Great shoes and they come in wide! I only wish they had a waterproof version.

I bought two pair and there suppose to be wide but there shoes aren't a true wide. I love the shoes but they hurt my little toe. I even went a size bigger.

The ones I bought fit my wide feet. And didn't hurt after wearing them all day. Perfect balance of traction and cushion.

After years of wear and tear on my lower body in the military, my current shoes weren't doing my knees any favors. After the first couple strides in my Hoka's I could tell the difference, good support and enough stack to take the knee pain away. Will definitely buy again.

This is my third pair of Speedgoat 5s and my primary training and race-day shoe. I have run numerous trail races with all the normal obstacles, to include roots, rocks, ruts, steep rocky climbs and wet/muddy conditions in which the Speedgoat 5s held up great with no issues. I especially like that they expel water quickly when completely submerged during water crossings.

I bought these as a gift for my daughter as replacements for her Nike running shoes. She absolutely loves them.

Great if the shoe fits but it doesn't. I was hoping there would be enough room in the toe of this shoe in a wide but no. Only Topo wide fit and Altra original fit work for me. There are other foot shaped shoes but none with cushioning.

These are great for hiking. Good traction and extremely comfortable. And the bright colors keep me from getting lost. :)

This is my second par of SB 5's. I use them for any type of hikes, White Mountains NH to basic local trails. My first pair lasted a year due to difficult rocky hikes. They breathe very well, excellent all around traction and comfortable. My only negative is lateral support when hiking on steep slides, can roll the ankle easily. Generally I will wear a more supportive boot if I hike very steep trails.

Love my Speedgoat 4s (wide) for trail running and racing I deal with a Morton's Neuroma in my left foot and with the limited number of stylish wide shoes I figured I'd snag a pair of the 5s for daily wear. Love the cushion, and the fit is good minus some slippage in the heel. The only issue for casual wear is the extended heel tab, which snags long pants. But given these are built for running and not many folks are likely to run in jeans... that's an understandable design choice. The only real issue is the flimsy stock insoles, which I replaced with aftermarket insoles, hence the four-star review.
Hoka, please offer more of your styles in wide! And please add some retro-styled casual shoes to your lineup... also in wide!

Why ???
It's so frustrating. Speedgoat is probably the best trail.shoe ever created. I know many wild agree. The tongue particularly has been one of the most common failures in most brand shoes when it comes to ultra running and the Speedgoat 4 tackled that misfortune on target as nailed it...a dream come true. I haven't felt that problematic cutting the skin discomfort by the ankle in many years til my first run a few days ago with the Speedgoat 5 in only 3 miles of running... minimum of course but I felt it there and that is definitely a situation for longer training runs and races. Then they eliminated the hook by the heel which is so necessary specifically during races when you need the most assistance possible to deal with shoes. Please bring the Speedgoat 4 tongue back!!!! Stop destroying the best shoe. Here I am now trying to find Speedgoat 4 in the internet and even considering other brands ....so frustrating still so predictable. Was hoping the whole marketing trend of changing shoes drastically for the next model wouldn't hit Hoka and the Speedgoat.

I've had two pair of the Speedgoat 4'a and three of the 5's. They are very comfortable, reasonably sure footed, and pretty much healed my heal and arch issues. They run true to size and are great out of the box. However, I seem to only get 130-140 miles or about a month out of them before most of the sole is worn bald which is disappointing given the price and reputation. I run almost daily including in winter with some snow and ice.

They are comfortable and maybe a little narrower than my Hoka Gaviota. 12 mile run in them yesterday, no issues, mix of trail and road. They do seem to wear quicker and quicker, I am a longtime Hoka customer and noticed I don't get as many miles as I used to.

I liked to run the dirt trails around my house in the SW Hills of Portland and wanted something lightweight, with good stability and "grip" and the Speed Goat fits the bill in every way. Good traction and something that is light makes trail running more fun, not to mention safe.

Looks good, feels good when just walking in them, but elastic mesh that's attached to the tongue starts rubbing on arch just after a few minutes of running, very disappointing because I was really excited about this shoe in particular

From the first moment I tried a Speedgoat 5 I fell in love with them and I think it will be my main shoe for a long time. My entire wardrobe of both trail and road shoes is from HOKA and overall I am very happy with the brand. I think I should be sponsored to test material by now, just kidding.
Still, I'm a bit disappointed with the durability of the upper. In both the right and left shoe, quite large holes have appeared between the upper and the midsole. This has been the reason why I have had to buy other Speedgoats sooner than I thought. Barely 300 miles has been the distance that the upper has endured. I hope these new ones last much longer.

I bought these Hokas hoping for comfort that lasts & they do not disappoint. They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn, and buying the trail-runners helps the outsole stand up to daily walks.

No break in period compared to my 2 year old pair. The tongue has been redesigned to be notched out which is comfortable but it's hard to hold the tongue up when slipping on. I use the stretchy laces. I also wish they came in subdued colors.
