The down feathers shed outside the mitten. I only wore them for my daily walk, so no excessive wear and tear. I expect better from LL Bean

These are comfy, but the "Ultra Warm" is name is misleading. Even on days so far this winter that have been in the teens and low twenties temperature wise, my hands still get cold. Two of my teens have worn them and commented the same. We live in Minnesota and it will be getting much colder, so now I am on the lookout for new mittens that really are ultra warm.

I was snowblowing the other day, 1st time I used my new mittens. Waited for 2 years to get the black for just this purpose. It was in the 20's and my finger tips were getting cold after 5-10 minutes. So don't count on the warmth up to 25 below. They fit well and are very light weight. for that reason only they got the 2 star.

I was looking for something to keep my hands warm while playing with my daughter and dog outside. Unfortunately, these aren't it. After walking my dog for 15 minutes in 20 degree weather my fingers were very cold. Based on other reviews that these ran large, I got the size small. They're still massive. I was really hoping to like these but they've let me down.

Reviews indicated warm and helping hands with Raynauds. The lining is thin, and coming though to the front of the glove as lint strings. Some of the fur has fallen off. My hands did not stay warm any better than others that have performed as poorly and less costly.

I really wanted to love these, but there is too much fabric on the outer mitten beyond the inner lining, making it feel like your fingers are strangely extended. My hands actually fit very well in the inner lining, but the outer part was just too long.

The weather has not been very cold since I got these mittens. At this point, I'm not sure they will be as warm as I was led to believe. If they prove to not be warm, I will return them. The jury is still out.

I really like how warm the mittens keep my hands but the quilted stitching was coming apart as soon put them on. Now after 6 uses its come apart in 3 different places. I wore them otherwise I would return them. Very poor construction quality

First I must say these mittens are the warmest mittens I have ever owned!! I have only worn these mittens back and forth to work. I only live 4 miles from work. I save them to wear with my down filled coat in the sub zero weather. I have only warn them about 10 times and discovered that the quilted stitching is coming undone. Everyone says return them LL Bean is very good about making good. So that is what I am going to do.

My hands get cold shoveling snow so I thought these mittens would help. I was not outdoors very long before my fingers got very cold.

These gloves are indeed warm and attractive, but they were too long for our person who usually wears a medium size. Position of Thumb seems a bit too close to the wrist.

I was disappointed in this item because of sizing. Even the small size is too big for my average sized hands. Returning them and considering some other LLBean mittens.

These mittens are too long in the fingers and the thumb slot is too short! If this was corrected, they'd be great. They are very cute and seem warm. I have never had a problem with large size, ladies gloves and mittens before. I am returning these.

I found that these mittens had a thumb section that was too short, and a finger section that was too long. I have never had this problem before, so I don't think I have a freakishly long thumb or anything. They do seem very warm, though.

These are not warm enough for me. I wore them outdoors in 30 degree weather and my fingers were cold in about 20 minutes; they are pretty but not good for outdoor winter activities.

The thumb part didn't have holes to put in. They were all sewed together. Cannot wait to return them!

I have Raynaud's and bought these gloves based on another review that suggested they were warm enough for people with Raynaud's. I put these gloves on and the warmness was equivalent to wearing paper bags on my hands. They're very thin material with no fleece lining or anything else to make them cozy. I'm very confused how other reviewers find these suitable for colder temperatures because I found them to be drafty with barely any added warmth.

Not warm, thin material, I do not recommend if you are in a cold area. Fit was fine, I would not recommend these to a friend

These mittens are not warm at all and I will be returning them. Very comfortable and I like the fur cuff, but I need warmth in a mitten.

One star because they're cute. I received these as a gift and was looking forward to wearing them for the rest of the winter. However - these mittens are very thin (can't believe there's any insulation at all in them.) And I wore them to brush off a wet snow that had accumulated on the railing of my deck and they immediately became waterlogged. I mean wet. Totally saturated with water. Ugh. Definitely not worth the money. Just terrible.

I returned them because they were not warm enough for Minnesota in winter

I bought these for Christmas for my wife. Lovely but ineffective. Hands were cold in 20's to 30's degree weather. Most importantly not at all water resistant - absorbed rain literally like a sponge.

My one-star is only due to the poor guidance for fit. I measured my hand - 7 1/4 - so ordered a medium as it suggested. I have to keep my hands clenched to keep the mittens on. Unfortunately I have attempted to wear them enough that I don't feel I can return them. They seem warm enough.
