A great looking and well fitting boot right from the moment I put them on. No 'break-in' time needed. Very comfortable.

Most comfortable shoes I wear them everyday I've hiked in the white mountains I had both knees replaced and have a bad ankle they seem to have great support and I've no problem with knees or ankle I can't say the shoes are what keeps them heathy but I believe they help

I have injuries from the military and need support in my ankle to walk trails. This boot gives support and comfort on rough surfaces. I broke them in walking my dog on the trails while the weather was cold and wet. No problems. Will use them next winter and expand my hiking distance to more than the three mile loop I was walking.

I live on the coastal plain of Eastern North Carolina, so I don't have much use for hiking shoes most of the time. But I recently spent a few days in Asheville, NC and did some hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains. These shoes performed well, giving me good traction on the rocks and uneven trail surfaces. I didn't have occasion to put the water-proofing to the test. My feet never felt over-warm. In fact, the shoes were so comfortable I wasn't thinking about them much at all. At the end of each day, my feet were surprisingly un-fatigued. They are a little narrow at the widest part of my foot (just behind the toes), but I didn't have time to experiment with the wider size before my trip.

Hiking boots fit great. I wear them a few times a week hiking. I like that they are waterproof especially since I hike in the woods a lot.

These are probably the best pair of hiking boots that I have ever had. I started wearing them straight of the box and the fit was perfect. They feel really great and now I wear them every day. I needed the height of the shoes to support my weak ankles and they are just fine for that. I wish they were an inch taller, but they support better than any others I had tried.

I've had several pairs of the house-brand built-up-running-shoe-style of hiking boot over the years. I'm still using a pair I got ten years ago. This current model, which I bought last year, seems even better -- lighter and more comfortable, and actually wide enough for my hoof-like foot. I said to my wife, "These feel like bedroom slippers" compared to other boots. Only a moderate exaggeration. I think I might try the low-cut style, too.....

Boots fit great! Very comfortable and plenty warm for hiking down cold and snowy paths during mid winter! The soles are perfect for gripping the snowy ground. Will add studs when icy but not bad without them. Bought these for winter walking in shallow snow and snow shoeing but also for wet summer camping and mountain hiking. Can't wait to try them then! Very pleased!

This is my THIRD pair of these boots. I am wearing the original pair of boots purchased on March 2016. I wear them daily for a period of 14-16 hours. I use one pair for special occasions (I'm a full time RVer and my dress code consists of wearing blue jeans, a new pair for going out). This purchase was to insure that when the original boots do wear out, that I have something to replace them with. Every company changes their product line over time so I want to buy these boots while still available. SO, to the review: !) They fit perfectly and required NO break-in period. I have hiked the Appalachian Trail and like to have a roomy toe box. I like to be able to wiggle my toes. You could possibly get by with a 1/2 size smaller boot if you wanted a tighter/snugger fit. 2) I have a dog that needs to be walked several times a day and doesn't care that it's raining or snowing. The walks can take an hour or more. These boots remain dry and warm even after walking in some really lousy weather. 3) After almost 3 years of daily wear, they have not shown any signs of the soles cracking nor de-lamination where the sole is attached to the upper. 4) For the skeptics reading this review, I am not now nor have I ever been an employ of L L Bean. I AM a customer willing to pay a little extra to get a quality product. I have returned and exchanged some items because I ordered the wrong size. NEVER because of the quality. I would rather pay a couple of $ (and often no more) extra and get an item that I'll actually wear for years than pay less and have to replace within a year of normal use. 5) There are many companies selling what they market as a quality product at some very high prices. It has been my experience that LL BEAN not only sells a quality product, but also stands behind it.Nothing lasts forever, but you'll actually wear their clothes out. QUALITY VS QUANTITY.

My husband loves these shoes. Says they are extremely comfortable and loves that they are waterproof as well. He also likes how you don't have to unlace them all the way and can slip them off easily.

I purchased these boots in July 2018 to replace a pair of LL Bean boots that I had worn for 8 years. I broke this pair in by hiking several weeks in Calistoga, CA, Telluride, CO, and Santa Fe, NM over rugged and rocky trails in the mountains. They are very sturdy and comfortable. Most of my hiking is done on trails in the middle TN area which was training for a trip to Tanzania. In October I hiked the 8 day Lemosho route to the summit of Kilimanjaro and the boots were great both in comfort and warmth. During summit night when the temp's dropped to zero I was comfortable with just a pair of liner socks and a pair of wool socks, my feet never got cold. These are great boots for the price and quality.

I love these boots. They are stiff in the back, but it helps keep my ankles straight. I wore these for a week to work in an office, and they helped with my foot caused back pain. After about of week of wear, you should be used to them. Know they don't break in like a favorite pair of old boots. They are rigid for hiking, which is fine by me.

I love the color & fit of these boots. Will not using them for hiking per se. Will be using for mowing tall grasses & needed sturdy boots for protection. These do come up above ankles for added support & protection.

These look great and fit great. I haven't worn them enough to see how they'll last but expect as with all my LL Bean products they are more than durable.

I bought these great light insulated boots for winter hiking and bushwhacking last year. I waited to Post a review so I had a chance to put these to the test during winter. Primarily, I bought these boots because I wanted lighter weight boots that have some insulation without the weight and heavy insulation of boots made for sitting in tree stand during cold winter months. This boot has excellent traction, griped well on slippery winter ground. Extremely comfortable, I can wear these boots all day without my feet getting sore or sweating during winter hunting on the move. At $99 these boots are a bargain. LL Bean comes through with quality and value once again!
