This shoe is a well constructed and sturdy platform for walking. Great arch, didn't have to change out the arch that came with the shoe.

These shoes were just as described in the catalog and my husband loves them. Perfect fit and comfort! We will keep coming back when he needs more!!!

I have a very wide foot and normally can only buy shoes from one brand at $200 - $250 a pair, size 4E. I took a chance on these that they might be wide enough and they are. Excellent fit and quality. I'm very happy with my purchase. They look great and the leather uppers are nice.

I purchase a lot of clothes from LLB but usually not shoes. I will rethink that. These are the best fitting, most comfortable shoes I have purchased in years. They are working out perfect for my mowing and yard work.

I bought these for my son for our 4-week road trip this summer. They have been perfect for our hikes on dirt trails, rocky / rooty trails, gravel trails, and paved trails. They allow his feet to breathe and not get too hot. He is so happy with them and so am I.

I was happy to find the shoes in my 11 and 1/2 wide size hard to find in your standard store. I used these trail shoes extensively in death valley California. We avoided the valley floor because of a major extreme heat advisory with temperatures rising to 104 and 106 and so most of our trails took place in the Panamint mountains including the trail to telescope and the trail to the wild Rose peak.

Bought these to replace the pair that were worn out. My husband wore these almost everyday for the past 4 years. The shoes have a great grip and don't slip; they're also well ventilated and allow his foot to breath. Very comfortable shoes.

This is my third pair the Trail Model Ventilated hiking shoe. I like the ventilation, coolness, light weight and quick drying after some moisture/water on them. I just put them out to dry in the bright sun and they are ready in an hour or so, including insoles. They are daily walkers around the house, yard and streets/parks. Walk my dog an hour a day in them. The excellent soles last at least a year or two. The mesh toes frayed when I neglected my nails, but know better now. Because the ventilated Trail Model hikers are SO reasonably price, I have two pair to switch them out so they dry thoroughly. I also have a water-proof model, which is helpful in the winter when it's colder. Glad LLBean continues to offer this hiking shoe. I hope to own several more pair.

I've purchased one each year for two years. The only problem I've had is my big toe cuts the stitching in front and loosens the web. My local shoe repair man stitched it again and put liquid leather in the toe. With my second pair I had him do it before I wore them and had no problem.

After wearing Northface tail sneakers, I found these more comfortable while supportive.

I did try them on in the store but they didn't have the color I wanted. I was happy that the shipping time was short. They're comfortable and durable.

This sneaker is true to size and very stable. I have always worn New Balance sneakers and this sneaker is more comfortable.

This is my third pair of Men's Trail Model 4 Ventilated Hiking Shoes that I have purchased in the past 9 years. The first pair would have lasted much longer if our lovable Labrador did not decide to use one of my shoes as a chew toy. The 2nd pair lasted much longer. I purchased a replacement pair this year after the inside lining finally wore out after many years of service. The mesh outers are breathable and the shoe fits remarkably well. I spend most of my day walking or working in the yard in one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I have ever owned. When I wear out the current pair, I hope LL Bean will still be selling Men's Trail Model 4 Ventilated Hiking Shoes. I will definitely buy another pair.

This is my 2nd pair- one for work, one for play. Great fit and durability. Great value for the price.

Great product

I had purchased a different model shoe from Bean some time ago that was at least 1/2 US size too large, but this pair fits quite well and was comfortable from the first moment that I put them on. The sole is supportive, and the toe box adequately roomy.

At first I was worried that these wouldn't work. With the first few wearings I felt a little strain in the achilles. (I'm a runner) After a few hiking miles of working them in though they feel fine. They're well ventilated so if you wear them in the colder month's, I'd recommend some heavy wool socks with them. I'm looking forward to wearing them when it is warm out for hikes. They have great traction, support, and they fit great. I'm pleased with my purchase.

My husband has ordered these hiking boots before. He doesn't hike much any more but we still walk our dog and these boots are very comfortable for him. He has trouble with shoes as he is a diabetic but not with these.

Have worn these on several hikes. They are very comfortable and light weight. Seemed like they did not require much break in time. Good traction on different surfaces. Great shoe for the money.

Very lightweight, extremely comfortable, with a deep tread. These hiking shoes are very sharp looking and comfortable. They "breathe" well on long walks and hikes.
