The ordering mechanism states, "1/2 size order bigger". They are much too big after I did what was suggested. I am still trying to wear them and see if they can be comfortable.

Length was OK and overall construction seemed to be good, but it was quite narrow for a medium width.
Will have to return the item.

I WAS GREATLY DISAPPOINTED IN THE LACK OF A HEEL AND HARD SOLE, AND THE FIT. MY HIGH INSTEP DID NOT EASILY SLIP IN AND IT WAS EVEN IMPOSSIBLE TO FACILITATE WITH A SHOE HORN. DONNING THE SLIPPERS REQUIRES FIVE MINUTES OF MANUALLY WIGGLING AND PUSHING FOR EACH FOOT. AFTER THREE WEEKS OF BREAKING-IN AS SUGGESTED BY THE NOTE INCLUDED IN PKG, THEY HAVE NOT SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED. I HAVE NO COMPLAINT WITH THE WORKMANSHIP OR APPEARANCE. I REGRET MY NAIVITE AND FAILURE PROPERLY TO INTERPRET THE DESCRIPTION OF THE PRODUCT. WOULD I RECOMMEND THESE SLIPPERS TO A FRIEND? SURE, PROVIDED THEY'RE AN EASY FIT.

I received my first pair of these slippers as a gift several years ago. They lasted longer and fit better than any slippers I had previously owned and were very comfortable and versatile. Although I ordered the same size and style as the others were, these feel bigger and just don't have the same look as my other pair did. I don't know what they mean by hand sewn (unless they're describing the laces) because they certainly look to be machine stitched. If these pair last as long as the first, I'll be surprised.

I have been purchasing these slippers for my husband for at least the past ten years Just bought another pair recently because the last pair "squeak" like crazy. He always has one old pair and one good pair handy. He hasn't walked in the newly purchased ones, but very dissappointed with the last pair.

I've had a couple pairs of these slippers. I like the price, and the outside wears well. But, the inside does not. We need a better material covering the inside so the inside and outside wear-out together. They are plenty warm, maybe too warm.

These slippers are very well made and are very comfortable, but my bare feet get sweaty within 5 minutes and stay that way. I'd been hoping that with the flannel lining they would not be as warm as slippers with fleece lining, but they seem to have an extra layer of very warm insulation under the flannel lining. Too bad, given how well made and how comfortable they are.

These slippers are very well made. My son loved them. However, they are very wide towards the heel of the slipper. Not sure if he's keeping them.

Nice leather exterior with excellent cushion insole. But inner cloth fabric tends to pill. Most troublesome issue is how tight the shoe feels, even initially with no socks on. I have a fairly high instep, and it's impossible to comfortably wear the shoes with thick socks. They seem narrow and "shallow". This makes them feel too short (my big toe hits the top of the end of the shoe). The shoes are good for going outside to take out the trash, etc. and do keep your feet warm enough inside in cold weather.

Through the years, I have purchased several pairs of this type of slipper from LL Bean. The first pair made in the USA - fit fine. The other pair (or pairs) were smaller, so my husband had to wear thin socks till the shoes stretched out. But this pair is not worth trying to stretch out. He needs a wide shoe since 'medium's' are being made really narrow. He reports these new shoes are just Too Narrow. And they do not offer a WIDE size in this flannel-lined slipper

Info in the shoebox said that slippers may be snug but they would stretch over a short time to custom fit your foot. They didn't.
I'm returning them for the next size. Very nice, well made slippers.
Looking forward to getting the right size.

I wear a size 10 shoe, so I ordered a size 10 in this slipper. The length is perfect, but they are quite narrow in the foot. At first I thought I might have to send them back, but they did stretch a little after wearing them. Without socks, they fit just right, I just wish they were a little wider so I could comfortably wear them with socks too.

My husband has always worn a size 10. Bought these and his foot came out as he walked. Very disappointing.
Slippers would have been nice if the sizing was correct.

I purchased these slippers to wear around the house and keep the Northeastern spring, fall, and winters at bay. I think they are great slippers, but they have a major design flaw that I don't expect from L.L. Bean: the flannel lining wraps all the way around the heel, and after only 1.5 years of wearing the slippers only inside mornings and nights, the flannel and under-padding have worn away at the heel. If the liner used a piece of leather around the heel area, then these would be the best slippers I have owned and probably last a decade. But I don't expect an L.L. Bean product to wear out as quickly as a cheap pair of slippers sold elsewhere.
Construction: The construction quality is amazing. The leather uppers are durable and look great, I see no stitching issues, and the rubber sole is sewn on well. The inner sole has a good amount of padding, and after I broke in the slippers I found that they actually have a little arch support from this padding, but there is no solid arch support built in. The lace closure is more for looks than functionality. You cannot get much closure adjustment from tightening or loosening the leather laces.
Fitting: For me, they conform to my feet, and I often forget I'm even wearing them because they fit so well and are so light compared to other slippers. I take a size D width in my shoes, and these seem to be true to that width.

Well, my husband really liked these slippers online, so I ordered them. Unfortunately, the size 8 was too small and the 9, too big. Had to send them both back.

I ordered half size larger than normal 10 for 9.5 shoe. The right slipper fits fine, the left one - the heel slips. I guess I know which one of my feet is smaller. Talked to an LL Bean rep and she assured me I had the right size and to be patient and let them break in. I was tempted to try a size 9 to compare. I'll know if I have the correct size after a break-in period.

I've bought several pair of these slippers in the past, but the latest slippers are a narrower fit than they used to be. My foot is a little wide, and they don't really fit me any more. Too bad; I loved the old slippers.
I probably wont be buying them again unless LLBean offers wide widths.

This is a great slipper - very well-made, but I can't give it a greater rating because of the sizing. I had to order up a size for my husband's wide foot. It is not available in wide widths and the regular width is unusually narrow.
The flannel lining is thickly padded and causes the shoe to be more narrow than one would expect. I keep thinking they will stretch over time and become more comfortable, but it may take a while.
It would be helpful if these came in a wide width. However, shoppers with narrow feet should love it!

Bought these house slippers a year ago and they feel great and actually found them to provide support instead of walking around the house in just winter-style socks. However, the big let down now after having them for awhile is the laces are coming undone way too often. They need similar slipper without laces.

These Slippers have a new Memory Foam section in the lining. I ordered the correct size, but the foam lining caused them to have an extra snug fit, as if they were the wrong size, and will have to be returned.

The quality of this product appears to quite good, but the fit was bad. The website says "half sizes order up" . . . which is what I did and they would not stay on my heels. Since buying footwear without trying them on first is always risky, I appreciate L. L. Bean's guarantee of satisfaction and return policy.

I'm sure that they are great slippers if you are a skinny footed man. Why don't they make these wider??

While the slipper is comfortable, flannel liner seems to wear out very quickly.

These slippers are wonderful at first, very comfortable. However at least once a year I have to return them for a new pair as they wear out quickly after just mild use. The inside goes first then eventually the bottom starts separating from the bottom.
