I was skeptical about buying this and the only thing I can say that I do NOT like is the big chunk at the back of heel. I have almost tripped and fell walking down steps or getting out of truck. Just be careful if you're not hiking. I don't hike with these. I work in all kinds of weather with slight labor and the ankle support is phenomenal. I've walked through puddles accidentally covering shoe and feet stayed dry. Definitely waterproof. I'm actually buying all the colors on this one. Best shoe from Hoka.

Didnt need any break in time, super comfortable, the sizing is accurate. Pretty much took them out of the box and hiked for 2 weeks on mixed surfaces, excellent grip on rocks and sand, wet or dry.

I enjoy all types of trails in all conditions. These were come for table and gripped well from the first trail. I also find these perform well with Snowshoes.

I like these so much that I now own 4 pairs in different colors. I'm a casual hiker that hikes 5 miles/1,000 ft to 20 miles/3,000 ft and these are perfect (for me at least). The price is GREAT for the comfort and support I been getting out of my Trail Codes and I will be buying 1 more color before this month is over.

I walk on flat concrete 8 hours a day. The boots I had before were leaving my feet overly sore. Now I get through my day walking over 20,000 steps and my feet are thanking me for much relief.

I have Multiple Myeloma Cancer and suffer greatly with neuropathy. My shoe are awesome. They give me the strength, stamina and stamina plus support I need. 15 year now. Neuropathy has been my nemesis. The shows give me confidence to carry on with my life without fear of falling.

The Trail Code GTX offer the signature HOKA comfort. Two issues: 1. The laces are too short. Are you trying to save money on laces? It is nearly impossible to double-knot these and they can barely be single-knotted. 2. It is hard see any justification for sewing on the pull tab horizontally. No other shoe under "hiking" on Hoka's website has the horizontal pull tab. This makes it difficult and frustrating to pull the shoe on.

I've been a fan of Hoka for several years. This is my 8th pair of trail running/hiking shoes. I only have a few miles on these ones so far but really like the fit and feel. I'm a huge Speedgoat guy but wanted to give these a shot as a hiking shoe.

The boots so far have been good, however shoes I purchased in April are misshaped with my feet falling to the side. Very disappointing.

I had to return them for an exchange. The top hook broke off after 1 week of wearing them. I am still awaiting the new pair.

Excellent support and stability, especially around the heel area. The Vibram lugs have good traction on gravel and dirt on the trails. The insoles that came with the shoes are flimsy and frail. I replaced them with cork insoles and now the fit and feel are just right.

The Trail Code GTX is not a light hiker like the Speed Goat, it's more of a trail hiking model.

Decently happy with the shoes. They feel a little bit tighter than I expected, to the point where i considered exchanging them for a wide version...which hoka doesn't make for this shoe. Other than that, they're what I expected from Hoka: a quality shoe.

We are going on a vacation where there will be cobblestone and uneven walkways. I injured my ankle once and it's prone to twisting. These stabilize my ankle and give me the confidence to traverse the walkways

When i wear them i feel like a blue-footed booby, which is a magnificent sea bird. Same sky blue color. I've had some slight issue with the left footbed which was sliding around a bit and adding an annoying bump to my arch. Then i realized that the footbed was moveable and started playing with it, moving it a little forward and to the left. After several tries i got it placed to fit the shape if my foot properly. At first it wouldnt stay put. Now after a week, it feels pretty good. These are the lightest hiking boots i've ever owned.

These are the most comfortable shoes ever. They are as advertised, a light weight hiker. I rated four stars because they are only a month old so I really don't know how they will hold up for wear. This is my first pair of HOKA shoes and I will be buying others. So far I am very impressed

Overall pretty comfortable even within the first few wearings. Slightly narrower toe box than I expected (compared to my Keens, anyway). Added Superfeet hiking insoles to get sufficient arch support. Doesn't seem quite right that you have to add $50 insoles to a $200 shoe - but that is the way it is.

I find the width to be a little tight, but they definitely do help my sore feet. These sneakers are very cushioned.
