My son hikes a lot with Boy Scouts and these boots are a perfect balance between comfort and warmth and support. I have the same pair and have worn them for a year or so now - we both love them.

Comfortable right out of the box - and extremely good looking. LL Bean boot sizing can be a bit challenging - but not so with these (maybe it is just their leather/rubber boots). I normally am a 7 1/2 to 8. I ordered the 8 (also considered heavier socks) and the sizing was perfect. I'm a bit old to do too much hiking but bought these for the "dog park in the rain and mud." But they are so comfortable that they will get more than just the limited use.

When I received the boots I was impressed with the boots and fit perfectly, I need to have a 5/8" Lyft put in my right boot because of hip replacement and it worked perfectly my shoe guy said it was a great boot also.

These boots replace/update a pair (not L.L. Bean) that have seen the wars. The big difference is the height of the ankle guard. Incumbent pair is lower so it's taken a bit of getting used to having a bit-taller boot. Other than that, L.L. Bean quality so far, comfortable and seemingly rugged.

I purchase LL Bean shoes for my husband every year, size 11 D, either for Christmas or his birthday in Feb. he loves them, they are the only shoes he has ever had that last a year! all others in the past fell apart on him after about 2-3 months! these are great, well worth the price!

I'm usually hesitant to buy shoes/boots online that I have not tried on because sizes these days seem to vary so much from manufacturer to manufacturer. I Have a wide foot and my true size is 10 1/2. Sometimes I have to purchase size 11 which is a tad longer than necessary just so that the width will be a little better. In this case I decided to take a chance (with fingers crossed) on the 10 1/2 EE in hope of getting the best possible fit. As it worked out the boots fit like a glove, and I am very very pleased! The boots also have good ankle support, and feel fine on my feet. I can't testify to how water proof they are because it has not started raining as yet. I don't live in an area with marshes or other similar types of water obstacles, or lots of snow, so I'm not real worried about how the boots will perform when submerged often. They will probably be waterproofed enough for my particular needs. If I lived near wetlands I'd probably buy boots made out of rubber that are more suitable for that type of environment. So far, I'm very happy with my purchase.

The first time I put them on, I did a 7 mile hike in the Adirodacks. They were still just as comfortable at the end as when I started. Good investment.

This shoe is comfortable, fits snug as I prefer this type of shoe to fit. I had my first pair for three years, I am an adjuster on roofs, in fires etc. Even though it's design is for hiking, it is an awesome work shoe for me.

No break in period required for me, I put these boots on right out of the box and climbed Burnt Jacket Mountain in Jackman, Me. It felt like I had been wearing them for months, they were very comfortable. The day was showery and the trail was wet and muddy in places but my feet remained dry. I would definately purchase again.

Light weight, fits me well. I've worn Bean Trail model hikers for about six years. Waterproofing still works on older pair. No break-in time. A solid boot for day hikes and yard work.

This is my second pair; wore the first pair out on trails. Boot is light weight and well padded, and slightly higher above the ankle to provide more support and stability. I hope they don't feel the need to 'improve' it, as I plan to buy another pair when I wear out this pair.

Been purchasing from you since late 80s. My last pair lasted me years. This one is even better. Excellent ankle control, light on the feet, it cuddles my foot and balances my stride. I highly recommend this shoe. When I want quality, I buy LLBEAN. I am a lady, but I buy the men's version in my size, I find it holds me up better. I also purchased a pair for my husband and HE LOVES IT.

I really like the boot. I live in New York and walk around a lot - both concrete and parks. These boots are comfortable and supportive. Thank you!

The boots are a great fit -- not easy to find for folks with wide feet -- are water proof, and are well made. The recently ordered pair is just like the much-worn last pair except in a new color. Perfect.

I've had these boots for at least three years now. Did not want to comment until I had used them awhile. The fit is comfortable and snug, band like most boots, it stretches from use, although not much. The back of the heel slopes up slightly, which helps make the boots really comfortable to walk in. I've put a lot of miles on them on flat and mountainous terrain and during all seasons, including winter in snow. I even wear them while gardening when the ground and grass are wet. The photo shows me standing in running water with snow on the side. The outside of the boots are obviously wet, but the boots stayed dry and warm. I walked in the river until the water was halfway up the laces with no leakage. In another spot, I walked in deeper, faster water and some water sloshed of the tops of the boots. Yes, it was cold! But with thick socks, my feet warmed quickly. I can say these are the best boots I've ever had; and that includes my previous L.L. Bean boots, which I really liked, too. I was disappointed that the company has stopped selleing the older boots, but I'm glad they did. I love these newer ones.

Surprisingly lightweight, but what really amazed me was how comfortable they felt on my feet right out of the box. There was no painful break-in period. I put them on for three straight days of camping and hiking in Kentucky's beautiful Red River Gorge. They handled wading across small streams just fine, remaining dry and comfortable throughout the trip. These boots make me want to go hiking every weekend!

Initially, my requirements were for a boot that was comfortable and looked good even when they got dirty. Well, when I first tried them on they were really stiff, but after wearing them a few times I hardly notice any stiffness. Being an older man, I'm not quite as steady on my feet as I used to be, but these boots really shine when you get off the pavement and on uneven ground. The aggressive tread gives you plenty of traction and stability. They kept my feet dry when walking through wet grass and puddled water. These are the best boots I have ever worn and the price was right.
