These run smaller than Arahis. Unfortunately, there's no size 16 available. So what's otherwise a nice shoe is unusable to me. Disappointing.

calves started hurting after first week of running. Caused blisters on several toes due to rigid material around toe area. Customer support (Kiaina) was really helpful.

I purchased a half size up on recommendation at the shoe store. The toe pocket is a little small and after I wear it for a while I start to feel it that it's a little constrained.

I tried men’s shoes since woman’s 10.5 wide was not available through Zappos. I could not find the correct size in mens. Had to go to the Hoka site to get the woman’s 10.5 wide. Hated to not use Zappos!

I'm on my fourth pair of Hoka Gaviota sneakers and this last purchase does not seem to match the previous one's . I walk 4-5 miles a day for exercise and have found that these Gaviota 4 do not offer the same side support and the cushion on the inner sole is not as supportive as the previous 3 I've used with great satisfaction. I'm not sure I will repurchase the Gaviota or if there is a good alternative in the HOKA line of shoes. I have a narrow foot and arthritis in each foot which is what drew me to the HOKA shoe line. The comfort and support I realized in the prior Gaviota shoes seem to have diminished in the Gaviota 4.

Fine shoe, not as comfortable and as much cushion as the Clifton's. The exchange process for Hoka was the best. They back there guarantee!

The shoe was smaller than expected (and this is the second pair of men’s Geaviota’s I had to return ?)
I'd also recommend:
Brand is GREAT. Size was smaller than expected.

Not nearly as comfortable walking in the Gaviota 4 as the Hoka One on One Bondi 7 and 8. I bought these for winter but returned them and ordered the Bondi 8.
I'd also recommend:

Good shoes but I've developed a sore/blister area in the same spot on the side of both heals!

Good shoe but i wish it had the arch wrap like gaviota 3 for extra support...Also the inner foam by the heel seems to rip open after a few months could be more durable... Also i wish they would make a another leather or closed mesh Gaviota shoe for the winter months as i use them for work

I've been wearing these for about 3 weeks now and two pieces of the sole ripped up on them on the same shoe. The other shoe is fine and the other Hokas I have that are not Gaviotas are still intact and I've put those shoes through much worse. Disappointing considering how expensive they are and how great other Hoka shoes are.

The sole is coming unglued and the mid sole is flaking. To be real I walk 8 hours a day and these are the comfortable shoes I've worn.

First, True Fit failed; I wear mens 8.5 4E in Brook Beast 20 and True Fit recommended mens 8 2E in Gaviota 4 which was too short, too narrow and too small in the toe box. Second, I have dreadful foot problems and need a stability shoe but my podiatrist recommended trying a rocker sole. I wish the Gaviota 4 (with minimal rocker and lots of stability) was available in mens 4E. P.S. I'm trying the mens Bondi 8 (even though it's not a stability shoe) as it is the only Hoka available in 4E . I'm sizing up to mens 9 4E.

I wish the sole was straight with no curves. The curve on the sole takes my hip out. I need straight soles not with that S or L curve Hoka makes on most of their shoes. Had to return them. This shoe also ran small, normally I wear a size 10 in men, but with this shoe and the Gaviota 3 I had to order size 11 wide only. They need to make them all with wide availability.

This shoe wearing hurts my right hip and low back. It has something to do about the "S" curve of the sole of the shoe. I like HOKA's, the height, the low 5 foot drop, but the shape and sole of the foot is curved too much, which then affects the way my hips move and it hurts me. I will have to return these because of this. I wish HOKA would make more shoes with just a straight bottom with NO "S" curve. I will try the Ricon 3 now, because the sole of the shoe doesn't look like it has the S curve. The firm cushion on this shoe was excellent though.

I bought 2 pair of Gaviota 4 within weeks of each other. However, My left Gaviota 4 heel on the second pair sounds like there is no cusihion on it. The left heel makes a hard flat sound when I walk at home. I've tried tightening and loosening the shoe laces but I still hear the hard sound of the left heel. I feel the left heel and it does give. Must be something deeper in the core of the left shoe. My first pair of Gaviota 4 (Bue ones) make no such sound, they're delightfully cushioned. I use both pair for walking only.

Multiple Repeat customer (6 pairs) and had to pay for expedited shipping(2-3 days). If you are a first time Hoka customer Hoka pays for expedited shipping. I think they have it backwards, reward loyalty.

I purchased this shoe for its support features. I found the toe box to be too wide for me. That's surprising because I am definitely a solid medium width. The ride a bit spongy. Annoyingly, I found my self having to tie and re-tie my shoes several times a day. Lastly, the toe vamp is separating on one of the shoes after a couple weeks of wear. This is disappointing as I own the Clifton and Bondi running shoes as well as two Mens Hikers (Speedboat and TenNine models respectively) As you can see I am accustomed to great performance from my shoes which why I have been a repeat purchaser. I will return these and pick up the Bondi or another Clifton. I'm really saddened that these didn't work for me.

Hoka's are GREAT shoes. I'm on my sixth or seventh pair of Bondi's and wanted to try something different. I ordered a pair of Gaviota 4 AND COMPARED TO my Bondi's they were flat and unresponsive. In all fairness, before I ran in my Gaviota's, I volunteered at a local 5k run, standing for three hours at a checkpoint, before I got home to put on my Gaviota's to go for a 5 mile run! Having said that, I still believe the Bondi is more responsive and a better shoe for me personally!
