Like spending time outdoors and wanted a shoe that was comfortable to wear but also waterproof to keep my feet dry. Ordered these hikers & am very pleased, as always, with the quality of the items I get from LL Bean.

Wore these brand new out of the box on recent week-long trip to Iceland. Required zero 'breaking in'. Nothing short of tremendous performance. They climbed to the top of a snowy mountain (no crampons), hiked across boggy fields, sloshed down flooded muddy trails, trekked volcanic lava fields and behind waterfalls. And all the while, my feet stayed warm and dry. The quality you expect from LLBEAN.

These hikers are just what I was looking for. I shopped other brands that were well over $100. I was surprised these were well below that.Very comfortable solid feeling shoe, rugged bottom. They fit really well, snug on your foot. The only complaint I have is the laces seem to loosen up, maybe different laces would prevent that. I would recommend these shoes to hikers.

They are sooo comfortable. The foot bed gives me good support. They almost feel like you are walking on a cloud......

I wear these shoes most of the time since they are both comfortable and provide the support I need. They do keep my feet dry in rain and snow. My friends joke that I look always ready to go hiking but that is okay. Comfort and support in a shoe are important. I also love the way these look. My only request is that they be available in more colors.

I bought these for a hike in the Fiordland National Park in New Zealand and for 9 days of hiking in The Kimberley in Western Australia. Through rain, mud, cold and dirt my feet stayed dry and comfortable. And they fit in my suitcase for easy removal and inspection as they do in both countries. I appreciated the quality and value of this product.

I have another pair of these. They fit well on me, comfortable for walking and all day wear. They have kept my feet dry on rainy days. I would recommend them.

Love, love, love these shoes! This is the 2nd pair I bought. Right out of the box they are so comfortable and never a blister. I have arthritis and wear them for my daily walk. I hope they never change the design of them.

The shoes were initiated this season in rainy weather (a downpour!), and one more time since then - both times hiking through muddy woods complete with puddles, etc. I was so pleased that my feet were dry afterwards ... yay!

Both my husband and I bought these hiking shoes. My husband likes them because they are comfortable and waterproof when hiking. His only negative is that they are heavier than sneakers so would only wear them hiking I have lots of problems finding shoes that fit and are comfortable. I am wide in the toes and narrow in the heel. These are wide enough in the toe area and very supportive in the ankle, while still comfortable. There was no rubbing or chafing. Perfect for uneven ground. They were so comfortable, I tried wearing them for shopping. Too heavy. But perfect for hiking

I've been wearing these shoes for over a year while working as a nurse aide, first, in a nursing home and now in a hospital. They are still like new!! Completely waterproof and anti-skid. Color is still the same light purple that I love! GREAT value!

Bought these again after my first pair wore out after 11 years! No, I am not exaggerating. They are comfortable, durable, and I have tested the waterproofing in Alaska and the Tetons with no complaints! I have ankle issues and these shoes provide great support without having to go to higher boots. I also have a wide foot and the wide width is comfortable for me wearing hiking socks. They are my favorite hiking shoes of all time!

My previous hiking shoes, which I bought elsewhere, cost more than these and died gloriously on the last few miles of the Camino Frances in Spain. Their treads were worn and they took on a lot of water, their waterproof coating having been breached during a heavy downpour. I'd had them for just under six months. I've now had these shoes for three months, and I've worn them in rain. So far, so good. These are very comfortable--more comfy than the more expensive pair. Will they withstand what the previous pair did? Or do better? Who knows?

I have been hiking to get in better shape, and prefer unpaved paths. These shoes have a sturdy enough sole to stand up to rocks and roots and other trail hazards but are still lightweight. I bought them last spring, and have hiked 1-2 times each week in them. They still feel and look like new. They do seem to run a little big. But if you like thick socks, these would be perfect.

After having a trouble with ankle weakness and a stress fracture in my foot that took 4 months to heal, my podiatrist recommended that I wear stiff shoes with good support on the bottom. The problem is that my feet are wide and wide shoes that are supportive are almost impossible to find. These shoes in the wide size were exactly what I needed. They are stiff but provide great support and they are very comfortable. I have been wearing them for a year and my feet and ankle problems have really improved. I am now able to go on long walks like I used to. I like these shoes so much that I bought a second pair and I also bought the Trail Model Hiking boots for walking on terrain where I need more ankle support. Thank you, L.L. Bean, for making wide shoes available. I am now trying to find my size in the purple color, which is sold out. It would be nice to have more color choices in this shoe style. I hope you never stop making this shoe.

These boots were comfortable as soon as I used them the first time. I had very little time to break them in, but I had no problems with them. My size is usually between 8 and 8 1/2. I bought the 8 1/2 so I could wear a heavier sock, and they were perfect. We did a lot of rough walks in Iceland on rocky trails. They were lightweight, but had good gripping power. Stayed dry in some very heavy downpours and wet conditions. I bought the Frost Gray and loved the color. They were easy to clean off despite muddy trails.

I purchased these as we prepared to go on a cruise to Iceland, because we expected a lot of rain (so I wanted water proof) plus a lot of walking. The shoes worked great. Be sure to break them in a little before hand. I liked that I was able to pull out the innersole that came with the shoes to insert my orthotic (sorry, old lady thing :). These shoes kept my feet dry and well-supported as we traipsed through Iceland. Absolutely a great purchase, and worth the price.

I got these shoes for a trip to England, and WISH I'd had them for a trip to Japan the month before. Walked many miles in these on pavement, cobblestones, rocks and wet grass. Wore them in pouring rain - totally waterproof and gave wonderful support. They aren't quite as clunky as regular hiking boots, although they will have "tourist" written all over you - you won't care as your feet will feel great. They do come up just under my ankle bones and that rubbed just a tad. I always wore with 2 pairs of socks, which always helps. They were WELL worth the money, and I know I'll enjoy them for years.

I bought these boots in preparation for a trip to the Grand Canyon. I went on many hikes during the trip and these boots were great. They were completely waterproof in an unexpected downpour followed by a hailstorm and were incredibly comfortable throughout the trip. Will definitely buy these again.

These hiking shoes are great. They come in wide widths, so I ordered a wide 9.5 (I usually wear a 9 wide) so I would have plenty of room for comfy socks. They fit perfectly and it only took wearing them a couple of times for my feet to feel happy in them. Great product!

I am a nurse aide in a rehab nursing center and bought these hiking shoes for work. They are indestructible!! My feet often get sprayed by shower hoses and run over by wheelchairs and other equipment but I never feel wet or bruised thanks to LL Bean. I've worn them for work since November and they still look like I just bought them. They're the only shoes I can bear to wear for 8 hours on my feet.

I brought these shoes for I am a dog sitter and have to walk a lot of dogs in all kinds of weather. My old tennis shoes were not making the cut. They would get wet when it rained and at the end of the day my back and feet would be killing me from all the walks. Since I have purchased these shoes my feet are dry and my back and feet don't hurt. Thank-you L.L. Bean
