My boyfriend purchased his first pair of hokas to go to a Zion trip. Shoes held up well we mostly just walked on flat surfaces and walked on some rocks when we went through the temple of sinawava. We then went on a second hike to Goat Lake in Stanley and the bottom threads were already peeling. I have owned hokas before and never had an issue not sure if it's just this specific shoe which is made poorly but I submitted a return and just got a fresh pair in the mail so we are crossing our fingers this time. I am thankful they exchanged the shoes because they are not cheap

Nice colour.
Not quite as comfortable as I had hoped. They are a bit narrower than I expected and the cushioning under front part of the foot isn't as plush as I has hoped. The thickness under heel seems a bit out of proportion with the front. I like a smooth, plush feeling throughout the foot.

Unfortunately these don't fit because they are too narrow. HOKA needs to offer these in both wide and extra wide.

Was happy when I first got them, but after two months of using them specifically as a walking shoe the top of the toe box ripped and kind of defeats the purpose of goretex. This won't stop me from buying Hoka shoes as I have three other pairs but definitely disappointed in this pair.

I love the colorway on this red Trail Code with the cool accent colors. But I will say the mid-foot was prohibitively narrow for my usually normal width foot. Even testing them inside the house, my foot was in pain and fell asleep. Disappointing, wanted to love these. Exchanging for a half size up and hoping that alleviates the width issue!

The rivets on the inside of the ankles are just covered with a layer of mesh. They hurt when I’m hiking. Hoka missed on this one- needs redesign. Using moleskin over them but it only helps for a day or so. Regretting this purchase. I have been wearing Hoka Clifton 8s for years- no comfort issues with the Cliftons (though they wear out way too quickly).

Comfort / fit wise these boots are good. What I did quickly discover though is these things do not breathe at all. It's only May here in Texas and my feet were boiling in these even with the AC blowing on them. Getting out of the car and working outside was miserable. In cooler and wetter environments these might be great. I'm currently in the process now of exchanging them.

My foot doctor recommended getting some Hoka shoes. I ordered the Trail Code GTX hiking boots in a beautiful blue color, men's size 8, wide, but they were way too narrow, especially in my problem area, bunion. Wish they made a wider size. The boots looked amazing, just way too tight for me, and going up to a larger size would have made them way too long.

Seemed small, particularly in the toe box which was surprising for Hoka. And, they don't make them in a wider width. Disappointing.

Feels large. I have foot issues. I ordered 3 different Hokas. This shoe felt huge. My feet & ankles ache. My feet simply didn’t feel comfortable in this shoe. I can’t say why exactly, other than my feet hurt.

The top two hooks for the laces rubbed on my ankles, could not adjust to get comfort.

I am still in the getting used to these hiker boots. I use them for a few hours to ensure my feet don't ache in the transition. My heels roll inward and I have to use a brace to support them as well as inserts.

Like the sneakers and a great coloration. However it had no back hook to help put them on a the top two let's do not have quick release hooks but only lace holes. I wish they had both.

I am a loyal Hoka customer for more than 10 years. I got hooked after my first pair of Clifton's and purchased close to 20 pair including Tor Ultras, Tor Summit, and Biondis,. I have both bad back and knees and they provide the most comfort with walking, working and everything in-between. I have had Tor Ultras (LI & Hi) over the past couple of years and they are the best. Since they are not available currently (Tor Ultra Lo, size 12E in black). So, I tried a pair of M Trail Code GTX but there is no comparison. They are just not comfortable for me. I do not appreciate the Olive or Red in the Tor's either. Can you help me get a pair of 12E in black with the same Hoka guarantees? Thanks Joe

Bought these for a trip to the smoky mountains to replace my other brand hikers. Wore them on the flight and noticed how they felt like they stuck to every surface. This was good for rocky terrain but the swallow tail was a major drawback. It kept getting caught on every little thing and Al,ost tripped me many times. Had to be ultra careful because of this. I like the comfort but this feature will turn me away from ever buying another pair with it.

Felt small ordered a 11.5 initially fit too big. I normally wear a 11 exchanged for 11 those were too tight. For weird 11 in Kaha's is perfect, not in these
I'd also recommend:

I am disappointed in the range of Hoka mid hiking boots this year. The toe box is too narrow and too shallow and the tongue has no lace supports to keep it from moving sideways.
