I found them to be very comfy! I bought my normal size and they fit perfectly. I have 7 acres of wooded mountainous property and it made hiking around it much more comfortable that it had been before. Ive walked the property in them a few times on wet days and my feet stayed dry. Ive still only used them a few times so I cant say what would happen if my feet were actually immersed in water but they seem great so far. I love them and the color. They cleaned up well after walking in the mud too. Since then Ive sprayed them with stain repellent just to ensure they last longer since I love them so much. I highly recommend!!

They are great shoes. It would have been much better if you had half sizes. I wear a size 10.5 and size 11 is just a little to large. I love the lightweightness. but the feel like clod hoppers being to big even if its only a small bit.

Not a perfect boot, but def solid! Crunched my little toe a little, so maybe I could have benefited from sizing up. Nice grip and support at ankle. Love the style too.

I love these boots. No blisters or anything. Super easy to break in. They're just a little tight on the tops of my feet. And also, my ankles still get really dirty, despite tying my shoelaces pretty tightly.
Overall, I love them!

Super cute colors and style. I consistently wear a 9.5, medium width in L.L. Bean boots, I had to return them because they run small and narrow.

Wore twice, slipped and fell first outing. Second time worn slipped twice! Returned as I need to have confidence boots have ability to be worn without fear of falling. Boots were comfortable with no break in period.

Nice shoe but it was too narrow for me at the big toe joint across the width of the foot. However, may be fine for others - I have a somewhat wide foot although I usually can wear regular. I ordered other hikers from L.L. Bean where this isn't an issue for me.

We sent a pair back to ask for a size up and instead of sending us the same boot, they sent a completely different color. They did get the size correct tho! :-) They will be going back.

These hiking boots fit well, but hurt my feet. Not comfortable at all, so I returned them.

Sadly, this is the last time I'm going to try an LL Bean shoe. I just feel that the quality is not the same as what I can get from other companies, even though I have to pay a bit more. The sole of the boot seems quite good. The upper part of the boot is kind of flimsy. There is a difference between being lightweight and realizing that this boot is not going to last long for City walks in the rain in my neighborhood and the light hiking that I do. Ankle support is minimal. The tongue is not built correctly and leaves gaps between it and the wall of the boot, so it rubs on the top of my foot. I tried this on with light socks. I would not be able to wear this boot with medium socks which is what I hike in. That is why I rated it a bit small. The lacing system doesn't work smoothly. The top laces are too close to the top of the boot. The left boot stitching between the outer leather and the inner padding was not stitched correctly.

These boots are super comfy on first try. However, I returned mine because I couldn't stand looking down at those boots and seeing all that light aqua coloring in the liner and on the sides of the sole. I REALLY prefer natural browns.

So far I wore them one time and the description stated that "Rugged upper of waterproof nubuck leather and mesh." They are not waterproof! I went bird hunting in them one time. It was not raining but the grass was wet. The mesh part gets we inside on your foot. I will
try to seal them with a waterproof spray for future use. If LL
Bean is reading this is you send me a
spray I will try it and possibly change my review.

They are great hiking shoes because they are light & they breathe. But they close right ON your ankles - not slightly above them which is a pity (on my feet - I am 5'6 with a size 9) if they were a bit higher they would be perfect! I still like them though.

I loved the look of these boots and was so excited to get them in the mail. I would definitely recommend going a half size up (especially if your foot runs a little bit wide)! I am usually a 9 and purchased a pair of 9.5s and the fit was great! I wore them around the house with a pair of medium thickness wool socks and thought they were going to be keepers. However, when I took my dog out for a walk (less than 0.5 miles on the sidewalk) I quickly realized that I was getting hot spots on both inner ankles. My guess is that it was either due to a lack of padding around the speed hooks or that the tongue was wrapping around and chafing the same spot on each foot. With a lot of hiking miles on my horizon for this season, I just can't justify keeping them. So sad to see them go.

Boots were comfortable right out of the box. Unfortunately they broke after two wears. One lace grommet popped off on one side and another is loose so I couldn't lace them up properly.

Cute and comfortable but not waterproof or even water-resistant. They have never been submerged, just used for hiking in dew-covered grass and during drizzling rain. Every time has resulted in wet feet. Way too expensive for poor quality. The two stars are for cuteness and comfort. I'm returning them.

Sadly they had a very awkward shape, with random parts tighter than others. Unsymmetrical and Unwearable. On a positive, the design and color were attractive.

I've worn these a few times in dry conditions. The inner ankle area on the right shoe had hot spots, so today I put on a bandaid, and went for an hour walk, hot spot was gone, and the shoes were really comfortable. BUT.. I only walked in some wet/muddy areas and the shoes got wet inside! The only place that came in contact w/any water was at the seam of the sole and the top of the shoe (and it was more mud than water). Barely any at all, and the insides are moist. I was testing these out to wear on an upcoming trip to Scotland, but now I am back to square one.

The boots were comfortable, warm, good on the icy path. Unfortunately one of the hooks broke while tying the boot. I had to return it and they were great. I think the quality of the hooks were sub par and I didn't want to chance another pair thinking the outcome would be similar. They refunded without question.

I bought these for my early morning walk and playdate with my dog. I needed a pair of shoes to keep my feet warm and dry. These are labeled as waterproof, however, my toes were getting wet in the morning grass. Because they were wet, my feet were cold, even with wool socks. I returned them for a different a pair of waterproof shoe, the storm chaser slip-on. Much better for many reasons. Easier to get on and off, waterproof, and because they are a slip-on, my ankle isn't sore...

Ordered a half size like the reviews said. It was way too big. The shoes are comfortable. I loved the colors but not comfy. I ended up returning them.

Such an absolute shame. Had a pair of the 2019 ones and absolutely ADORED them. Wore them all over the world, anytime it rained, any chance of getting wet feet. They were one of those shoes you put on and they were just RIGHT. But not this new version. The top is WAY more thin, you feel the seam of the tongue all the way up your foot, and they are way more stiff. I hate that the waterproofing wore out on my other ones, so now I'm forced to find a new brand. Such a shame, as I was excited to get a new pair since these are so cute.

I bought for my daughter. She wore them for a week to break them in for a hiking trip in Maine of all places. On the three day trip the steel eyelet ripped out of the hole!!! I'm giving a one star for the poor quality but I'll be sending back to Bean and I'm certain the matter will be resolved like Bean always does.
