I believe they will be a strong everyday shoe. Only drawback is I think they are a bit heavy.

While certainly stiff in both leather and laces out of the box, these were very compfy from the start and continue to be a few weeks later. They have broken in nicely and feel much more like a flexible shoe, while still having characteristic comforts that a boot may have. Once the laces loosened up they tie easy and hold well.

These have become my favorite shoes. I buy lots of shoes, always looking for the perfect shoe. These are about the closest to perfect as I have found. The fit is perfect, they're light, comfortable and my feet feel cool and dry. They're probably not the most fashionable shoes out there but I use them for work mostly. Still they look decent when I clean them up. They were comfortable right out of the box, needed no breaking in.

I really enjoy these shoes! They are very comfortable and while a slight bit large compared to other shoes, fit great with a cushioned insole insert. Just wish they were also available in black

This shoe remains comfy (according to my husband) even after much wear. Look good even with obvious wear.

Bought these to go along with Khaki pants. Had to be brown to use as part of a National Park Service volunteer docent. They fit well, are comfortable, and seem that they will hold up a long time while looking good. Nice shoes. I also need my feet to be warm at times as at times I have to stand in a cold place. Other times I'm in heated buildings, but they don't make my feet too warm. These re really good quality.

I was pleasantly surprised by these shoes. I had ordered and tried some new Bean boots a couple of ,months ago but found them rigid and very uncomfortable so I returned them. Thankfully Bean has a good return policy. I have also been in need of new everyday shows as well, so thought I'd give Bean's shoes a try and I'm finding them quite comfortable. In fact with almost no breaking period needed they have become my regular daytime wear. There is even plenty of room in them for my orthotics.

This is a great shoe. It can be worn with business casual, or just casual dress. It's a comfortable shoe, and the leather feels good and thick which might come in handy if I drop something on my foot. My pair is manufactured in Vietnam and the quality seems to be very good. So far my only gripe is that the laces come undone very easily, even when double-knotted. I'm not looking forward to summer, since these won't look very good with shorts...

Well-designed & -made; very comfortable; truly water-resistant (even when I stepped into a deep puddle); & well-priced. Do need to double tie because the thick, robust laces are so smooth that they otherwise become untied.

Good looking, good fit, very comfortable. The insoles come out (that's a good thing) so I can get my orthotics in. I don't have the lace problem others have mentioned, but I use a double-wrap knot and snug it up tightly.

I was looking for a shoe with a high enough rise on the heel to create a good fit. This shoe met those requirements.

I bought the Stonington Oxford shoes more for the waterproof quality than style, but friends are commenting more on the style. After a month of daily wear, the fit remains comfortable.

I am always hesitant to buy shoes on-line without trying them on first; but knew with LL Beans great return policy I had a safety net. These shoes are great; very likely the best wearing shoes I have had on in a long time. I wear them with jeans and have also worn them to work with khakis and a button down shirt. I wear size 13 and they fit perfectly, length and width.

The shoes fit great. Very comfortable. The only negative was the shoe laces. They keep coming untied. I think it's the material the laces are made of that causing this. I enjoyed these shoes so much I purchased the other style that was offered.Can't wait to get them.

Extremely comfortable on medium width to small width foot. No slipping on ice or snow. Good winter show.

This is my all-time favorite shoe. My shoes seem to last a long time. That's why I'm tempted to buy another pair now for fear they won't be available when I want another pair in the future. I like the style. They are comfortable and the dark brown color goes as well with jeans as it does with khakis. The only (and minor) suggestion I would make would be with the shoe laces. The laces are nice, round and strong and their contour is "ribbed," with the intent of providing extra friction so the laces stay tied. However, I find they don't remain tightly tied. I think a similarly thick, flat and waxed laces would remain tightly tied better because there is a larger surface area of friction. (I recall reading an article about this effect in connection with a running shoe.) I would add a sixth star if I could. Otherwise, don't change a thing. I trust this will hold up well under the snowy conditions of winter.

Fit as advertised. The color and texture was as displayed in the catalog. My first pair was missing the shoe laces. LLBean immediately replaced it and I am completely satisfied. Have worn the shoes to work six times with lots of walking. They are very comfortable and laces are super sturdy. Only one very minor negative. The brown color does show the dirt. No big deal as they cleaned well with a damp cloth. Very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend the shoes 100 percent. Another home run from LL Bean. Price was competitive with similar shoes from other vendors.

Good walking shoe with excellent metatarsal support.

Comfortable. I wear 10.5, Ordered 10.5 and they fit perfect. This is my 2nd pair of Stonigtons, I also have the Moc Toes . Those are also GREAT Both shoes have the same crepe sole, It's the perfect combo of spongy and supportive. I can never find shoes that feel good, it's pretty difficult. These seem to fit the bill
