These are great walking shoes that fit true to size and are cool and comfortable. I have Plantar Fasciitis and these shoes really help with the inserts that come with the shoe and will accommodate custom inserts.

My husband absolutely loves these shoes, has been wearing them almost daily since he took them out of the box. He claims they are the most comfortable shoes he has ever put on his feet. You can't beat that for a recommendation.

Just wore these shoes on a mission trip to Mexico. Love them. My feet stayed cool and comfortable all day long. I've been looking for a shoe I could use as a dress shoe or light hiking and this one is the one.

I ignored reviews that recommended ordering a half size larger than my normal, 9 medium. Had to exchange for 9.5 medium. Process was painless and I really like the new shoes. Thanks, Bean, for the excellent product and service.

I purchased these shoes for both moderate hiking and daily use. They have exceeded my expectations and I find I'm wearing them more often than Iplanned.

I have these ventilated hikers in the boot version and they are ultra-comfortable! I wish I'd bought 2 pairs at the time of purchase cuz they aren't available anymore in the high-sided boot version. Please Please LLBean...bring back the boot version! Really don't want the h2o proof version. Love how cool and comfortable the ventilated ones are.

Good looking shoe, comfortable, keeping it for church and casual occasions

I had a similar shoe from Cabela's which wore out quickly. This one is much better and I had an older version a while ago which lasted a long time.

This is the second pair I have purchased. I was so impressed with the first pair that I had to get another. They are so comfortable and supporting. Easy to clean. I highly recommend these hiking shoes!!!!

Bought for anticipated hikes on upcoming western trip. Well made, yet light in weight. Often shoes of this size are heavy, clunky. Usual great Bean quality.

Excellent fit on a good looking shoe. Fit like a glove on day 1. Very comfortable! Solid, neat stitching. My chosen color blends well with khakis (also from LL Bean). The tread is very good for our very snowy Minnesota winter. Would definately buy this product again

I wear these for general use. They are comfortable and wear well. They tend to be heavier than a sneaker but lighter than a true hiking shoe. I have flat feet and wear orthotics so shoes like this are quite useful. Bean is one of the few places I feel comfortable ordering shoes online.

I bought these shoes mainly to replace sneakers during the cold winter months. I found them to be very comfortable, light weight and easy to walk in. In fact, I liked them enough to buy a second pair. These shoes are not waterproof, you have to spend an extra $30 to get the waterproof version. I think they could have added the waterproof membrane for a lot less than $30, which would have made these a much better winter shoe. The size is not consistent between pairs of shoes. The second pair I bought was a bit longer than the first. I exchanged them for a third pair, which was a tad shorter than the first, but still fit nicely. So, if you like the shoe but the fit isn't quite right, a phone call will get you a replacement, which may do the job.

I've worn this same model shoe for more than 3 years, with three old pair in my garage, having worn down the soles from many walks with my dogs in our neighborhood and local trails, on mixed surfaces of pavement and dirt. I log a lot of miles per month, and find the shoes hold up very well. Generous in size, they do best with thicker socks. Sturdy heel box, good upper leather, cool mesh in warmer weather. Nice enough looking to wear to casual dinner, movie, etc. A good example of LL Bean value!

I could not be happier with this purchase to date. The style has a classic look and seems to be well made. It is a comfortable fit from the moment you put it on from the box. I have yet to try it on the rugged trails, but I am certain that it will not disappoint as it has performed well on the moderate trails.

I cringe when the 14 wide is sold out. This is my go to shoe. i get two when theyre on sale. They last me 4-6 months apiece, every day, working on asphalt parking lots walking around and working. They fit right out of the box. Minimal breaking in required. Great shoe. its no redwing boot, but then again, its no ll bean shoe. Comfortable like youre not wearing it.

I walk 5 miles every morning on hot asphalt roads. These shoes are great for this. Hot summer days in NE Florida can be challenging for your feet. These shoes are very cool, comfortable and good looking. Sizing is the same as dress shoes.
