The fit is a bit wide so perfect for me. Although I sometimes wear an 8 1/5 the 8 was plenty roomy. I would describe the color as a warm taupe, sort of brown, not so gray. If the laces were more like speed laces, not all eyelet, I would rate them a 5 star. Love the color, fit, comfort, and look.

Well-made and comfortable except the inside seam over my 'baby' toes chafed them.

I love these - very cozy and stylish. The only reason I rate them 4 stars is that I sent them back and re-ordered a half-size down. I am NEVER a size 9 and these fit perfectly sized down.

I love the look of these boots. There is one problem though. If I am not wearing thick socks, there is one place where the leather sides join the rest of the upper boot that rubs against my foot. I ordered up a half size so they are comfortable with the thicker socks. Otherwise, the boots look and feel good.

I am a size 8W for most shoes. I loved the look of these, but figured they would be too narrow. Not so! Felt like they were made just for me. On the down side, the laces do not flow easily through the eyes. I foresee breakage eventually. Also, the footbed under ball of the foot is not very supportive. I'll switch out the inserts and hope for the best. That said, I love these boots

I found this boot extremely comfortable. I have a wide toe box and this boot was comfortable, even with a medium weight sock. Stylish combined with function, as in the good-grip lug sole, was what I was looking for. With a medium weight sock the heel does not slip on me if I lace it up snuggly. My only suggestion would be to have quick-lace hooks the last few top rows to facilitate lacing and unlacing . True to size, enough width for a medium-to-wide toe box. I wear a size 9.

These are beautiful, well-constructed boots, sturdy and high-quality. They're comfortable with one small exception -- a seam on the tongue of the boot would be uncomfortable with thinner socks, but fortunately I only need these boots in cold weather. I think these will be a long-time favorite, just like all my other LL Bean purchases!

I bought these back in October but had to return because my usual size 9 was too big! I waited a month and a half for the back ordered 8 1/2 ash grey but they were not the grey that the original 9's were! I still love the boot and will keep it but I am dissatisfied with the fact that they are not the advertised color like before, they were more of a light brown, they also had some scratches on what were supposedly brand new boots, either way if you get the right size they are super comfortable and great for northern New England winters!

Great boot! Comfortable, they run a little big. My shoe size is nine, the nine was too big even with thick sock. Got 8.5 fit great! Love the boots!

Love the look and the fit is good. As others have mentioned, the heel is a bit roomy. Still working on the best socks to wear.

I almost sent them back because I really wanted gray boots. It's not that I don't like the color, but it's not what I was expecting. That being said, I tried them on and they fit so well that I decided to keep them. I've worn them several times and I am very happy that I kept them

LL Bean customer service is top notch, got my exchange taken care of right away. Construction of the boot is a little bit subpar, but for the price I guess I'll make do. The replacement pair was worse than the original pair so I returned the replacement pair. Contemplating putting some crazy glue to fill in some of the gaps on the "feather edge?". I'm not wading through water with these, so hopefully this fix will suffice. Otherwise, boot is warm, light... and rugged cozy!

Too narrow. Length was great. Wish they were offered in a wider width.

They run a little large. I'm usually a size 9, but needed an 81/2 in these boots. They are very comfortable!

Light weight and comfy. The reviews were correct regarding color as ash is really a lighter brown. True to size although seems a little loose in the heel.

This boot looked very cute and I wanted a grey boot. After all the color was described as "ash". When I received them they were not grey but a muted brown. I was disappointed. I didn't try them on but have had very good luck with other LLBean boots hence the 4 star rating.

Good fit, true to size if not a tad big (good for thick socks!) I like the laces but they do seems to come undone easily, but overall nice cozy boots for the cold weather.

So far so good. If they last more then a season they will be great. Walking my dog in the woods and grassy areas generally leaves me with wet socks and feet. I've made it through both already several times and have remained dry. The lace up compensates for them running a bit large, so I find them very comfortable in normal socks. As the weather gets cooler I'm sure thicker socks will be fine.

These are soooo comfortable. The footbed has great support, though it feels like I'm wearing a slipper. Love the fact that they are waterproof. I normally wear a size 7 medium width, and these fit pretty much true to size but a bit wide in the toe box. Not enough to return or that can't be fixed with tighter lacing. I'm deducting one star because I was a little disappointed that the ash color is more brown than gray and does not really look like the picture.

I liked these boots because they are lightweight and have good tread but the heel slips. Unfortunately I will have to return them.

I wear these boots very infrequently. Purchased 11/19/21, 2 years and 3 months ago. I polish them regularly, do not use them as a work boot. Only wear them in the winter months. Very disappointed that the seam is torn with the care I give them (wanting to protect my investment of $169.00). I don't know whether or not LLBean reads the reviews but I would certainly welcome a reply from them regarding my dissatisfaction.

The boots were really cute, and would have been great to wear during the cold months, but they were way too big on me. I wear size 8 most of the time and occasionally size up to an 8 1/2 to accommodate heavier socks, but with these I would have probably needed at least a 7 1/2 which was not available. I chose to return them and did not reorder.

The style is so cute, but I got the "russet brown" and I would describe it as a dark pink/red color. I was expecting something more true brown, and more like the photos. Disappointed, I'll be returning.

I love how these boots look, but they run wide and not sure they fit well enough. They are stylish and warm and I am just not sure if I'm going to keep them. I usually wear a 10.5, but these only came in half sizes up to 10, so I had to order an 11. Disappointed to say the least.
