The best thing about Hoka is their return policy. Sending the shoes back was quick and easy. That was really the only good thing about this experience. I was very exited to try the Hoka Gavoita 4 shoes as I have to wear running shoes with good over pronation support to avoid plantar fasciitis and I have heard great things about Hoka. I picked the Gavoita 4 because the Hoka website recommended them for over pronation support. These shoes were straight up dangerous as they made my ankles roll inward with every step! The exact opposite of what they are supposed to do. There is a little indention on the heel towards the outer edge formed by the gaps in the tread that hits in just the wrong way and causes my ankles to roll inward even more on every step. To the point where it feels like if I ran in them I would twist my ankle for sure. Additionally, the soles were HARD AS A ROCK. How can there be so much cushion in the soles and it be so hard? Zero arch. Zero mid-sole support. There was some heel support but since it just helps twist my ankle.. its not helpful. I followed the directions on the website to double check the size I ordered was correct. The best thing about Hoka is their return policy. Sending the shoes back was quick and easy. Its back to Asics Kayanos for me.

I heard great things about this show and wanted to love it. They're super comfortable and have a lot of padding but great feel. Wore them for a good number of days only to notice they're falling apart in multiple places. The back tag used to slip the shoe on ripped off completely. The bottom rubber is peeling. I'm going to try to return them.

I have heard great things about this shoes but I believe they are not meant for you if you are heavy set. Because of how light weight they are, they do not offer enough support

Wore once to walk and had severe foot, leg and back pain. And to make it worse the tongue gusset is basically a rubber band around your mid foot, cutting off circulation in toes. Return process is slow from shipping to processing a refund- took almost a whole month to get my money back!

One of the main reasons I spent almost $200 on a pair of sneakers was the pull strap on the back. After just a couple of weeks, the strap ripped apart today as I was casually pulling the sneakers on. The design seems obviously terrible upon further review and I suspect will often break.

This is my third pair of Hokas. The first two pairs were amazing and the same size as this new pair. All three are different models. This pair is not sized the same. Very uncomfortable. I tried to break them in, but that did not help.

My old Bondis are 2E, so I order Gaviotas in 2E and the are too narrow, so I reorder Bondis in 4E and they are too wide. So I finally reorder Bondis in 2E and the fit correctly. Why are Gaviotas sized differently than Bondis. Your sizing should be consistent.

The 2E is narrower than any of my D width shoes. The size 10 length is shorter than any of my size 10 shoes. The shoes were so uncomfortable I couldn't wear them. Returning for a refund.

I really wanted to like these shoes because I've had Hokas in the past and liked them. I am a front desk agent and I am on my feet, standing all day on a very hard concrete and tile floor for 8 to 10 hour shifts. I used the I used the "Shoe Finder" feature on this website to hopefully match with a good pair of shoes but unfortunately these didn't work for me. I tried them for a few days. They hurt my feet so bad that I had to take off work for a day, and couldn't walk for three days. Again, I really wanted to like these but unfortunately I had to return them in favor of a different brand.

The shoes made my balance steady. It reduces pain nor pressure on bilateral legs despite of long standing at work. However, I got gout attacked, I noticed this shoes is not recommendable, it was heavy, no alignment of my foot to my whole body.

Not sure what happened but the previous season models (Bondi 7 etc) were so much better. The new tongue design is awful and these just feel cheaper and less stable. Its unfortunate been a fan of Hoka for many years and this season lineup of the Gaviota and Bondi are not good. Cheaply made, not supportive.

The Gaviota 3 shoes were fantastic. When I got them, I was sure I would never wear anything but HOKA again. The Gaviota 4 uses different material, and the shoe wears out much faster. I would not buy the Gaviota 4 again. So disappointed in the decreased quality! Now looking for a leftover pair of Gaviota 3.

I did not like the experience of walking in these shoes and returned them. There is a great amount of cushon in the middle and heel of the shoe, however my toes felt like they were hanging off an edge of a cliff. To improve my posture when taking steps, I've been working on pressing my big toe into the ground and lifting up my heel perpendicular to the ground. These shoes felt incredibly awkward pressing your toes into the ground when walking. Your toes are too high up off the ground. Good looking shoe though. I guess if you just spend most of your time standing without walking great distances these shoes would work. They are very comfortable to stand in

At my podiatrist's recommendation about 15 months ago I purchased my first pair of Hokas. I previously have owned Asics shoes for the last 10 years. I loved my first two pair of Hokas. Great support and cushion. Fit my feet well. Felt like i was walking on big pillow cushions. Both those pair of Hokas I purchased from local running shoe stores - one in Rochester and one in Ann Arbor, Michigan. When I needed a new pair, i ordered a new pair on line and they are terrible. First, the sole feels much harder than my previous Hokas. But most importantly, they have a terrible edge that rubs my left rear part of my foot. I have felt them on both the right and the left side and the left side is much more pronounced than the right no such issue with rubbing on the right foot. So bad I cannot wear them. I have gone from a Hoka zealot and advocate to everyone I interact with, to someone who will not own another pair and will tell everyone do not order a pair of Hokas unless you can try them on. Very sad after being in love with my first two pair of Hokas.
