For a while, I have been looking for a supportive brown to dark brown shoe. Most of the reviews indicated that these shoes were like walking on clouds. After trying them on, I found the opposite to be true. The customer representative indicated that this shoe had moderate support. I figured that I would put my custom leather insoles in them to give me the support needed to endure a day of work on my feet. After putting my leather orthotics in them, my feet still pinched in. Also, the soles on these shoes seem to be somewhat awkwardly large in proportion to the shoe itself. They just fit weird on my feet. The only outstanding trait on these shoe are the true to color brown. Unfortunately, I will have to take the time out of my busy schedule to return them.

I have nothing against the shoe, honest. It is just that I ordered a size 11 and received a size 9, but not only did they send me the wrong size, they sent me the wrong shoe--they sent me the Moc-toe version and not the plain toe, and the Mac-toe isn't even listed on their website. So I returned it for a refund. Crazy.

I love the look of the shoe, but the wide size rubs against my ankles too much. Had to order the wide for the bigger toebox.

The fit was relatively good but the shoes are too heavy, and the back of the right shoe rubs against my foot. So they were very uncomfortable to walk in for more than a few minutes and I don't wear them anymore. They're not cheap either.

Just gave these Shoes away after a year of trying to like them. The leather finish got extensively disfigured the first week after walking on a recently limed field. So much for a "respectable" looking waterproof shoe. They are much heavier than alternative waterproof hiking shoes (jungle Mocs) or athletic models. I will continue to wear Bean clothes which, with the exception of these shoes, are well made, long lasting and highly functional.

Very comfortable, no question about it. But the soles of both shoes are beginning to separate from the rest of the shoe. It is noteworthy that the soles are only Glued on, not sewn on, as the picture might suggest. What appears to be sewn is only a plastic facsimile. I have only had them about a month or so. I will probably need to send them back. Still love to shop with LL Bean, though!

Too high around the ankles. They rub and he could not break them in after 2 weeks working in the dirt so we can not return them now!

They actually look more like a workboot than an oxford. Kind of clunky.

Tread separated from sole on 2 pairs I purchased. Poor quality for the money

I bought the shoes because they cover both casual and slightly dressy. I normally wear 10.5 to 11 EE but I ended up with 10 EE which still felt roomy. They are a stiff shoe so to break them in I wore them almost daily for 2 weeks. They showed no sign of breaking in and I was glad to remove them each day - sometimes by mid-day. The heel and forefoot offer minimal cushioning which may explain some of the discomfort I felt. I wanted to like these shoes but I can't overlook the discomfort and inability to break them in. They were returned. Sorry LLB.

I bought these about 4 months ago because my years on favorite Traverse Trail Shoes had been discontinued. Naturally I used up every last drop of my final pair of Traverse Trails before switching over to these shoes a few days ago. They are very irritating to the front of my leg. I've cooked up a few work arounds while I try to decide whether to toss them out and look elsewhere, or hope they break in. I can fold back the shoe tongue, and when I'm not wearing them, I'm trying to curl that tongue up and back with binder clips. I think I noticed this when I tried them on, but it took a 5-mile morning walk to hammer it home...

This shoe quickly fell apart. The sole has separated at the tow after 3 months of use

I clearly ordered a men’s size 12. You sent me a men’s 9.5. I don’t think they were the right color either.

Love the color love the look. But on one of the shoes at the top, maybe a manufactures defect: uncomfortable/pain. Only in 1shoe.

Honestly i returned them. I was attracted to the idea of a classic leather shoe mixed with a sneaker, but they were just so rigid and uncomfortable my feet hurt

The sides come up too high and chaff my ankles. Very painful. This is unfortunate because otherwise the shoe seems well made. They will be returned
