Sturdy shoe but not nearly as cushy as the original Kaha. The 2 version has a much stiffer and less spongy sole that makes Hokas what they are ( or were ). Very similar to the Merell Moab in feel.

Very comfortable and waterproof. Unfortunately not very durable for the cost. I have owned 2 pairs of the original Kaha and 1 pair of the Kaha 2. The soles have worn quickly and have also come attached from the boot. I have used shoe goo and it has helped a bit. Definitely prefer the original over #2. Is there any way to buy new laces for the 2? Both have ripped getting caught on bottom metal hook. I want to love these boots I just wish they would last longer.

Hiking boot, supposedly waterproof, sole pretty stiff. Price kind of extravagant. My wife talked me into these, she has a pair she insists is like walking on marshmallows. A $90 dollar pair of Columbia boots right out of the box are more comfortable.

While this boot was true to size and comfortable I noticed after about 14 days of wearing them that the soles were not standing up to my basic hikes. I wore these on Oregon trails that were mainly pea gravel, worn dirt, or grass and noticed that the sides of the soles had started to tear up. Furthermore, I noticed that the sturdy Vibram lugs on the soles were wearing flat within the 2 weeks I had them. I have exchanged these boots for another pair of Hoka's the Kahana and I hope these will be studier. If not I will have to find my boots elsewhere especially at teh price of them.

Overall this boot is good but the tongue is way too short, the laces tend to jump above it.

As a 6' tall backpacking female who wears a size 13 woman's shoe, I am typically forced to the men's department, since manufacturers seem to think all women are 5'7" or shorter with feet that max out at size 11. I have been hiking in Hokas since first discovering the Evo Mafate 2 a year and a half ago, and they are magnificent! First thing I noticed is the shoe was surprisingly narrow for a men's shoe, which worked out to my advantage. Hiked dozens of rugged, rocky mountainous trails in these cushy delights only to arrive in camp with happy feet. However, as fate would have it, Hoka 'improved' this shoe by combining it with another model, which, imo, smacks of Altra Lone Peaks, which are aweful--too wide, zero structure/no support, and the sole compresses too much so you feel every rock. I digress. Back to this boot. I ordered my usual hiking size (I size up .5) and was so excited to try this shoe. It was enormous--way too wide, and the inside of the boot had no cushion--felt like walking on marble floors in leather-soled loafers. Sadly, they went back. After much consideration, I'm ordering another pair in my regular shoe size. I will add an insert this time and see if it will work to fill up the extra volume and provide a little softness. Fingers crossed. I really hope this is it. (btw, my feet are fairly wide by women's shoe standards, so men's shoe sizes are usually not too wide.)

Great looking and feeling hiking boots but I blisters on my inner heels in both feet after just a few miles. Very disappointed because I liked the boots!

I really like this shoe and wish I could wear it. I had to return them because I need a wide version. I'm hoping HOKA will make one soon.

I use HOKA to run in, so I figured this would be a smooth transition, but I'm having issues with a getting a blister on my right inside heel area. I've only worn them a few times and the furthest I've gone is a 5 mile walk. I'm hoping the more I wear them the less I'll notice the spot on my heel.

I love the boot, I hate the tongue on the boot. It is not long enough and continues to fall below the top lace.

I had extremely high hopes for this boot, with Hoka's reputation for comfort and cushion... well I really wanted to like them... but I don't. They are NOT soft and "cushiony", quite the opposite.. the soles felt hard and unforgiving. I have been wearing the NorthFace boot with "Vectiv" technology and let me tell you... these boots are more than TWICE as soft as the Hokas. I only found out how hard they were after going on a 2 mile walk... and now I can't return them because they're "worn". If you're looking for extreme comfort.. STAY AWAY from these

started off as a 5 very comfortable and warm .I was really pleased ,but boot didn't hold up unlike their sneakers. Toe box is seperating from rest of boot allowing water and snow to permeate the boot .I can now see the insulation at the toe box . Boots didn't last 6 months. I'll have to look for another vendor for boots.

I know the title sounds like a contradiction. I've used they on several backpacking trips at this point, probably totaling around 100 mile. I was research spendy purchases and while reading about this boot I saw a review that said they create blisters on the inside of heels. I assumed the person had the wrong size or bar socks or something and bought them anyways. I wanted a boot that had the comfort and lightness that made Hoka Ona Ona famous. On every trip I've taken these on and even some of the short break-in walks these blisters happened to me. Just like the comment said on the inside of both of my heels. I tried different hiking socks and lacing methods. I bought them in the exact size as all my other hiking shoes/ boots. Nothing helped every hike I have to ask my friends to wait around while bandage the large and painful open sores on my feet. That's the main complaints but there are smaller ones too. The tongue just barely gets past the top lace, sometimes slipping onto you shin. There's only a goretex version which is not worth it in drier climates like the south west due to reduced breathability. Finally the soft rubber on the bottom loses its grip surprisingly quick. There are some cool features like the swallow-tail heel for stability on descents and hoka's very high quality sole. At the end of the day it doesn't matter how cushy the ride is if your feet are being scarred (not an exaggeration). I strongly recommend waiting for the next model to see if they fix the issue.

I have been so sad since Hoka stopped producing the Stinson mid. I have metarsalgia and it was the perfect shoe for me. Was even perfect for the winter. Please don't get me wrong - I'm not dissing on the Kaha 2 GTX but, after a week of walking my dog my feet started to hurt again. I'm sure its a great shoe for some people but, this wasn;'t the one for me. I just ended up taking out the insole and putting into the stinson mid I bought years ago. Thanks

I have known Hoka shoes to run narrow and I have ordered wide and they are too wide for my foot and fit sloppy. I am going to wear these and try and break them in. It has been painful to say the least.

The left boot toe box was manufactured to small. It hurt my big toe and was to uncomfortable to wear for a second time. The boots looked like they would be nice to have if they didn't have a defect. Return service was great once I reached a representative.

I have purchased two different pairs of Hokas, speed goat 5, and transport, and was very pleased with them. Purchased the KAHA 2GTX for winter hiking @ walking, sadly the right shoe causes pain in right side of my foot .Feels like right shoe is narrower than the left. Very disappointed. I realize I am past the 30 day return.

I used to love Hoka's and some still do. All I ever bought after discovering them years ago was Hoka's. I've used most of the styles they offer but for standing on concrete all day these newer versions just don't cut it anymore for me. Sometimes I can make it about a month, before back pain returns. But they are way too expensive to replace monthly. I used to get another pair every 3 months roughly but now the support just doesn't cut it. Sad to say I'm off to find the next great brand!

I've been wearing these for less than a month and already notice significant wear on the sole. This is my second pair, was hoping the first pair was just a random bad sole, but same thing is happening to my new pair. I love these boots but can't afford a new pair every few months.

The Hoka Kaha Goretex was ordered as plush for extreme comfort. It was rock hard! The Goretex is supposed to be waterproof and that’s why I bought them. The shoe soaked completely through after a rainstorm. Very disappointed.
