Even though I have a narrow foot, I like these shoes a lot. I simply wear thicker socks. Shoes are very comfortable and well made. Good tread and nice to have some color. Fairly light weight too. Wish I'd purchased them years ago and saved my good sneakers from being ruined.

I wanted a sturdy pair of shoes for everyday use. Because I wear orthotics and have large bunions, most shoes aren't comfortable enough. I also walk at least one hour a day by the water or in the woods and waterproof really helps. So far these shoes have made the grade. I take 9 1/2 or 10 and the 10 wide fit perfectly except in the heal where they are too wide. But without bunions my foot would not be wide and I can work with the lacing to help with this. My only concern is that they go up a little higher than I like. They look as stylish as a size 10 wide sneaker can look and they are quite comfortable.

The fit and support are outstanding! I don't like the ridiculous colors that have been offered for a long time now. The colors are not practical and they don't go with anything. Who wants to plan what they wear around a shoe color? I have an older pair of brown Hiker's that I love. They go with everything. I have had people stop me in Whole Foods and ask where ever did I find them as that is exactly what they want. I have to tell them that they are no longer being offered. The people who choose the colors must not be true outdoor people. The guys get great colors, let the women have them too!

I like the color and style of this shoe and it seems durable. Unfortunately, I had to return them because after wearing them inside my house for an hour they were rubbing against the top of my foot near the ankle and I was afraid that I would get a blister.

Generally I like these and am glad I purchased them. They're a bit stiff and one upper edge kept rubbing starting a blister but with thick socks it's not an issue. I really like the super tough toe area. A good rugged shoe for general trail hiking and walking. They are low so will not provide ankle support if you need it.

I loved these shoes. The only problem was they were to narrow. Fot that reason I had to return them. I wish LLBEAN would have a wide with because I have had to return several boots or shoes. I really wish we would not have to write a book to send a review

A well made sturdy shoe. However, it's really heavy.

Good construction on upper shoe. Support in sole is less than desirable.

I like these but wish you had also non leather shoes of the same type.

My second pair! Sturdy and comfortable I wear these for my daily hike over easy terrain.

I know these are not running shoes and neither is the cost for them. They are comfortable for walking on vacation tours and/or shopping for about four hours, then the insole just needs more cushioning in my opinion. I bought them for the waterproofing and they did not let me down in that respect. In full on Wales rain for a couple hours, they kept my feet dry. The price on sale was reasonable and they really are a good shoe although I wished they had a less stiff feel. They aren't stiff when I walk in them, they just seem stiff when putting them on. I never had a break-in period for my feet in these shoes, they were never uncomfortable, I just would prefer thicker sole cushioning.

Why are women's hiking shoes often such ugly colors? I thought I could live with the brown/green, but in person the pink part was very pink. I really didn't want blue. I am looking for a shoe that I can wear for hiking and also around town and to restaurants while I am on vacation. I usually bring one pair of hikers and one pair of sandals depending on where we are going. Please make a nice boring brown/black or tan hiking shoe.

Not so wide. They are fine with really thin socks but you may be disappointed with hiking socks because the shoes will be too snug.

Shoes are very good. Light weight for packing & wearing, but tight despite the wide width. I am not a hiker, but bought due to waterproof description for trip to Scotland. May loosen the more I wear them. Wearing today for 3rd day.

LL Bean needs to offer size 10 1/2 in all Women's shoes

Accurate fit of 7 M B - feels comfortable, is waterproof, color works w wardrobe. Next time would go for 7 M C for a little wider for comfort.

Seem comfortable. Too wide for me but i expected that. Hard to find narrow hiking boots.

Nice shoe. Exactly what I was looking for. But they rubbed just a bit near my ankle so I sadly returned.

I buy these every year and like them, but the fit can vary. I am disappointed that my local store does not carry wide sizes any more. It's a pain to have them shipped not knowing if the fit is right.

I bought these about two months ago for a trip. I wear a size 11 EE. I used the size chart which said I would fit in the D width. I could only get my foot about half way into the shoe. They are a nice shoe but if you wear a EE width I would bypass these shoes

Good for cold weather since my feet got sweaty in 60 degrees.

I like the shoes but hey seem to be about one half size too small. I will try to wear with smaller socks.

seemed a bit stiff at first but comfortable and water proof for early morning walks in damp grass.

Wonderfully made shoe. Fit well but I found the top side cut into my ankle so regretfully needed to return.

I have two pairs of these low hikers. They are definitely waterproof: I've sloshed through streams in them (just don't let water come in over the foot opening). My only small complaint is that they are heavier than Bean's regular low hikers.
