Most Hokas that I tried are very SLIPPERY - on stone or tile or hardwood they were like walking on ice. I even chatted with Hoka online and they acted like they'd never heard of this. I tried 5 different Hokas - Clifton 9, Bondi 8, Bondi X, Asahi 6 and Bondi SR - they told me the Bondi SR had really good traction but they all did the same thing. This video is on a hardwood floor - not waxed or anything. I did end up getting the Hoka Speedgoat 5 - goat sounded like something sturdy and they do not slide so much. I love the comfort and the colors but most of my house is hard floors and I can't see not ever wearing these shoes inside. Do people only wear them outdoors? I'm happy with this one as I don't feel like I am going to slide and fall.

I bought these because 1. I liked the color and style choice; 2. I had heard good things about this brand and previously "tried them out with a lesser-cost item"; 3. In my search for light weight shoes, these rose to the top. I read and appreciated other people's reviews before I purchased. My earlier purchase of the "Recovery" flip flops alone might not have prompted me to spend $150+, but the reviews gave me the encouragement I needed to try. And Zappos is great about returns, so I figured it was worth a go. My purchase was to fuel my new commitment to start trail running after about 30 years of no running at all.... for fun, fitness, and personal care. I always break my shoes in indoors before wearing them outside. If they make it through the first few hours of indoor wear, I feel confident to pass the point of no return and wear them outside. These shoes made the cut in only one full day of indoor wearing. Day 2 I took them to the street (not the trails) to see if my 30 years of not running could even tolerate basic street running. That was a success. A few days later, I did my Day 3 run in the trails. This is where these shoes really shined! I live near a hilly reserve of land that has marked and unmarked trails. Usually I wear my hiking boots to walk these trails. Today I was so impressed with the stability I felt in these running shoes that they were immediately a better match for this terrain than my comfortable, reliable and properly broken in hiking boots! Success. They are stylish, stable, supportive and also provide the right amount of cushion so I have not yet felt any sense of "pounding" while on my run. This was a critical feature for me. And they are soooo lightweight, I've already increased my mileage in a short amount of time.

I love these shoes...good for either day walks on pavement or hiking....fit comfortably in wide and colors not crazy like some Hoka shoes

Great shoes - my 5th pair. Their heel heavy design take the weight and pain out of my forefeet. Super sticky on rough slippery terrain - I know when it’s time to buy another pair when they start sliding. Not the best looking shoe but by far the best functional shoe!

This was my first pair of Hoka shoes! I love them! I felt like I had an extra spring in my step.

I’ve got several foot issues but these shoes are a great fit, once I added my arch support. The toe box area is wide and high enough. The heel area narrower and the top of the heel a little lower at the ankle. The tongue does want to slide down as I put my foot in, so I grab and hold it. The colors are great fun!

The shoes area very comfortable and a great blend of fun colors. I added my arch support. Around my heel, the shoe is a bit lower than I expected but my foot doesn't 'ride up' when I walk. Maybe because the top is soft, the toebox is high enough and very comfortable (which I need). Very comfortable.

These shoes are amazing! I got them for a trip to Ireland to wear on days when I didn’t want to wear my hiking boots. I think these had better traction than the boots!!! Highly recommend!

The footbed is not as cushioned as my previous pair, ergo the return

Lightweight and feel great. Use them for trail walking.

Just received. Bought them for hiking instead of hiking boots. So we’ll see. They are very comfortable & great arch support. Not sure I’d wear this on a really technical hike though. Even if not for hiking great for gym and working out.

Great fit. Got these to use for hiking instead of my heavier hiking boots. Vibram bottom was a big plus. They are sooooo very comfortable!! Just received them so haven’t used them for hiking yet . Will update review after Sep trip to Yellowstone & Grand Tetons.

These shoes are so well made! I have several pairs and wow they are so comfortable! The color is stunning!

After trying more than 4 different types and brands of shoes for taking extended walks this pair was an absolute WINNER!!!

Best show I’ve ever worn

Very happy with the Speedgoat 5. I finally found a size to fit- my usual size was too short even when I tried going wide (which was better fit for bunions but made the heel too loose). It turned out by going up a half size and getting medium width I was able to accommodate my foot best. This model works well on both neighborhood walks as well as light- moderate trails I take regularly. I'm happy with the tread on the sole which makes me feel more secure on the trails and the shoes aren't too heavy. I don't love the look but like the harbor mist spruce color the best. Comfort was key.
