The fabric and construction quality are great. However, this shirt is enormous compared to other Bean shirts in the same size (I ordered a medium tall). I looked like a little kid wearing his dad's clothes. I will be returning this shirt, but I hope this issue is fixed in future years because I really liked the it otherwise.

I've been looking for a good quality flannel for a while when I decided to go with this shirt. I've had L.L.Bean stuff before and they fit well and the high quality was much appreciated. I'm a tall and thin guy so I always go with Medium Tall. I've bought items in this size from J Crew to Gap to Cabelas and on. I've even enjoyed well fitted sweatshirts from L.L.Bean and couldn't be happier with them. But I've never had something fit so wrong than this shirt. The medium tall shirt I got didn't even make since. Overall the shirt was a little baggy, which I thought was okay because of the traditional fit, although I thought it was still a little too baggy. And the length of the arms seem good as well, but the length of the midsection of the shirt was huge! It was almost down to my knees (literally covering up my entire thigh)! And mind you, I'm 6'4". How they think anyone would be able to fit that shirt is beyond me. They'd have to be really, really tall with short stubby arms... like a t-rex. So, I will not be buying this shirt in a different non-tall size, because the arms were good length in this size and they'll be for sure shorter in a regular size. It was a real bummer too, because the Quality was everything I wanted. Double stitches, nice thick material, seemed like it would last forever.

I first ordered a Medium, the same size in a different color I bought a few years ago, and the new shirt was GIGANTIC. I returned it for a small and the size disparity was even more gargantuan.

The shirt arrived in a wadded up mess inside a plastic bag! It was a huge, terrible, mess. I was so surprised by this - I just couldn't believe Bean Customer Service had packed it. I bought the shirt for a present so I have smoothed it out and refolded it. Hopefully, the wrinkles smooth out, otherwise I will have to iron it. I am only letting this go because I have NEVER had a bad experience with them before. Now, is not the time to change how you treat your customers check what's going on in order fulfillment, please.

this replaced the one i had. it appears they have gone to a much lighter fabric & of course raised the price.

Sizing on this shirt was ridiculously large. Ordered a large. Fit like a 2X. Returned.

Way to big, got a 3x was size of a 6x. Not even close to the right size.

LL Bean has decided to change the standard for sizing. Shirts are one size too big. I've worn a size large my entire adult life. The shirt I got from LL Bean is an extra large with a size large tag sewn in it. The most absurd practice for mail order is to start right off by sending your customers the wrong size and then charge them an extra fee to get the right size. Seems like a scam to me. Whenever I order a size large anywhere else, I get a size large.

After one wash shirt was very pilly and looked like guano, no where near worth the price i payed, do not order this shirt.

I know I asked for tall, but it is insanely long. I'm 6'4" and it wears like a Canadian dress

I absolutely love the color and warmth of this shirt but I cannot believe they are STILL having the same issue with this shirt being way too big. All of the 1 star reviews are consistent: the sizing is too big. Some of these reviews go back 3 or 4 years. Why haven't they corrected this problem yet?

Although the color is nice - blue with black -, this shirt is very flimsy and lightweight. My advice is to shop in person for clothing.

The shirt I received was more like a large than an extra large. Compared to others of these that I have gotten, the fabric wasn't heavyweight. As a decades-long LL Bean shopper, I'm very disappointed.

I ordered a large-sized shirt as a Christmas present for a family member, as per his wife's specific size request. But upon receiving the gift, his wife told me that the size was WAY BIGGER than the typical large size that they normally get for him from L.L.Bean. Consequently, they are having to return this item for an exchange (hopefully). :-(

Seemed warm and well made. Fit well in shoulders and chest. However, it was very big around the belly area. My husband typically wears a large with no issue, but this had a ton of extra room around the waist/gut.

After washing the shirt is no longer smooth but pilling all over. Not up to Bean's standards. It was a Christmas present for my huband. I will be seding it back.

Fit more like an xxl or xxxl, returned it for an exchange for a size down and now its saying I won't get it until june-july. Pretty disappointed to say the least.

I bought the original flannel shirt for my husband several years ago. My Dad liked it so much I bought him one as well. Both loved it and it was well worn and still holding up. So, I decided to buy it again for Christmas. The quality has gone way down. The new shirts are thinner than the ones that had been worn for years. After the first was and dry they pilled worse than a discount store flannel. I am extremely disappointed. I am embarrassed that I gave it to my Dad.

I ordered a XL and wears like a 2-XL. Had it dried cleaned before wearing :(. Way too big to wear. Should have gotten a Large.

So I scored it low because my husband had the same exact shirt from LLBean and it got a hole in the elbow. Haven't ever had that happen with a LLBean item!! I still have boots from you that I go on high school!? My son wears them now! Just wanted you to know.

My husband bought a MED Regular, which is the size he always buys and wears, and it was huge on him and way to long! We had to take it back.

The shirt was wonderfull feeling and looks- but the left sleeve at the cuff was not sewned together the machine had dropped the stiches for about 1/2 to 3/4 inch on the left sleeve surprised this got by quality control would add photo but review will not let me.

One wash and the cuff separated from the sleeve. I would not purchase this shirt

Don't buy! Ordered a tall and the sleeves were so short! Worst part of it all is I had to pay for return shipping.

Awful, large was like a 2xl. Listen, it's just a fact, LLBean just is not what it used to be.
