Nice boots and I got my usual size (size 7.5) because most of the reviews say True to Size. They felt short and they hurt at the top of the boot. Had to return. I also got a size 8, but the padded top hurt on those boots also. Other than that they are a good looking shoe.

I wear an 8.5 E (or EE in some things). The D is just way too narrow. Seemed to be a little bit short, as well. Anyway, cut off circulation in my toes, both feet. So if you have wide feet, don't bother.
The boot seems well-made and other than the tight toe space was ok for the intended purpose -- farm work. But for on my feet and on and off equipment all day just didn't work.

These are beautiful boots but they did not work for my leg shape. I am 5'3" and they hit my calf in the wrong spot and were very uncomfortable so I returned. I'd imagine they would be great for a long-legged person.

I ordered these a half size large and wide instead of regular; they weren't just stiff, but actually rigid, brutally tight and awkwardly high on my ankles. I actually own, and like, the shoe version of this boot and was expecting this to be at least somewhat similar. Nope. Going up a full size is just going to create length problems like a clown shoe and given how narrow the "wide" turned out, probably won't work either. Haven't had this problem in any other shoe. Very disapointed.

I actually ended up returning the boots. The padding in the ankle area was thinner than that in my older boots. I also prefer that the rubber covering the front of the boot extend more over the top of the boot. They also felt stiff, and I wasn't sure that I could break them in due to the thin padding. I wanted these for hiking.

This boots are way too tall. They are seriously uncomfortable just around the house.
Nothing like my prior boots from LL Bean which I looked to replace with these.
They are packed to be returned.

Love the fit except not a good chouce for hiking because when laced up the top of the boot at lacing rubbec my legs. I wore lthem a short time inside and the material at the top of the lacing is stiff and not pliable enough to keep from rubbing shin. I ready liked the style and comfort except for that.

Cute but did not fit my foot well at all. No go for me, returned them.

Nicely constructed, however there is not enough padding to make it comfortably cushy around the ankle area.

Ankle support is too firm. Boot rubs on my ankles making them too uncomfortable. I thought they would break in last summer but that never happened. Still too stiff in the ankle area. To the back of the closet with these.

While the workmanship appeared to be durable and high quality, the fit and comfort of the sneaker failed to please.

These are lovely shoes, and I'm sure they would have been good shoes if I'd been able to tolerate having them on my feet for even a moment. My feet are wide, so I ordered wide width, and I my feet were pinched and in pain just putting them on. There was no question of breaking them in, they were never going to widen. If you have really wide feet, I would recommend staying away from these.

Unlike the immediately comfortable nubuck alpine hiking sneakers, these hiking boots are very uncomfortable.

I have been a customer of L.L. Bean for years and this is the first time I have been disappointed. The boot was comfortable out of the box and fit well but the sole is slippery on wet surfaces and my feet were wet after walking thru wet grass. I bought these boots specifically because they were advertised as waterproof. These have already gone back.

The boots I received are definitely not waterproof. I walked after a rain on a mowed grass trail (grass about 3" high) for about a mile and my boots and socks were totally soaked through. Once they are dry enough to return, I will be sending them back. Unfortunate, as my good old LLBean Italian-made Gore-tex / Vibram hikers which I've had for who-knows-how-long have finally worn out. But then they are at least ten years old, if not older!

I bought these boots a couple of years ago, and already the soles are worn quite thin at the heels -- but worse, they are NOT waterproof. My socks get wet even if I'm just walking in the rain or wet grass, not "testing" them in puddles etc! So while they are very comfy and I like how they look, I won't buy another pair.

I have thin legs and ankles. you can see the shaping of the top of the shoe. It is very stiff and when you walk on a woods trail it is rocky and irregular. the top edges, especially the rounded points, cut into my leg and it got red and sore. I thought they would "break" in with time. They did not. I tried not lacing them so tight- it didn't help. If all you do is road or sidewalk walking it isn't too bad. Dont buy them if you do a lot of trail hiking or walking on irregular ground. The boots fit great otherwise and are very breathable and warm.

I really wanted to love these boots and I love llbean, great quality but this wasn't the case this time. They are great boots and high quality, but not for me. The back is too high for the back of my ankle and every time I took a step the back would push into me and would hurt. I couldn't imagine wearing them for any period of time. I tried leaving them loose but then the lack of ankle support didn't work for me either. So I had to return them. I have to say with CoVid I ordered online, if I had gone to a store I would have know they wouldn't work. But returning them was simple enough and customer service was great. The rest of the fit was perfect and they are very cushioned. I wish they had just lowered the back an inch and they would have been fantastic. I will just try a different style. If the back hits your ankle in a different place, then I have a feeling they will be fantastic. I wish that was the case for me.

I've never bought footwear on-line before, b/c I'm particular (picky?) about how shoes feel. I risked it with these boots b/c they are available in Wide, and b/c of all the great reviews, including ones from women who bought my size.
Alas, as soon as I put on these boots, I didn't like them. The ankle extends an inch higher than my current, well-used (falling apart) hiking boots. They looked and felt like downhill ski boots. I clumped downstairs and sat at my desk for a half hour, and finally couldn't stand them anymore and whipped them off. There is not a lot of padding, and they pressed on my ankle bones. Then I went to 2- and 3-star reviews and saw others felt the same way. My son suggests maybe they'd work better for a taller woman (I am 5'3").
This was a case of seeing what I wanted to see. I liked the look of the boots, and the price was good. I didn't seek out lower-starred reviews to read, I read mostly the 4- and 5-star reviews.
Shipping was fast, and I was notified when my return was received.

Even though I ordered wide, my foot felt cramped. I wanted ankle support but these are very stiff and I felt like the stiffness could cause me to fall. Also very heavy. I ended up returning them. Still on the hunt for a good hiking boot with good ankle support.

The problem with the product is not enough widths are offered in all sizes so the hiking boot was to tight. The product will be returned in the near future when store reopen. M

The back of this hiking boot is too high and too stiff. It hits at a bad spot on the Achilles tendon and causes pain. One walk and I knew this would not work. I actually had bought the same boot a year or maybe a year and a half ago and ended up with tendonitis from wearing it. Too bad I did not return that one before Bean's policies made it impossible for me to do so.
