This was the first time I've purchased real hiking boots and I'm thrilled! No break in time needed and I experienced no rubbing. I was able to wear them hiking in Arkansas on my grandparent-in-laws property before covid, and boy was it a much needed experience. These boots motivate me to be more active because I enjoy them so much, definitely a great purchase.

These boots are great! The break-in period was short, and they fit beautifully. My feet are in between a size 9 and 9 (depending on the brand), but I decided to go with the size 9, knowing if they didn't fit right I could send them back, and they fit perfectly. My only complaint is, I wish the sole was the same color as the boot. I hate the white, but I really wanted the boots so I just deal with the white.

This boot is lightweight, comfortable, waterproof., and actually looks good enough to wear when not hiking. I was concerned about conflicting reviews regarding the waterproof status of these boots, so the first thing I did was immerse the toe box of my new boots into a bowl of water right up to the first lace hole. I let it sit for a full 45 min, which should exceed real puddle jumping and sloppy snow on a hiking trail. The inside of the boots were bone dry after this test. I think that the other reviewer may have confused damp sweaty socks for a leaky boot. I wore them around the house for a full three hours, and my wool socks did not get damp from sweat, so these boots are well ventilated as advertised. For cold weather hikes, I plan to switch out my insoles for LLBeans shearling lined insoles (tip: my shearling fleece insoles are a full size smaller than my size 9.5 boots, and they fit perfecty into the boot.)

Very few leather boots have no wear in time. These are truly boots that you can buy and wear on a hike without worrying about rubs or break in! I have hiked close to 50 miles in these boots in the last three weeks and find them comfortable and easy on my feet. I hiked a short section of the AT in winter conditions of snow and ice in GA and these have the traction needed to feel secure when negotiating some difficult terrain. Warm with thin socks and comfortable with my smart wool socks keeping my feet also comfortable in freezing temps. I purchased these at the LLBean store in MN and received a 20% so these are very affordable compared to other boots I have looked at in recent months. I would highly recommend these hikers.

I love these boots! Absolutely no break-in time required--I took a 2-mile hike the day they arrived--and I'm a tenderfoot. I don't know how to explain this any better, but they put a spring in my step--they seem to energize my feet. They are comfortable, provide a stable platform for hiking on rough ground, have enough room for thicker socks... they are the best!

I wore these Thanksgiving day on a 4 mile hike, right out pf the box. I was skeptical, but I just did it! They were comfy and I had not issues at all! The bottom reminds me of a sneaker and when my son walked on a slippery rock, he went down and I did not (he's ok btw)! Looking forward for years of wear in these boots!

I love the look and feel of these boots. They are lighter than they look, and the lacing system works well. I love how they lock in my heel, yet provide a wide and open toe box. They are comfortable right out of the box, and after wearing them for a couple of hours I feel like they are trail ready.

Very comfortable and supportive boot. Love the look and they broke in easily. Purchased for hiking moderate trails in Maine and I was very pleased with performance on rocky and slick terrain.

They are truly waterproof! I've purchased waterproof hiking boots before and had soaking wet feet. Got 'em, put 'em on for a long day hike in tricky terrain that involved two water crossings. No break in required. My feet were dry and comfortable the whole day. Great for hikes not involving freezing temperature from Spring through Fall. The temp.s this a.m. were in the low 30's, I was warm. Absolutely love 'em. No complaints! How rare to be 100% satisfied with anything anymore.

Very comfortable out of the box. Sole soft, not hard like most hiking boots. Also they do not look "clunky" on your feet. These will be my everyday shoes when cooler weather gets here!

Appears to be very well made, however I had to send back as they did not fit my foot in the ankle area,so could not honestly review the wear on the trail. Good looking boot-wished they had fit.

I love this boot! This is my second pair. They are true to size, very light and very comfortable, and the soles almost feel like a flexible sneaker rather than a stiff boot. They have great ankle support and feel broken in right out of the box! The only cons for this boot is that I wish they came in wide width and that the soles were Vibram, however I have tried several brands and I still come back to these!

This boot was high quality, seemed comfortable and roomy. Unfortunately, it was too much boot for me and I returned it. I am five feet tall, older and just wanted a sturdy boot for walking. I found this a little heavy and too bulky. My mistake, really. Sadly, I returned it.

I really did not have a chance to find out more about the boot and how it's going to feel after long wearing hours. However, I like the feel. The right side of the right boot upper eyelet popped out on the third day of wearing. I wonder if it is a defect in a few pairs for the style or a general defect in the entire Alpine Hiking boot/this style.

I had tried on several different hiking boots in different sizes and the 7 1/2 Alpine seems to be the best fit with socks and I have narrow feet. Recently moved to the Hudson Valley and trails are not paved so my old sneakers did not work and had to invest in Hiking Boots.

It's a nice, solid, waterproof hiking boot. Pretty comfortable out of the box although I did experience heel blisters when I started hiking vs walking in them. 8.5 feels a little small compared to other shoes/boots of the same size.

Great boots for outdoor work. Comfortable, waterproof, durable. Only functional drawback is that the bottom tends to collect mud. Style-wise, not a fan of the white outer sole - a darker color would be better since the white gets dirty so quickly anyway.

They take a little breaking in. The first time I wore them my ankles were pretty sore but they felt better the next day when I wore them for another hike. They were a little heavier than I expected but not bad.

I bought these as I loved the color and was looking for a lightweight boot that would not get wet in the toe area. The fit was great, the color was true to pictured on the site and the quality is very good. My only complaint is that the boots are very hard on the bottoms. Like rock hard. They are not very flexible and I had to put insoles in them to make them comfortable.

I really like these boots, don't find them to be heavy and they are very comfortable. Tried on in store and purchased shortly after. I wish the insulated version had been available when I got these because they are definitely not a winter hiker. However, I wore them with skinny jeans and the right boot lace hooked into the speed lace loop on the left boot and I went down in the middle of the road!! It was like I was hog-tied. Did a job on my eye socket and new glasses. From that point forward I loop the laces around the back and knot in front. Laces are about 8" too long. This was not the fault of the boot and I was totally shaken and humiliated but learned a valuable lesson..

First LLBean product that I returned after I used it because I didn't think it was a good product. I also returned a pair of Glerups after using them - but people swore they'd break in and they didn't and oh man they were hard and never again - but these boots - I guess if you like heavy boots, Ok. If you have strong thigh muscles, ok. I used to be a competitive swimmer, and I consider my legs to be fit and these are heavy. Of course this is just my opinion - I guess you could say - that makes them a good deal! My husband says that makes them more worth it because it would add muscles ... go figure. Anyway, minus one star because when I hike I don't want to think about how heavy my feet are. I just think it should have been mentioned in the details (apart from the weight of course) that these are like for lifters or something... for people who are looking to build leg muscles or something. But they are rugged... They seem like they'd last a lifetime for sure.

I ordered these when New York State was 'on pause' during the pandemic and I wasn't working full time. We're in a rural area so why not hike around our property and enjoy what I've meant to get to? These boots were comfortable right from the beginning. My only issue was I had to figure out how tight to lace them as I have fat ankles. Once I got that down every outing is great. These books are light yet sturdy. I've been able to wear them for hours with no pain. My first pair of boots are two thumbs up!
