I had been wearing Hoka Cliftons starting with Clifton 4. I loved them. Went to my local sport shoe store for my third pair and they did not have my size. Purchased the Gaviotas instead since they were advertised as more stable. I hated the way they felt on first strike of each step I took. Very "clunky". Bought a pair of Clifton 8 online and am back in love with Hoka. They make me WANT to walk.

Cute shoes but even men's not wide enough to accommodate my bunions. Hoka, how about a truly wide shoe?

These were recommended to me by Hoka as an alternative to the Bondi 7 since I don’t like the changes in the Bondi 8. Disappointingly they were nothing like the Bondi and I returned them immediately. Too much support, too stiff, not for me but maybe someone coming from a different show would like them. ????

I was recommended by my doctor to get these, after a month I have noticed zero difference. Also they run small.

my shoe didn't come glued all the way and I had to glue part of it. I do not think i will buy hokas again, they seem to be different than they used to.

Wore this maybe 7 times, and the inside of the heel area scrunched and not is completely uncomfortable to wear. Very disappointed for such an expensive product.

Super comfortable and very supportive, but sole separated from shoe after wearing them twice. Company did a quick exchange for a different shoe and made it right. I did not exchange for the same shoe.

I usually wear a women's wide shoe but for some reason they quit making the Bondi wide enough so I decided to order a men's wide Gaviota. It is more narrow than my Bondi's!!!! I have multiple foot problems and Hoka has been the only shoe I could wear for years. But now I can't find one that fits and is comfortable. So disappointing!

I had been wearing a HOKA Bondi style for months. They were very comfortable and I wanted to update. I then purchased the Gaviota I saw online. I attempted to wear them for long shifts at work and they had my feet sore due to lack of cushion. I gave them to someone who has the same shoe size so that they would not go to waste. Will not purchase this style again. Will stick with what the Bondi if/when I make another HOKA purchase.

It seems to me Hoka changed their insoles, the newer model our not as cushiony and very irritating by the upper arch area. I guess I'll have to keep buying older models until they fix the problem

I love Hoka shoes and have bought them from the beginning. I prefer the plush style due to my arthritic knees. I was very happy with the previous Stinson but they were sold out in my size and I have hundreds of miles on them now. They have held up very well but its time for new shoes. I loved my older Bondis but thought i would expand my horizon with the new Gaviotas. I was actually disappointed. The feeling was much less cushiony than my Stinsons or Bondis The toe box was much narrower and frankly I would have returned them just for the lack of comfort. I am returning them and going back to Bondi. I hope the 8 is as comfortable as the earlier Bondi. Either way, i plan on sticking with Hoka if they are as plush as advertised.

The reason for return is that this shoe was advertised as having a stable bottom. I found that it was as cushy as your Bondi 8 . I was very disappointed.

Cushioning wasn't what I expected so I returned them. May be the perfect shoe for someone else just not me.

This is my first and last pair of hokas, purchased these after foot injury. They really helped and we're so comfortable. I had them for 3 weeks before I could wear them because my foot was in a cast. So after three weeks of light walking maybe 10 miles total the bottom of the left shoe fell apart. The store said I was past the return policy even though they are clearly defective. In the trash they went wasted 175 dollars and had to buy a pair of new balance. I wish I purchased them directly from Hoka instead of the well know store near my home, maybe they would of been able to correct the issue.

Since the one and only color I liked (black) didn't come in wide, I decided to go with one size up. That didn't work so I returned them. They are however plush. Not sure about the stability. All the shoe's you sell should come in both regular and wide sizes.

A little disappointed about the comfort. The right shoe has issues. The insert is high and sharp edge on the left. Do not know what to do about that.

Many rave about the Bondi as a great easy day shoe, walking shoe, work shoes for those on their feet all day. That may be true, but neutral shoes are typically not for me. "Gaviota is the stability Bondi!" So I thought I'd try them (I typically run in Arahi 9.5 wide). They felt really harsh. Thought maybe they needed a run to open up so took them out for an easy 5K. Couldn't wait to take them off!! Not the worst shoe I've worn, but high on the list. Hard, flat under foot, way too much volume in the upper, no trademark Hoka softness at all! Maybe I got a defective pair, but I returned them & wont try them again. I love my Arahi, but (sorry Hoka) these were a fail for me.

Shoe is too narrow, stiff ( says plush?), and feels just cheaply made from previous versions!

Be aware that the toe box of this model is narrow which might impact the size you order. You might wish, as I did, that I'd ordered a 1/2 size larger. Also be aware that this model shoe is quite still and less forgiving impact feel; maybe not the best shoe for walking.

Bought a pair 4 years ago & they were the best pair I ever wore. Returned my recent purchase because the fit was not the same and cushioning was not as advertised. Trying other manufacturers.

much narrower than the Gaviota 2 I had before, so I returned it. I need the stable platform of a wide sole. Ended up with the Bondi 7.

I bought these after returning Mach 4. Mach 4 - They were good for first/second run but after that my right feet inside area (from arch to big toe area) started to thrust inside the sole and didn't provide support. My feet started to feel inbalance. Gaviota 4 - They have good responsive cushion material and the frame. However the shape of sole is bad which makes the shoe thrust inside my feet. While running I can constantly feel something protruding in my feet. It's been a week since I've been running in them and I really want to love these. However, after every 30 min run when I take them off, I feel pressure released. I am also someone who have hard time finding a good running shoe. I've tried all of following and of all only Gaviota 4 came close to something good. Brooks - Adrenaline (same sole protrudes from arch), Glycerine (too soft), Launch (wide toe-box) Salomon - Predict Soc 2 (I love these but they don't have responsive cushioning. So returned) Nike - Epic React, Infinity, Miller (all these have arch too narrow and it hurts). Adidas - Ultra-boost 22 (I've been using them for the last 1 year. I develop pain after 4 weeks running in them, but overall they have given me longest mile) On - MonsterCloud (Just ordered them, I don't think they are running shoes, more of a lifestyle shoes) Saucony - their sole shape just doesn't fit me. I've tried different pair and they just feel wrong.

Over the last 9 months I have purchased 4 pairs of Hoka. I generally love the quality and especially the comfort. With that being said, 3 of the 4 pairs of shoes are already falling apart. Keep in mind, I use them for regular day walking, and in the treadmill; nothing out of the ordinary. I have to wonder if the company is trying to use lower quality materials, etc. shoes that cost this much should not be falling apart within the first 30 days of purchasing. I've purchased these shoes collectively across 3 different states: Massachusetts, California and Michigan. This makes me thing the quality assurance standards have lowered. It's very sad.
