The boots are very comfortable right out of the box. I ordered my regular shoe size and they fit perfectly.

Good fit, cushion and grip when walking. Nice colors. Preferred plain strings, will change when restocked in store.

Please please please make these in wide width!!! I want to keep them but they are just too narrow. They're super light weight and propel you forward as you walk. I really love them but sadly they don't have wide widths available

Purchased this hiking boot to replace an older pair of boots I had. I wear my boots with thick hiking socks, and needed a full size larger than my dress shoe size. The boots were put to the test this week on several long day hikes that I took in Rocky Mountain National Park. They were very comfortable throughout the hike, and made it through some very wet and muddy sections of the trail without my feet getting wet. I like the way the toes are very comfortable and not too stiff which really helped with the elevation changes on the trails. Very happy with my purchase!

I am really delighted with these boots. I had a complex ankle fracture 5 years ago resulting in a plate and screws in my right ankle and lower leg. Almost all boots would rub against the hardware making it rather uncomfortable, even painful. These boots have a very flexible, soft lining that shield my ankle. The overall material is also fairly flexible (not stiff), still providing enough support so that accidentally "turning and ankle" while hiking on uneven surfaces is less likely. They are lightweight and so far waterproof. Great sole which grips well going up and down loose gravely surfaces. They do run small and for the first time in my life I bought a size 9. Normally I wear a size 8! I'd recoomend buying at least a half size up if not a whole size.

I have other L.L.Bean hiker boots. They are extremely comfortable for walking, hiking, and they are very durable. They remain in good condition for years. Very reasonable in price also.

I wasn't sure if I would like the rocker bottom but I do. I had ankle surgery so was looking for something comfortable to wear that covered my ankle. Would recommend. They could make the inserts a little more comfortable as they are quite stiff but I replace with my foot orthotics anyway.

I didnt break this shoes and went hiking for 10 miles at mountain .Crossed couple creeks .Walked up and down .My feet were so happy . After more that 8 hours I could keep going . I got half size bigger and was wearing compression socks. Very light ,very comfortable. Highly recommended. Best hiking shoes ever.

I have worn these boots for 3 weeks and they are wonderful. They feel like sneakers. Light weight, water proof and warm. I wear them at work (auto repair shop) with wet, sloppy floors and my feet feel great. I just might order another pair to have for next winter.

These were comfortable from the first minute I put these on! I had blisters on my heels from a different brand of shoes and could not even feel them. I typically wear a 6 1/2 and ordered the 7. Fits great with thick wool hiking socks. The first week the top of the shoe was a little tight with thick socks but the leather has now loosened to a comfortable fit.
They are warm and kept my feet dry so far from beachcombing, hiking and rain in the PNW in February. I was not stepping in deep puddles mind. The dirt and sand fall off pretty easy.
I love the retro look! I also really enjoy the placement of the logo. Its not screaming the brand at anyone. These shoes were worth every penny!

I have tried on countless hiking boots and was VERY hesitant to order these online. Turns out out it was a good decision. I normally wear a 9.5 wide, so ordered up a half size to accommodate for a medium width and heavy socks. There is plenty of toe room and my heel doesn't slip as long as I have my heavy socks on. If I were going to wear my normal padded, but not not heavy and thick, socks, I would go with a 9.5. For a medium width shoe, this one has plenty of room. Like a lot of women, I have a wide forefoot and narrow heel. I can't attest to the waterproofing yet, but with all the snow forecasted for the Ohio Valley this week, I'll be finding out soon! This boot is a bit stiff in the ankle area, but it's not broken in yet and it's soft enough that there shouldn't be a problem when worn with high socks. I love the rocker bottom and arch support. Comfortable enough to wear to work where I'm on my feet on concrete all day. Last but not least, I LOVE the cream and blue color! Looks and feels so good I'm thinking of ordering the brown in a smaller size just to wear around for errands and less rugged terrain. Seems like it'll have a good grip in snow and on rocky terrain. Can't wait to try them out!

I consistently wear a size 8.5 in LL Bean footwear, however need a size 9 in Mountain Classic Hiker. I absolutely LOVE the design, comfort and saddle/dark earth color, however they are sold out in size 9! Called customer service to inquire about size replenishment, however there is not so I will need to return. Sad, that I cannot exchange for a larger size.

I love these boots in every way - great arch support, comfy or of the box, attractive and warm. But they are narrow and as far as I can tell do not come in wide. Sadly I will return them and hope bean adds a wide version. Women of a certain age often need a little more width.

I bought these shoes on sale two months ago. I have worn them off and on to get my foot accustomed to the shoe and test the comfort level. I have noticed a loud clicking noise in the left shoe. The right shoe is great. Both are comfortable. I have tried several methods to remove the clicking sound. Nothing has helped. I doubt if I will wear them much.

As I have a high arch it was a little difficult to get my foot into the boot to begin with but once there it was quite comfortable. By the second wearing I got used to the higher ankle as well, reason I got this boot for more stability--no more rolled ankles please. No rain or even a puddle for me to try out waterproof claim during this trip. I do like how stable this boot makes me feel on uneven surfaces.

Nice boot, a little stiff but not necessarily uncomfortably so. I have wore them a lot and I'm still waiting for them to get "broken in"

This is a great hiking boot that doesn't require much breaking in. The only reason why I am putting 4 stars and not 5 is because the ankle support is a little loose but I could lace them up a little tighter as well.

I recently purchased these boots as I needed some hiking boots for an upcoming trip and some good shoes for general winter use. They have been great! Ive hiked in snow and ice, worn on planes, used with snowshoes. Ill be curious to see how these work as hikers in warmer temps, but Im hopeful. A great buy!

I bought a pair before these, which by the way are still in fairly good shape, so I bought another pair to have on hand....started wearing them, and was very disappointed to see them start to fall apart. I have had them for about 6 to 6 1/2 months and the sole is pulling off in the front. So now I am hesitant to purchase anymore....but the first ones have been great, and they are super comfortable, but the wear so soon is pretty unacceptable....

This is a light weight shoe great for running errands and light hiking. They are warm so far but it hasn't been below 20F to date. I have found them to be at least water resistant. Love the colors. I bought them in 7.5 which is my normal size with room enough for winter socks.

Love these boots, they fit like a glove. As others have said, there is no breaking in with these beauties. Ive been on snow, ice, slush and everything in between this winter and havent even felt a slip. This is the number one reason I bought them and Im so glad I did.
