We ordered the therapeutic dog couch for Christmas 2015 and didn't even open it until May 2016 because of a home renovation. Our dog LOVES the comfort of this, she curls up on the bumpers but also sprawls out on the open section too. Unfortunately the one and only time we have washed the cover it became discolored, and we followed every washing/drying instruction listed. I know my dog doesn't mind, but for the price of $179 this should last much longer. I'm really disappointed in the quality and longevity of the cover.

I ordered this dog bed expecting the same high quality that I had with a previous dog bed from L.L. Bean. The mattress in the picture looks great. Unfortunately it was shipped to me folded in half and rolled up very tight. I'm sure that was done to save space. However, that pretty much ruined the mattress. It has a large lump right down the middle where it was folded and is a little too small for the cover. I thought it might regain it shape but so far it has not. The dogs probably won't notice but it annoys me to spend that much money on a dog bed and have it arrive in that condition.

I am disappointed with this bed. It was difficult to get the bolsters into the fabric and I am concerned that washing it would be a pain - I typically like to try and wash the covers once a week. Also my dog ripped a hole in the seam literally first night we got it (picture attached) or chewed a hole, she's not typically a bad chewer - the fabric doesn't seem very well constructed. I wanted to like this bed but I wouldn't recommend it or buy it again.

My 85lb Doberman ripped it. Certainly not that durable for the price.

This dog bed is way over priced and too difficult to assemble. Do not Buy!

I've had this bed in a large for several years and it's by far the best dog bed ever ! But it's enormous! So I thought I'd get the same bed in a medium -BAD IDEA! the medium isn't just smaller size the foam is much thinner and less dense that my large bed ! I can put my foot on it and gel the floor ! Thru 4" of memory foam ?!! My large is super dense memory foam and 5" thick -that extra inch means a world of difference! My 4 dogs all fight over the large size and I wanted a med for my retriever pup who is 47lbs but he won't even use it bc it's not the same bed as the large size ! The worse part is returning it would be super hard bc if the size of foam and the cost ! So I have to just eat this loss of $ ! I also bought a 40$ mattress cover to go w my med awful bed for a total of 249 $ in loss ! I write this to urge you to ignore any size under the large !!- the 4" foam is not even close to the 5" foam I said I can feel the floor thru the bed so what's the point of memory foam ? I wish I'd gone ahead and gotten the large bc it's worth the cost ! It's a dream bed ! But this is no better than a discount store bed , the quality is NOT Bean quality at all !

Very frustrating trying to assemble this dog bed . I am returning it.

I've been an LLBean customer for years. This is by far the worst product I have ever received. The material is more stiff canvas-like, rather than soft denim. After more than a half hour, I was able to stuff the side cushions into place. The whole reason for buying this bed was that the cover was removable and washable. That's not likely to happen very often when it is so difficult to put together. It's definitely a huge disappointment.

My Dog ripped this open within the first year and even though it is a dog bed it is not eligible for exchange due to pet damage. One of the priciest dog beds and did not last.

My pup is 80 lbs and she was drowning in the large bed. It took up as much floor space as a loveseat for people! I'm going to try a medium and hope it's not too small.

Not easily assembled and disassembled for washing.

I bought these therapeutic beds for my two older dogs (10 and 14). I am very happy with the fabric and construction. They are beautifully made, but my dogs refuse to use them. I've had them for almost 2 weeks and the dogs are sleeping on the floor and giving me reproachful looks. I disposed of their old, worn out beds. If you're going from a softer bed to the memory foam, keep the old bed until you're sure the new one will be accepted.

I would not order this again. Okay, it states assembly required but what a pain to get the side pillows in! We just received this dog bed and side pillows were absolutely ridiculously difficult to slide in. You have to slide your arm along with the pillow down the case which is so tight, it makes it impossible to get the entire pillow in. I would never order this again, especially at this price.

this is the 4th time I've had to write this review-everytime I do LLBean refuses to post my review...i'm not sure why? Here's the story: we bought four of these doggy beds. we love LL Bean and like to support the business as much as we can. We were disappointed to find out when we received the beds that they were made in china, but still decided to give them a try. the foam of the beds is exceptional, very firm, very durable. however, the fabric covering the bed is and inconsistent. We have 4 of these beds, all in khaki: none of the colors match each other. I'm not sure how they're sourcing the fabric, but it's poor quality and disappointing durability. in addition to color inconsistencies, the fabric started fading within a few months of ownership. we wash them with delicate detergent in cold water. Not sure why the color is so bad? anyways, the bed inserts are great, but the fabric on the bed is lousy and won't last long-term. we are so disappointed in the product. incidentally, if you buy the bed with foam, make sure to plan to cover the bed with a soft blanket. the foam is a very firm egg crate kind of foam that shows through the cover.

I missed the reviews that this bed needed to be assembled, a reminder to read the lower reviews as well. I knew as soon as I took it out of the box that it was a mistake! I would have simply returned it but the shipping was so cheap that I couldn't get it back in the box. The instructions are very confusing. Getting the bolsters and memory foam into the fabric case is indeed a workout and very frustrating. I don't know if I have the memory foam facing in the right direction, the wavy side up? It does not fit snuggly in the case. This bed was more expensive than its competitors and I will not be able to wash it. The dimensions listed are not correct, it did not fit as well into a tight spot as I had hoped. Doubt I will order from LL Bean again.
