Nice boots but a little different from previous versions. A bit tighter on the top of the foot. Definitely take some break in time. Haven't had bad weather yet to test leak tightness.

They are sturdy. It took a day or two for them to break in and be reasonably usable. I have found that there is not much variation available due to few shoelace eyelets, but as long as I tie them tightly then they seem to fit snug enough. The traction is great.

Had to return, too small. Very well made. Size up if you go to buy.

A little taller than I expected, tend to hang up on the bottom of my jeans, but otherwise a good fit and comfortable for a new shoe.

Fit well. comfortable and easy to break in for hiking. Oddly enough when first ordered, the delivery date was mid December (this was an early November inquiry). After being resigned to almost a month's wait for delivery, the order was placed. Long story short, they were delivered three days later. That's nice, but it begs the question of LL Bean either not knowing what they have in their inventory, or they really pulled a rabbit out of the hat for this order. Bean's has been wicked inconsistent as far as availability of inventory and their knowledge of they what actually have on hand!

For almost 20 years, every year my spouse gets a new set of these boots. The best part is these feel more like a sneaker than a boot. The worst part is every year the sizing changes a little and the quality goes down. Pretty sure we're going to start looking for a new boots becuase the last set didnt even last a year. What happened to LL's quality?!

I bought this boot in June 2023. I like the looks of the boot, appears very well made. My concern is the size I ordered is not fitting properly. I am normally an 8 1/2 EE shoe. To be sure i could fit into this boot, especially if I had heavier socks in the fall, I ordered a 9 EE. I have only been able to wear them occasionally and only with thin compression socks, as even with them I found my toes touching the end of the boot and my feet have developed corns from them being way too snug. All of my other shoes and most recent other like boot I just bought from another vendor at 9EE have had no problem with the length or width. If I could exchange them for a slightly "wider" boot by their measurements I would do so as I really like the look and feel of this boot while I can wear for short periods of time-but this is as wide as they offer. If my actual boots received were not mislabeled in size, then I would recommend you order larger & wider than you normally would.

I have owned several pairs of this boot throughout the years. I use them for everything. From hiking, office work, walking, yard work, farm work. Comfortable boot and very supportive of my ankles.

I bought these hiking boots for a late summer adventure on mixed terrain. At this point I've put about 25 miles on them and they are getting "broken in." PROS: the durable Vertigrip soles (I have prior experience with them) perform well on rocky trails, scree, uneven terrain, pavement, and even slick tile floors. They also shed mud reasonably well. While I haven't really put the waterproofing to the test in puddles or streams, it has performed well in tall wet grass that soaked the outside. Fit is as expected with medium weight socks. The collar is a bit higher than I'm used to but is getting more comfortable with use provides good protection and support. CONS: boot is a bit heavy. Sole is hard and doesn't have much give. Usually have to adjust tongue for comfort (might get better when fully broken in). BOTTOM LINE: a very good boot at an attractive price point. Appropriate for day hikes and light/medium backpacking.

Boots break in easily. Tongue must be tucked just right for comfortable fit. Must pull knot extremely tight to keep boot from loosening. Overall, worth the price

I tend to twist my ankles if I step on a pebble the wrong way, so I favor a hiking boot style shoe to give me better ankle support. These boots do that very well and are rugged and comfortable. However, their water resistance makes them retain heat. So, although that feature is very handy for rainy/snowy days and walking in wet woods and along damp stream beds while fishing, wearing them under normal conditions makes my feet sweat profusely. I'll be picking up a pair of the "breathable" version for everyday wear.

So far I am pleased with the overall fit. Time will tell if product is as comfortable and long wearing as a discontinued model I wore for years.

Trail Hiking boots fit and function well; didn't feel too heavy. I wore them with an orthotic instead of the included support. They were comfortable after even 8 hours of wear.

I have just started to break the boots in. The first wear was hard, but the last two were much better. I really like them.

Great looking. Waterproof. I should have bought the next 1/2 size up. I usually wear 11 in most shoes. These were snug when trying on. Figured they break in but i probably have to wear them more. Other than that, they're fine.

Wonderful and comfortable hiking boots. Gave it a 4 because we had to wait about a year on backorder to get them. THAT'S TOO LONG!

Wanted to love these, great appearance and features, but the toe box is quite small for my otherwise average size feet.

These are taller than I would consider a mid boot, but that being said, they are more supportive. I walked around with 25 pounds on my back and they handled the load. Once I replaced the insoles with a good quality ones, they are comfortable. Haven't tested water repellent ability.

I "backordered" the water proof hiking sneakers (boots) at the end of winter. LL Bean had ran out of stock. I was to use these boots on snowy days. The boots were delivered in May. So I haven't put the boots to a true test. BTW, these boots are made smaller than the label to be. My normal size is 9M. I had to exchange them for 91/2 W. The customer service e rep was very helpful with my return/exchange. The replacement boots fit comfortably and feel like high quality material. Very well made. I would recommend my friends to buy them.

These are really nice. I didn't give 5 stars because they are so stiff--I'm sure that they will soften as they are worn. They seem to be well made.

As always the product is well made but there are some design issues. I was happy with theoverall look and fit. However there are a number of things that previous models had or did better on. First, i was disappointed in that these only had one metal catch for the laces one each side. Previously there were two. The pull strap on the back is rather thin and cuts into your finger when you pull on it. It also feels like it might rip easily. The laces don't stay tied, they open up very easily when you don't want them to. This becomes very annoying and dangerous. Other than that I love the color and the fit.

these are really ince shoes, great for rough terrain, I just wish the wide was wider , or possible an extra wide, the are fairly tight on me so I cannot where them often a half day in them and my feet need about a week to recover
