Beautiful boots but just didn't fit right. Too stiff and tight in the toe box.

Not as waterproof as I expected, but ok for wet grass. A little heavy but a sturdy, comfortable, and well-made, hiking boot.

I love the look and feel of these boots-- they are comfortable without wearing in and stylish enough to wear to work. However, when I started hiking in them, they fill up with debris. No matter how tightly I lace the boots, I end up having to stop every 5-10 minutes to empty pine needles and stones. Good everyday boots, not great hiking boots.

I am exchanging these awesome boots for another pair that I hope will be waterproof. My feet got wet while walking in the heavy dew of the morning. Otherwise, I love them.

I was really impressed with the fit of the boot, didn't have to break it in, traction was good. However, one of the metal grommets pulled out! I don't know how or when. Now I can't lace the boots up properly and this is after one hike.

I most certainly would have given these boots 5 stars for comfort and fit but there is some problem with the boot lace hooks. I bought my first pair in store and on the second day one hook flew off as I was lacing them up. I returned them and immediately ordered my second pair online as they did not have my size in either of the local stores. I was very excited to receive my second pair but as I laced them up, once again a hook went flying. I live outside of the US and bought both pairs while visiting family there. I will not have a chance to exchange the second defective pair as I need them for a hiking trip. Instead, I will take them to a shoe repair shop and hope for better results. Once, a fluke, but twice? What is going on in the area of production? I am extremely surprised as L.L. Bean has always meant top quality in boots and clothing. As far as fit goes, these are great. I have a thin foot and many boots are too roomy. I wore both pairs for one day each and in each case, they felt like comfortable walking sneakers, no break-in necessary. I wear a woman's size 9 and they were true to size. I like a thin wool sock and is what I will be wearing.

An extremely tight fit even when ordering 1/2 size up. You really can't go a full size up because the shoe would be too long. Sending them back. I guess I should state as well that I do not have a wide foot. They look very nice however but that does me no good, LOL

The eyelet came out on my first wearing . I returned them and the same thing happened again .

When I got these boots, I was quite pleased with them. They were comfortable as I was breaking them in wearing them around my house, getting ready for a hiking vacation. Imagine my disappointment when, before I actually went on a hike, I picked them up and the top right eyelet hook fell out of the left boot. Since I was leaving for my hiking vacation before I would be able to get a replacement pair of boots, I turned to Gorilla super glue to do a repair. That repair has held but while on day 3 of my hiking vacation, the right boot had two eyelet hooks fall out - top left and middle right. So 3 eyelet hooks fell out before I had even worn the boots 10 times. They may be comfortable but when you can't even lace them up, they aren't of much use.

The top shoe lace holder broke after only a couple of hours.

I wanted to love this boots, but this is biggest disappointment of my trip to Glacier National park two weeks ago. I was looking for leather waterproof boots and found that this one has good reviews and meet my price expectation. We stay for a week and our activities included kayaking and hiking. So I did not use them every day. WE hiked two time a strenuous hike for about 6 hours a day . One day walked Going to the Sun road as it was partially closed (perfect asphalt covered road). And did two easy hike. First day I got huge blisters that made my every step painful, but even after that I blamed myself -maybe I did not brake them as much as needed ? But after 4th day of hiking I Long-lasting hiking-boot upper separated( in the front of the boot) .from the sole! Long lasting!!!!! Can this be exchanged? I do not know. I am not very happy after spending $ 140.00 and hiking 4 times having this result.
