material is strong and looks to be long-lasting. I bought the blue shoe and it looks great, too. Thumbs up on this shoe!

The Trail Model 4 Ventilated Hiking Shoes my wife got me for my birthday are the ideal lo-cut hikers. They are snug yet roomy, wide enough at the toe not to cramp me yet tight enough not to cause my feet to slide forward when hiking downward, and the tread has superb traction on multiple surfaces. They are light enough for easy packing yet appear sturdy enough for long life. I am very happy with them, as is my wife who has a pair as well.

I was skeptical purchasing a below ankle hiking shoe; however, these are the most comfortable and stable hiking shoe I have ever worn. Light weight, breathable, and very sturdy. The soles are especially gripping. They were super comfortable right out of the box. Highly recommended for the serious (or casual) hiker.

Originally I purchased these shoes as replacements for the sneakers I wore all summer to landscape, mow, dig, prune; anything hot and dirty. When I tried them on I couldn't bring myself to abuse them. They fit great; very comfortable. They looked good; much better that LL Beans internet photos. Right now they're my goto shoes for running errands and going out to breakfast.

These are light-to-medium-weight trail sneakers which fit true to size. The break-in was minimal (a couple of hours) and painless. The heel platform has a broad and padded strike, which is a blessing for a chronically painful Achilles tendon. So far, this is the best shoe of its type which I have bought in a long time, and I just ordered and received the waterproof model.

Hicked Acadia with these shoes and only broke in on a walk or two before we went up. Recommend they were prefect especially in the warmer weather

On my feet all day (on concrete) with the Trail Model 4 Ventilated Hiking Shoe. Very comfortable. Great for weekend hikes. Well made.

I bought these for my husband and he is thrilled. He says they are comfortable, he's happy and they look good.

Love this show. Very comfortable. Breathable upper & insole. The best part is when I pull my bare foot out, the insole stays put. Haven't been hiking yet, only long walk around the neighborhood.

I have two other pair of this style shoe from L.L.Bean , they are water proof and I like them, but they are pretty solid. I like this ventilated shoe because its a little lighter and breaths better. very comfortable.

These are supportive and comfortable for general walking use.

This is the 4th pair of this shoe I have purchased over the years. They are very comfortable, I wear them every day. I credit this particular shoe with helping cure my Plantar fasciitis problem. I would definitely recommend the shoe.

While shopping online for a good hiking shoe I checked out L.L. Bean's website and found the Men's Trail Model 4 Ventilated Hiking Shoes. I usually don't order shoes online because I like to see how they fit first. I read the reviews and they seemed to be pretty good so I ordered a pair for me. I tried them on as soon as they arrived and they were very comfortable. The size and width were true to size but most of all they were very comfortable. They went on their first hike today in the Arizona mountains and they performed great. 5.3 miles later and no complaints. If needed I will purchase another pair in the future. They are great shoes.
