So far I love the boots. I have taken them on four medium length hikes, including my last one which was 8 miles in about 6 inches of slush. Even in the mountains I had no problems with traction and my feet stayed dry. I couldn't be happier!

I love this boot. Unfortunately I sent them back. I have bad bunions and even after surgery, my feet are very wide. Other LlBean boots have fit, so I thought these might fit as well. I wish there was a way to measure the width of the foot so that sizing could be more precise. Great boot.

Great fit, wears well for my walks in the cold Chicago winter from parking lot to the hospital entrance. Also comfortable enough to wear as I make my rounds on the hospital floors and even into the OR theaters for performing infant blessings.

Small toes were a little snug, I used a stretcher to have a little more room to eliminate the slight tightness. Most brands typically have a problem fitting my foot with loose heel and tight toes. usually no combination of width and length is right. I have to be lucky to get a shoe that fits right. If fit is close I can adjust a little with a toe stretcher or tighten with a heel insert. For long walks or tougher hikes i need a perfect fit. Haven't yet tested waterproofness nor slippery wet rocks and ice on trails or roads this time of year but so far the shoe sole feels like it will be ok. I like the looks of the boot and the feel driving a vehicle and walking around the neighborhood and stores on snowy rainy days. They get a bit too warm for wearing in a warm house or other heated facilities.

Bought them for my son who immediately tried them on and said they were great and now are his "go to" shoes for everything

Best hiking boots I've ever purchased. Great for hiking - grip well, very comfortable, durable, waterproof.

Have worn these daily for years(work, play, hunting, fishing). Only problem I have ever had with these is a couple of pairs leaked.

This replaced an earlier pair I used for many years, so was very glad to see they were still available to order. The toe box size on these are great for my feet with no pinching or blisters that I experienced with other hiking boots in the past.

They are comfortable , good support. Waterproof holds up as I walk a lot of wet places.

Nice boot for its price. I was looking for a reasonably priced boot to give me more ankle support while hiking and this does nicely.

Overall very satisfied. Easy to put on and lace up, decent ankle support.

When I first wore these boots on a 12 mile day hike, the tops seemed stiff and rubbed my ankles. I was thinking that I should have gotten the hiking shoes, instead. When I wore them for a 4 day, 40+mile hike in the Smokies, though, I was glad for the support as I definitely would have turned my ankles in some places. I think they probably broke in a little, as well. These boots are very light and comfortable on my feet. I use arch supports, and my feet felt better than they ever have hiking (and the day after, which is important).

These shoes fit perfectly and are comfortable.

My husband loves these shoes. He will be ordering another pair in the dark cement/sable when they are available in his size.

Just received yesterday another pair of Trail Model 4 Boots I ordered. Checked them out carefully this morning taking them out of the box. They still have the same premium quality craftsmanship, durable construction and tough and durable stitching that my first pair of Trail Model Boots I ordered from LL Bean more than 30 years ago had. Put them on and wore them all day at work - nonstop on my feet the entire day - and they still are the most comfortable hiking boots I've ever owned and my favorite pair of shoes to wear that I have. Whether hiking all day in the beautiful East Tennessee foothills of the Smoky Mountains or being on my feet nonstop for 10 hours at work all day, these boots are the most comfortable yet tough and durable boots I've ever owned. It's a Slam Dunk. . . . No Contest . . . . Bean is still THE Best!!

I have purchased these Hikers for years as I have found the fit is just right so I can order these with confidence. They are very comfortable and waterproof, and I like the new color option (Navy/Charcoal). I hope they continue with this color as it is very sharp looking. These hikers are very well made and I will continue to buy from LL Bean as I am very satisfied with these shoes!

I have narrow feet. Hard to find a hiking boot that fits well. These did when I added an arch support. Wore them right away on several 2-4 mile hikes. They were very comfortable right away and footing was firm. 5 stars from me.

Getting ready to order another new pair of the Men's Model 4 Trail Hiking Boots and been reading the reviews by customers saying the boots at the top above the ankle were too tight and rubbed their leg raw and were uncomfortable. From the very first time I put my boots on I realized I didn't need to use the eyelet at the top so I just skipped them and never have needed them. My boots still fit snuggly and with very active hiking and climbing the boots stayed snug and did a great job. Very comfortable. You just need to lace them in whichever way gives you the most comfort. Ordering my new pair today!

Excellent supportive comfortable hiking boots! Had other ones from Bean, needed a new pair to replace them. These are even better! The new color (Navy) is so much sharper looking that I ordered 2 pairs right away. Looks great with jeans. Thanks for making them in 2 color choices!

It's taken a while since the weather has been so miserable and I wanted to actually hike in these boots before writing a review. They seem comfortable and broke in well knocking around the house. I would have preferred 2 eyelets rather than one but I well live. On the hike the boot didn't slip and remained stable over rocks. It does the job.
