I've just received my Gaviota 4s and I have to say, after reading all the glowing reviews, I'm a bit disappointed. They don't provide the support I was expecting and the narrow pointy toes are nothing like any foot I've ever seen. Do they think we were all born with narrow pointy feet?

I was training for the Honolulu marathon with version 3. I felt good doing 18 mile runs with them. But the bottoms we're getting worn, so I felt for the marathon I needed newer shoes. All I could find was Version 4. I did run with them and broke them in, but never felt as nimble as version 3. In the end, wish I ran with the version 3 in the marathon than the version 4. Felt not as easy and nimble to run with as version 3.

Shoe felt stiff without the cushion I would usually expect with HOKA. Will go back to the Bondi from HOKA.
I'd also recommend:

The shoe looks great. However, when I run, it feels a bit heavy for me. I'd prefer a lighter model. The fit and comfort are great.

I bought this on September 1st & have been real impressed by the comfort it has but the durability is not very long lasting. I am disappointed to see how fast it has worn out based on the price I paid for them. I am overdue for a replacement & it hasn't been 3 months.

I am on my 4th pair of these and they all repeat one of the previous issues. The Gaviota 4 has a better sole material and the cushioning is good. To me they feel short I always buy a 13 wide. At that size they feel shorter than my Arahi shoes and narrower. The next issue remains constant. The wear inside the shoe is terrible. I have worn them 60 times and they are already wearing through the inside of the heel. I will try some materials to patch the holes however I most likely will get more than 150 miles from them. As of right now I most likely will not buy another pair.

I'm usually a 10 so I ordered an 11 and they're still too tight.

This is my fourth or fifth pair and these are not the same. Much firmer, not hard, but not as soft as previous. A few years ago I received a pair that was so hard I just threw them out! Hola is just not as good as they used to be.

I had to returned it for an exchange for a wider model. For some reason the USPS tracking marks it as not delivered

Wish they would make larger sizes in wide as the standard width is too narrow.

Eyelet holes are a bit frayed. Stitching quality is a little defective. The shoes hey very warm on my feet in the summer. The shoes do not breathe well. The soles are very sturdy.

Received the shoes slightly used. Great for running, not so much for walking.

Wanted a stability shoe. I have flat feet, no arch and pronation. Shoes didn't fit the billing for stability.

I don't feel this model has anymore stability or cushion than the Bondi I returned. The right sneaker sole has considerable worn on it already. I was not able to upload photos or video- load circle kept spinning

Very comfortable and makes you taller not that I needed that but may be important to some. Only issue, like all sneakers is that you don't really know until you wear them a few times. I have a thinner foot and developing a blister on walks over 1-2 miles. Having to buy thicker socks. It is what it is

For work. Like the forefoot stability, but needs to be wider. Sad that I need to return.

It felt like they had too much drop. I have a injured foot though, so am sensitive to things like that. Wwnt to a Clifton 8 and it feels great.

Loved my Gaviota 2's, but needed a new pair for work in the medical field. The fit is quite different, so I am returning. Very disappointed as my previous pair were the most comfortable shoes I've ever had.

Doctor suggested I buy these shoes after a broken ankle to take pressure off my instep, after a month there's no difference.

The Gaviota 4 does NOT provide the same firm support that the Gaviota 3 provided. I've had chronic foot pain for years. The Gaviota 3 helped to relieve my foot pain and allowed me to become active again. I have owned 2 pairs of the 3. I was excited when the 4 came out but was disappointed when I purchased a pair, as does not provide the same level of frontal stability. I also have a wide foot and wear a EE. The 4 runs narrow compared to the 3. HOKA, please bring back the Gaviota 3!!!
