I was hoping these would be great winter boots, but as others mentioned, the heel area was too big and slipped, no matter which socks i wore.
The toe area was fine, but based on the poor fit, i returned them.

Fashion boots are not rugged enough for hiking but sure do look pretty. I worry that the lacing system will break down quickly, eyelets are attached to the boots by flimsy cloth loops. Overall fit is slightly large, insoles are molded and removable. Kinda pricey for mediocre quality.

Loved the look, but had to return as I have arthritis in my big toe and these were a little wide and wore them shopping and the seam rubbed on toe joint and hurt like heck. Had to go to foot doctor. Sure wish I could have kept them.

I am returning these. The 7.5 is too narrow and the 8 is too long (I have wide feet and typically wear Keens). The boots are so warm that I can't add socks to make the 8s fit. They are also kind of a pain to lace up, the laces twist, and the eyelets move around weirdly as I tightened them, which I don't want to deal with in an expensive pair of boots. Other than the size issue, they were very comfortable and cute, though and were obviously good quality.

I gave 3 stars because I was disappointed with how the boots' condition was when I received it. The laces were undone, socks lint leftover from a previous try, and plastic tissues for separating the boots crumpled in a corner of the box. This is not the typical Llbean standard.
As for the boots, it was stylish and felt comfortable. But, toe box was too narrow and heel area too loose for me. So, I had to return it.

I love the style and the comfy soul but the tour box was too small. The length was good but when I walked I had pain in my toes. I reluctantly returned them. A wider tie box would have worked.

Back of boots are too loose. I was shocked that LL Bean got these boots from Myanmar.

These boots are comfortable & warm but very wide I ordered my reg shoe size and they're too big! I have to tie the laces really tight and wear big socks if there wasn't such a long wait for back order I would've exchanged them for a half a size smaller :(

I am here to write an additional comment, that the color of the Ash grey boot, is not in fact the color shown on the website.
The boots are a brown color... I thought at first that I had received the wrong ones, but they are in fact the Ash color I had ordered.
Still deciding whether to keep them or not. All other things about the boot are fine , but again... if you want a grey boot, these are not it.

The shoe strings are flat and cannot be easily cinched to give a tight fit, may also b e the shape of hooks through which they traverse--anyway they take forever to put on properly. The leather and style is fine.

I bought these boots and ended up returning them. They just fit large on me, size 10, and the color was definitely a brown and not ash/gray as pictured. Not what i was wanting.

I ordered the size I usually take in boots and shoes. There were way too big and I had to return them. I had gotten the smallest size offered, so there was no option order a smaller pair. Also the coloring on the leather was a bit strange.

This boot felt cheap. The leather was very stiff on the heel and it didn’t feel like the old LL Bean quality. Which is too bad because the bed of the shoe was comfortable but the materials were not what I would expect or want. I think they would rub and wear out quick. I sent back.

This is a very nice looking boot and the quality is good, overall the fit was big at my usual size 81/2. To many laces, if the boot had a side zipper, I would have considered trying a small an 8 size to see how the fit was.

I got these in January 2023 and love the look of them (I got the gray/ash ones). I am usually between an 8 and 8.5 and I tried both sizes. The 8s were definitely too tight on my toes, so I returned those. The 8.5s were great for my toebox, but the heel was ginormous and consequently my heels slipped around in them when I walked. However, I loved the way they looked so much and the heel-slipping wasn't causing any blisters at least, so I wore these for a couple months (and was walking at least 2-5 miles/day in them). However, I always had to pull the laces tight to try to minimize the heel-slipping, and as a result one of the shoelaces broke one day. I contacted Customer Service and they told me I was out of luck. They will not replace or even sell replacement shoelaces for these. This is horrible customer service. As a result, I am returning these boots and I am really hoping they will make them with a narrower heel next time, as everyone seems to have the same comment about the heel.

I can't seem to find LLBean boots that are comfortable enough. These looked great but just were too heavy and didn't seem comfortable. Sometimes I wonder if I'm putting them on correctly. Maybe in person with a sales person they would feel better. Too bad. Wanted to like them.

After wearing them about eight times, the back of the right boot split open, where the heel leather meets the ankle leather. It's a thin strip of darker suede and it is obviously weak. I have to return them. I was surprised because usually things I buy from LLBean are really sturdy. Unfortunately not THESE boots.

I wanted to love these because they are beautiful boots, but the heel cup is HUGE! I have normal width feet and have never had this problem with boots before. Even with my thickest socks on and the laces done up tight the shoe wanted to flop off of my foot. I can't go down a size because then the length would be too short. I'm so sad!

I didn't have chance to wear them. There is an issue with your sizes, I bought 9 1/2 first (it's a size I wear accross all the brands) and it was very big on me. I returned and got 9, which was too tight.

nope. reminded me of the song "herring boxes without topses" - unfortunately. these felt like i was wearing a box vs a boot. i have wide-ish feet. other reviewers stated the boots are wide and comfortable. they do run abnormally large. but i generally wear boots, don't wear tight footwear - these just fit poorly. rather boxy, not contouring the foot. i wanted to like them, but sizing down did not seem like a solution. i appreciate the llbean free return shipping.

I was really excited about these boots--that they came in gray. So the first thing I noticed when I opened the box is that they look brown. I checked the enclosed shipping sheet and it indicated gray were sent. Had they fit me--I have a narrow foot so finding boots to fit is a TASK--I would have considered keeping them. Maybe. I cannot promise. I have to wonder too how it is that some footwear look like BOATS and other footwear appears small and trim. You can guess which category these fall into.

I have had these boots for ~1.5 years, but I only worn them on 5 occasions (every day around-town wear; not for hiking or anything strenuous). The 5th time the back seam on the heel completely ripped. I contacted LL Bean to see if they can be repaired and they do not offer repairs on this shoe. Very disappointed in this shoe and even more disappointed with my experience with LL Bean customer service. I bought these boots for a lifetime, but I guess companies don't value that anymore. I'm hoping the local mom-and-pop shoe repair shop will be more helpful.

This item is actually my second pair. I bought my first pair in winter 2021-2022. I was very impressed with how warm my feet were while wearing the boots. Lo and behold, I looked down, and discovered that the seam in the back of one of the boots was falling apart. I was able to return that pair and get a new a new pair. Flash forward to now about a year and a half later. The same thing has happened again! I have not subjected the boots to excessive wear and tear. I simply wear them to work and to track practice. I would love to replace them but since I received them a year and a half ago, there is nothing I can do. I also think these boots are being discontinued since they are now on sale. I have attached a photo of my second pair as evidence. Needless to say, I am disappointed and sad in this lackluster product.

I first ordered a similar pair but the sizing was way off and so I exchanged it for this pair of boots. They fit well enough and were comfortable. However, after less than 60 days, the stitching was tearing apart and a hole was beginning to form on one of the heels. These were not daily worn boots....just a cute pair I wanted to wear sometimes. So I wore them about 20 times or so. I am returning these and am now reluctant to buy another pair of boots from LL Bean. Their quality is generally great but this has certainly made me doubt that's the case now. I really wonder if the great reviews of these boots will change given time. It did not take time until mine were defective. The returns are easy enough but certainly a hassle. Don't waste your money.

Don't order! Precursor to opening the box says all markings are a natural process of leather. But that shouldn't include black scratches and marks! Returned it AND the replacement pair! Will never order shoes from them again. Waiting on my refund...
