Ok, I've got a wide toe box, narrow heel, high arches AND a high instep. Also, shoes frequently dig into the back of my heels...WHY do shoe companies make them pointy, and point INWARD? UGHHH! Finding shoes that fit is..."frustrating" to put it nicely. ;) I tried another similarly-priced running shoe brand that had wide sizes, but omg they were soooo ugly and they dug a bit into my achilles, making a blister. ! I wanted something with fun, bright colors to make my re-entry to running more enjoyable. I bought these on a whim, because they were available in my size and in wide. They fit JUST as well as that other expensive pair of shoes. Same amount of cusion and support. Same room for wiggling my toes. No annoying rubbing on my heels. AND they were PRETTY! I also love that the laces aren't too long or too short. After trying out 10 pairs of shoes, I started to notice these little things. Arch support is moderate, but I'm sure too much support is annoying for people with low arches or flat feet. Hoka found a decent middle ground with the insoles. If I wanted to swap them out for insoles with more arch support, I could easily do that. Honestly these shoes are pretty much perfect for me and work great on the road and the treadmill. Hoka is my new favorite brand!

WOW- these are AMAZING! I'm an avid runner and have worn the same running shoes for years. I'm always a 9.5 in my Nike Zoom Vomero's and pretty much any other running shoe I've tried (majority of time a 9 street shoe, sometimes a 9.5). In this Hoku I needed the 9. I'm a neutral foot and was looking for a running shoe that could serve dual purpose for an upcoming hiking shoe in the mountains. This might be my new all around running shoe as it was the most comfortable shoe I've put on. If anything changes after days of hiking, i'll update my review!

Love these for jogging. My favorite Hokas now. The Vibram sole wears much better than my other Hoka (Bondi & Clifton) outsoles which wear out quickly. Hoka Speedgoats are described as being for trail running but the lugs are great for road running too (like old Sauconys nubby outsoles). The uppers could use some better design color ways and graphics but comfort and durability wins.

My bad feet feel pretty good in these shoes. I have trouble with the balls of my feet swelling and thank goodness there are no ridges inside to bring pain. They are very comfortable and give the arch support that my feet need.

Nicely made, but had to return for smaller size. This style seems to run larger than other HOKAS I've had, that run more true to size on me.

I have bought a previous pair of Speed Goats and found they are very comfortable, fit well, and provide great footing when walking on hillsides.

I love this sneaker with the Vibram soles, as the treads allow less wear and tear than other Hoka kicks. The only issue I have is that the tongue ripped within 2 weeks. I'm disappointed, hence 4 stars for style. This is obviously a flaw.

Extremely comfortable and supportive. I was able to run 5K straight out of the box. My only complaint is that they are low cut so wearing my orthotic in one shoe made it feel that my heel was going to slip out. I was able to remedy this by lacing it differently but I thought people should be aware that they may not work as well with orthotics as other Hoka shoes.

Super comfortable and love the bright corral and blue. I get lots of compliments. I like a wide foot bed so I went with the wide. Wish there were more color choices in wide but love the colors that came in the wide. I did have to send the first pair back because the rubber piece that covers the toe started to pull away after a week of wearing the shoes (indoors or on sidewalks only because I wasn't ready to get them muddy on the actual trails.) Fortunately, Zappos is great about sending a new pair and taking back the defective pair. Hope these last a long time!

My first pair of Hokas and I wore them for the first time hiking Mt. Elbert in Colorado. The upper was super comfortable. The cushioning was excellent; I didn't feel a thing. And the traction was mind-blowing; I didn't slip once.

They fit well and are true to size. Wish that they had longer shoe strings. Never seem to be long enough.

Unfortunately all the Speedgoats after the Hoka Speedgoat 2 have deteriorated in one of their most beloved (by me) and recommended (by my ortho) characteristics - impact cushioning. I bought two pairs of the 2s several years ago (wish I had purchased more). Both have hundreds of miles on them today, and both are still more cushiony and comfortable than the Speedgoat 5. What it feels like to me is as though Hoka's product designers used an ice cream scoop to scrape out millimeters of cushioning out of the inside of the shoe, removing a teeny little more each successive version until there's hardly any left to remove. I could complete a half marathon with no foot discomfort in the 2s ... now with the 5, I can't jog or even just walk a few miles without resulting in sore, achy bottoms of my soles for days. No arch pain; just sole pain, sore from impact without cushioning. Please bring back the Speedgoat 2s!

Bring back Speedgoat 4! These fit poorly, too wide, and are not as well cushioned as previous versions.

What a great shoe. The thick wide sole grips the mat when exercising. And plenty of room for the toes. I will buy more. They might not be good for narrow feet, but great for me. I bought a half size up.

The best Hoka of them all. For me felt more cushioned then Bondi 7. May I need to break Bondi 7, but for now thinking to send them back and stay loyal to Speedgoat.

The fit is pretty good, my right foot is little bigger, so it feels snug. The design I love. The thick soles are not my favorite, but the color makes it not so noticeable.

After four months of moderate, neighborhood walking the inside of the heel developed a hole in the fabric which rubs against my heel causing a blister. I have probably walked, at most, 120 miles in them and now can't wear them because of the inside heel. Rather expensive shoe to have to replace after four months.

Great shoe for the money. Comfortable with medium width and a lot of cushion. I prefer these over the regular Hoka running shoes due to the grippy sole. Seems to last longer and provide more stability. I use these for everyday outdoor walking and have kept another pair for indoor use on the treadmill. I have yet to use them for hiking bc I usually like more ankle support but I’ll give them a whirl for that eventually too. IIIBe specific about your likes and dislikes. How was the fit and size? What does the material feel like? How awesome (or not) do you feel wearing them?

Hadn't tried the speedgoat D width before, and being between 8.5 and 9, I wasn't sure how much size the extra width would add to the shoe- ordered an 8 and an 8.5 both in D. The 8 was actually really comfortable, and if they weren't for running probably would have kept it. But they are for trail running so I needed a bit more length in the toebox and the 8.5 D was great. looking forward to it - love the traction.

I wanted to like these. I was drawn in by the stack height in the forefoot and heel, as I'm always looking for more cushioning. BUT the toe box is narrow. I don't understand why Hoka would do this to any shoe, much less a trailrunner. In a perfect world, I'd see Hoka offer a trailrunner that this shaped more like the Bondi...nice, wide toebox!

I love the color and fit but I have planter fasciitis and there is no Cushioning on the heels. My heels ate after 2 1/2 mile walk. Too late to send them back.

Fit and size great! A little loose in the heel but ok. They are very comfortable. I walk about 6 miles most days at a pretty good clip and they are like walking on air. Lovely! The only complaint I have is that the dye from the tongue bleeds color onto my white socks and seems to be a permanent stain. Not a deal breaker but surprising. Never had that happen with running shoes before.

I loved my Adida’s which these replaced but they don’t make them anymore so I decided to try Hokas

Shoes too big so size not correct; I did like look of shoe and especially the "tongue" which seemed smoother, less bulky than most shoes. I have been considering these for about 2 months so am disappointed. I usually wear the size I ordered but first pair of Hoka so maybe smart to go somewhere and try on before purchasing again.
