I finally tried these, after hearing great things, and I am so glad that I did. They are breathable and cushiony, with a very thin tongue for a secure fit. There's also just a little tiny toe-bumper (I'm sure that's not the official name) to help protect the front from abrasion. The vibram soles are nice and grippy. They are cushier than the other Hokas I tried, the Challenger 7, which I think will make them better suited to the rocky, root-covered trails I am usually on.

Hoka Speedgoats are my favorite hiking shoes. They come in wide widths which can be hard to find! I also have very low arches and the Speedgoats work great for me. They’re true to size and hold up well after taking a beating on the trail.

So comfortable.....And a perfect fit. Now I know why nurses rave about them.....plus, they're cute!

I bought these shoes for hiking the trails. I was amazed at how comfortable and what great grip they had. I would slide in my old shoes, but these made me feel like I had all-wheel-drive! I hiked a pretty steep trail my first time out in them and my feet felt great after. I usually wear a 7.5 in shoes and the 7.5's in these felt like a perfect fit. I went with the bright colors and am glad I did - they are super fun!

Great fit but the color was too BLUE. Looked grayer online

2nd pair which replaced my 1st pair purchased on Zappo a little over a year ago. Recommend especially for walking

This is my second pair of this style. I went through many different brands but NOTHING compares to the support and comfort especially while walking the Camino de Santiago, I was the only one out of 16 "experienced" hikers who did not experience blisters while walking 100 + miles. Great shoe!

I purchased the Hoka Speedgoat 5 for hiking in Yosemite. They were great for both sunny and rainy days. I felt a really good grip when hiking for 2 days. I wear size 7.5 for other Hoka shoes I own (Clifton 9), so I purchased the same size for the Speedgoat 5. I wore ankle fitness socks, but if I loosen up the shoes, I could wear thick hiking socks (e.g., Darn Tough socks).

I love this shoe. I need a stable shoe for trail walking. I am a former trail and road runner and have had several foot surgeries to repair damage. This shoe fits me perfectly and gives me the stability and comfort I need to start walking on the trail again.

These are my first pair of Hoka shoes. They are extremely comfortable! I would definitely recommend these.

Finally! I’ve been on a quest to find a shoe for trail walking that would provide max cushion for paved trail sections, and also arch support. These fit the bill perfectly. My final two choices were the OnCloudMonster and the HOKA Speedgoat 5. The rubber material in the tongue and heel of the On shoe caused friction when wearing around the house for 2 hours. The cushion was great, but I knew I’d be dealing with heel blisters and was unsure the hard rubber would “break in”. I’ve tried other HOKA shoes, but they did not have enough arch support. I know my new Sppedgoats will be just the ticket for my daily 6-10 miles on rail trail type paths with a flexible tongue and cushioned heel pad. ZAPPOS is the best, living in a rural area I’m grateful to be able to try several pairs until finding just the right one.
