I LOVED my CLifton 8 shoes I bought about a year ago. Definitely the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. They started to show wear and tear so I bought another pair of Hoka's, the Gaviota 4. They were no where near as comfortable as the Clifton 8. The cushioning was much firmer in the Gaviota 4 and my feet and ankles would hurt by mid-morning at work, which after a 12 hour shift is a very bad thing. Thankfully Hoka has a 30 day trial period and I was about to exchange them for another pair of Clifton 8's, which will be the only model of shoe I buy from now on.

Wanting to use HOKA shoes for years,I tried on Gaviotta 4 wide in a store hoping they will change someday, cause they all look comfortable from the outside.U see a wide, pillowy last ,but all hoka shoes have a big flaw. They are way too narrow in the midfoot and toebox with a hard ridge on the medial side that presses into the navicular bone and causes pain. How can a stability shoe be made for a foot shaped like a canoe, when it should be for a flat wide foot that overpronates.I keep trying new models cause the build quality is good with decent{not great}cushion.I love the J FRAME concept, its the best part of the shoe, much better than a medial post.I will keep trying future models.

Having recently purchased a pair of a Arahi 5, which has less stability and cushioning, I opted to snag a pair of Gaviota 4 for a little extra cushion throughout the week. Unfortunately these don't live up to the cushioning hype for me. They feel firmer than the Arahi 5 I alternate between. After a month of wearing, they haven't softened up and I've decided they're not an improvement for the price. Purchased another pair of Arahi 5 on clearance and they feel softer right out of the box.

Really liked the Gaviota 3. I'm an RN and on my feet for 12 hours nonstop. The Gaviota 3 was the best shoe I've ever worn for work. The 4 isn't quite as good....not sure what Hoka did differently but I just don't like the 4 as much.

The first two versions of this shoe, I wore a medium. The three's I needed a wide, and this one is too narrow as well. Nice shoe, but too tight

These shoes, Gaviota 4 are not as comfortable as I would have liked. My feet are still very tired after wearing these. It certainly isn't like walking on a cloud. I do lot of walking and standing and these shoes do not help. They are heavier feeling than expected. Overall, they are well constructed but comfort level just isn't there.

Toe box way too crowded, wish I would have retuned them instead of hoping the toe box would stretch out (it never did). My first pair of Hokas that I was not satisfied with.

This was the second pair of Gaviota 4's I have bought, and it is not as good as the first pair. It is not as cushiony, even though it is new. I still have the first pair, and the "ride" for my feet is not as comfortable as the first pair. Paying a premium price I expect a premium product, and that is what I got with my earlier pair, but I don't feel like that's what I got with this new pair.

Have had issues with foot pain and heard Hoka was the most comfortable shoes. Should not have ordered on line w/o trying on. I have very normal size, 9.5 standard width. The whole front of these shoes were narrow and very uncomfortable. Had a frustrating conversation on the phone with Hoka CS who replied that all their shoes would fit that way and no wider models would help. Returned and back to wearing Sketchers.

I really like the arch support of the Gaviota 4 but I don't like the narrow base. I have a pair of Biondi 8 and love the wide base. It appears Hoka has combined the arch support of Gaviota 4 with a wide base of Biondi 8 in the Gaviota 5.

This show was a lot smaller than I expected. The area around the toes was too narrow and tight. It felt as if the entire shoe was a size too small.

I use these for work which requires alot of walking. These are suppose to be "plush" which I take to mean would be very soft feeling and good for walking. Unfortunately quite the opposite. They feel very hard and stiff and not very comfortable at all. I own 3 other pair which are comfortable so this was very surprising and disappointing

I was really hoping to like these shoes but they were way to small especially around the toes where they felt a size too small.

The shoes themselves feel fine, but the build quality is not up to snuff. I had chunks of the tread coming off after a few months of wear. I've had other Hokas stand up to daily wear for a year and these lasted less than half that when being rotated.

Not any better than the last 5 pairs of Asics i buy older models for under 6 Sixty dollers so i don't see any benefits other than supporting another sneaker company making overpriced sneakers i guess?

There was no plush cushioning. I have several pair of Bondi 8 so I know about cushioning. This was very disappointing.

I bought these after loving my last pair of Gaviotas. However, the same size in these are a half size too small and at least a full width narrower than advertised.

I have purchased two other Hoka shoe products with good results but these shoes were very disappointing. I had ordered extra wide and a size bigger than I usually do but they were too tight in width and the length. This is the first time I had ordered on line. I am a ways from the Hoka store so I was hoping the online experience would work for me but did not.
