1. Buyer should note the fuzzy fur does NOT go all the way down to the foot. It's on the boot shaft only. In the foot section it's a fleece material. Still warm, but you really don't need to size up because of the fluff. Stick with your normal size. 2. I ordered my normal size 8 and I would say it fits more like a 9. I'm not complaining - extra room for thick socks. 3. The leather shaft is beautiful, supple, and amazing. 4. I had a pair of the lower-level bean boots, which I love, but my toes were freezing everytime I took the kids to play in the snow. I bought this pair, and they are a huge improvement. We can stay out and play longer because my toes aren't going numb :)

These boots are wonderful....warm in the coldest temps, and totally waterproof. I purchased a size 6 wide because I wanted to be able to wear heavy socks and I find that Bean's footwear is a bit a narrow. That was a good choice. The boots are my favorite to wear for everyday on cold days, in the snow, and even with snowshoes. I highly recommend these!

If you live in cold weather like we do, these are a MUST. They are fuzzy, warm and comfortable. My parents both owned these exact styles and they wore theirs for years. I'm assuming I'll do the same. They are top-notch quality. Keep up the wonderful work L.L.Bean!!!!!

I normally wear a 9M but was advised to buy one size smaller. Thee 8M boots fit perfectly and are both warm and comfortable to wear on a typical winter's day in Minnesota. I started wearing them the day they arrived and have "never looked back." No "breaking in" was necessary. I love the quality and appearance of the boots.

I read many reviews before ordering this boot. I typically wear a 9 1/2 shoe or boot. Reading the reviews, I ordered a full size down. Knowing there are no 1/2 sizes, I ordered an 8. It was perfect!! Living in Michigan, I wear these boots everywhere. From the first day I received them, I put them on and walked to my local post office, which is 1.5 miles away. I then walked our Golden Retriever 2 miles. That's 5 miles in a day. And they did not have to be broken in. They are warm, comfortable, and sturdy. True LLBean quality. I love that they are USA and Maine-made. My only wish? LL Bean could produce this boot true-to-size. I am by no-means a size 8. I am a true 9 1/2. If considering this boot, it absolutely runs large. Order a full-size down. But you will love it!

Perfect in every way!

I got these boots in a 10 at first, which is my normal shoe size. I exchanged for a 10 wide because I like some room in my winter boots for thick socks. I live in ND and it reaches well below zero, so sometimes I need an extra layer. The liner is soft and fuzzy, and it has like a fleece lining around the foot. The outer layer is easy to clean up with a wipe or cloth when they get salt stains on them. I leave the laces loose and slip these on for quick errands. They are comfy and protect my feet from the snow. I have had a few people comment on them and even test them out at work! I am so happy with my purchase! I may need the higher ones for playing in the deep snow!

I wear these EVERY DAY. They're comfy, warm, dry, and fashionable. I wear them to the ski mountain, while shoveling, sledding with the kids, walking with my neighbors, or just to the grocery store.

I wish I would've bought these sooner! These boots are so warm and comfortable. I typically wear a size 7.5 and the size 7 fit great with a thick pair of socks.

I love these boots. I LOVE these boots. They fit perfectly. needed no break-in period. I can stride right through slushy curbs and march right over snowy paths. These are my no-excuse boots. I can get outside and WALK!

I love everything about the shearling lined boots. I am normally a size 6.5 and the 6 is perfect. I received a size 7 as a gift a few years ago and they were huge in comparison. I gave them away and bought myself the 6. So happy I did. The fit is absolutely perfect. I generally wear them with J Crew camp socks.

These boots were for my wife, and this is her review: The boots fit perfectly out of the box. No break-in was required. Quality construction, and comfortable and warm to wear in both snowy and wet conditions. Perfect for long dog walks on cold days or about town. Classic boots. Absolutely perfect.

Love these boots!! They are a perfect fit and do not bite into my ankles! That may sound a little strange but I have always had a very hard time finding comfortable footwear so I am very happy!

Ordered these puppies in one full size down and they fit perfectly! I've tried them on with both thin and thick socks to make sure I was sized right. For reference, my shoe size is an 8 but based on LL.Bean's suggestion, I ordered a 7 and sized down. The fit is great and I couldn't be more pleased with the quality and can't wait to try them out in the snow!

I got these for my mother for Christmas. Her feet are always cold when she walks her dog in the winter, but now her feet are staying much warmer than any other boot she has tried. She is in love and wears them almost every day since she got them! They are a big hit!

I usually wear a size 7 wide in regular boots. I have several Bean boots, and finally ordered these when they went on sale. I went down a full size to a 6 wide. I am beyond thrilled with these boots. They are so comfortable and well made, I live in them. The fit is perfect, and I was able to wear them right out of the box. They keep my feet warm and dry in our Adirondack winter weather, but aren't too warm to wear through the day inside . And the tumbled leather is so soft and comfortable I wish it was available on every boot they make. And they were here in two days!! I definitely recommend buying a pair. You will love them.:)

I wore these for the first time today - mile and a half snowshoe trek through the woods and then multiple snow removal events. I've never had such a comfortable pair of boots right out of the box. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a great winter boot. Trust the size recommendation - I didn't want to but it was spot on! Thank you LLBean!!

For everyday warmth, utility, durability, and comfort, I don't believe you will find a better boot. Im not sure how they will work for backpacking but don't know if it's made for backpacking. I intend to try it.

Ah man! I missed the sale and paid full price for my Bean Boots, but worth every penny! I was really apprehensive after reading everyone's comments about sizing and the big nasty seam!! I have really tricky feet, they hurt all the time, and most shoes are uncomfortable for me, and any little thing can be a deal breaker! Especially in winter boots! I live in sneakers most of the year, but needed something so stomp around in the snow through NYC winters. Something stylish that i can wear into work, too. Visually, these fit the bill perfectly! I love the tumbled leather, so soft, and i didn't need to break them in. Whew! Who has time for that? The arch support isn't too bad. I'll probably put in my own arch supports, like I do with any shoes I wear, as I have a bit of high arch. I followed the instructions for sizing when wanting to wear with a heavy sock. I usually wear an 8.5 in sneakers. In open back clogs i wear a 38. In regular clogs or European I wear a 39. My feet are normal width. Medium, I guess. I bought the 8M, trepidatiously. I convinced myself that I would be returning these bad boys because of fit, or the big gnarly seam i kept reading about! The fit is perfect. I wear them with my heavy winter socks, and I am cozy and warm, and stylish! The toe box is open enough too to wiggle my toes. Not cramped! Also, I cannot feel the seam. I CANNOT FEEL THE SEAM!! I'm so glad!! Yes, the laces are a little stiff, but they are waxed to make them waterproof, and will soften with use. I love these boots! They are perfect for NYC winters!! Just try them! I'm so glad I did!! xo

I love my Bean Boots! They are so warm and comfortable.

After reading all the back and forth on the sizing of Bean Boots in general, I decided the only way to figure it out was to head to the closest store and try them on. I normally wear a 6M and the "order one size down" thing didn't work for me, because Bean doesn't make many size 5M's. To my surprise and delight a 6M is a 6M in this boot, with both thinner and medium weight socks. No need for heavy socks because they are so warm. Great for walks on trails and the beach.

I live in Boston, I take the train to and from work, I walk in the rain and snow, these boots are warm, keep my feet dry, comfortable, and durable in the cold New England weather and snow storms. I wear wool socks and they fit well with them. They're so comfortable that I don't want to take them off when I get to my destination. They're worth the money, looking forward to have them for many winters here in Boston. LLBEAN you rock!!
