The doctor told me I have no heel cushion left in my foot. Needless to say this is very painful. These boots have been terrific to walk and hike in. They are comfortable and have helped keep my feet pain free. I would recommend these to everyone!

When Cabelas disco'd my Outfitter boots, I had to find a new go-to boot and, after a couple misses, I found this LLB Trail Model. It is terrific - comfortable, durable, great ankle support, great fit for my WIDE foot and high in-step. Hoping LLB makes these for a LONG time.

This is the sixth pair I have purchased over several years. There have been changes to the "light hiker" but the quality has remained high. They are my everyday shoes. They provide excellent support and wear like iron.

These comfortable, not too heavy hiking boots give good grip on easy rocks and are excellent trail boots.

I haven't actually had the opportunity to try these out in snow or other weather conditions, as they were backordered until now - the Spring. However, I find them to be very comfortable to walk in on dry surfaces. I believe they will prove to be an excellent pair of winter boots. Thank you.

After trying them all...LL Beans Trail Model 4 wins....I now own 4 pair and alternate them for daily wear. My podiatrist suggested I start wearing an ankle try boot for walking (2.2 miles twice each day) to ease pain & slight swelling I was experiencing. Tried many styles and brands and ended up with 4 pairs of these great boots! Excellent ll bean quality of construction materials and craftmanship, Superior fit with "toe room' that so many others lack and great ankle support, Great looks too - all at a price that no one can beat. My first pair are now 11 months old and are holding up very well. ll bean - Please do not change this excellent product in any way..

I bought these for my son. They seem to run small; we exchanged a 9EE for a 10EE, which would normally be large for him, but he found them extremely comfortable. We did a lot of hiking,as is our wont, while he was visiting, & he was thoroughly pleased. It was cold & snowy the whole time.

After a short break-in period, these boots became very comfortable. It should be noted that they are "low volume" boots, meaning that there is not room for two pairs of socks. My husband generally prefers to wear a thin liner sock inside a thicker wool sock. With these boots, even after exchanging for the wide version, he can only wear one pair of medium weight hiking socks. If you want them for really cold weather or if you insist on wearing liner socks, they may not work for you. If one pair of hiking socks is what you prefer, they are perfect. My husband will wear them for conditions when one pair of socks works for him -- for work boots, light hiking boots, and street wear in messy weather. He is a professor in New England and they are good for walking around campus as well, especially since the colors and detailing are tasteful and not over-done. The quality of construction is what you would expect from LL Bean. A good purchase.

I received these as a Christmas gift for Christmas 2016. They are the most durable hiking boot I have ever had. They received their baptism in the Great Smoky Mountains this past October, having hiked 28 miles in 4 days (not bad for 59-years-old I suppose). There was an abundant amount of roots on the trails, both hidden and pronounced, and I must have caught the side of my hiking shoe (near where the shoe meets the sole) at least a dozen times, yet there was no sign whatsoever of a tear. In addition, the hard sole supplies outstanding support that smooths out even the most jagged rocks and pronounced roots (and there were many). I was literally shocked at how good my feet felt at the end of the day. Wearing hiking socks, I found no signs of blisters or even friction when I pulled my hiking shoes off at the end of the day. I traversed several small streams (about 2 inches) and at no point did water seep through. These were one of the best gifts I have ever received.

I got these for my husband who needed a good quality, comfortable walking boot for work. He walks about 10 miles per day on the job and has told me these were comfortable from day one. They are also a good looking boot/shoe which is what he needs as a manager in his organization. Glad we bought these and would definitely recommend.

A week ago, I brought these shoes for my husband. I got them 1 day early, and I am very satisfied. They were very good in quality. My husband liked them, that they were comfortable. We received great service.

I bought these for working on my rural property where I needed a lightweight boot with a higher top and gusseted tongue to keep out dirt, weed seeds, and other debris. These boots do that. I've also done some day hikes on rough, rocky trails where they have performed well. I wouldn't use them for backpacking or for rough off trail hiking, where I'd want thicker, stiffer soles, but that's not their niche. I haven't worn them in wet conditions so I can't comment on how waterproof/resistant they are. For light hiking and as a work boot where steel toes aren't required, I rate them as five stars.

I am not a devoted hiker, but I have been taking short hikes to get into better shape. These boots feel great and are well-constructed. I think they will last a long time. Good purchase!

I was a little concerned about the width after reading a few reviews. I think the fit is excellent I have a wide foot and they fit great. This is a good quality shoe I am ready to walk the dogs. They look nice too and the warranty is outstanding. If you have never bought shoes from LL Bean you should I am a believer!

I ordered these for one of my sons after another son raved about a pair he had had for probably more than a year. The two pairs of boots are not identical but strongly similar. This new pair has been very pleasing to the owner, comfortable from the start, rugged over rough terrain and waterproof as advertised. Thank you, LLBean!

Very well made boot. Extremely comfortable, well-fitting foot bed but hurt my ankles at the top of the boot. Wish I could wear these but had to return. Maybe I'll try the low-cut. Problem was more mine than the boot's. If you do well with high-top boots you would probably enjoy these.
