I purchased the men's version as the similar women's version in wide width was out of stock. The in store employee was super helpful with finding the right men's size based on my women's size. These fit great and are doing well after a few moderate hikes!

I have now purchased two of these shoes and they are, by far, the most comfortable and long lasting shoe I have ever owned. All my future shoe items will come from LL Bean.

Comfortable and cushiony. Good support . They are good looking and and stylish , especially for a 72 year old guy that has to keep up with a bunch of very well behaved Grandchildren.

My early morning walks with my dog take us through a field that's often wet with dewy grass. I've tried several brands of shoes for this. Rockports were fairly comfortable but waterproof only on the bottom, so my feel would still get soaked. New Balance and Skechers felt like I was wearing concrete blocks. By contrast, these shoes are great. They get wet, but my feet stay dry. They're also snug, and comfortable with great support...and are less expensive than those other brands. They're great walking/hiking shoes, rain or shine. Don't bother with those other brands. Nothing works or feels better than these.

Shoes were easy to break in. Fit was true-to-size in both length and width. Sturdy yet comfortable. Strong support was immediately noticeable. Not too heavy.

I recently ordered my fifth pair of these shoes. For years I have used them to walk to and from my urban workplace (~ a mile each way), six days a week in all types of weather. They are hard-wearing and fit well. They do a good job of protecting my feet (well cushioned, stiff enough for uneven surfaces, good toe box). They are reasonably priced, and sufficiently innocuous for most social situations. They also serve well for travel and light-moderate trail hiking (although I wouldn't use them for serious mountaineering). With this level of activity, each pair lasts me ~ 2 years. The first thing to show wear is the laces, which I replace every 6 months.
These shoes are right up there with the LLB polyester mummy bag, their Adventure duffel and two-person mountain tent, and the two-burner propane stove in the pantheon of truly great outdoor equipment. Sadly, it appears that LLB has decided to discontinue this product. I'm not surprised - LLB often seems to drop (or seriously redesign) its best products.

Excellent fit, very Comfortable. For once my toes don't feel crowded. My little toes Thank you. I always bought 11w footwear, and my two small toes were being forced to make a bulge on the outside of the sneaker. It's only been two weeks in SC.

I've only worn these once on a 3 mile walk with our dog. They fit well, but were a bit stiff out of the box. They will be tested a lot more in the late fall winter and spring when I will wear them 4-5 times a week on 60-90 minute walks with our dog, usually in the woods and narrow streams.

Needed a comfortable but durable walking shoe with a waterproof liner. this met all my needs and was also a wide style that comfortably met my needs. Put it to use immediately on a trip into Canada and had no regrets.

I have purchased this model several times in the past years. They always fit perfect right out of the box. Decent waterproofing, trail gripping lug soles and nice style. The insole is rather basic so I have replaced it with the Smart Foot insole.

When I opened the box, my first thought was "rugged". Very well built and immediately comfortable. If you wear custom orthotics (like I do), consider going up a half size, as your orthotics will replace the very fine inserts that come with this hiker. The laces pull together quickly and stay firmly in place. No slipping with these grippy soles!

These sneakers are the most comfortable supportive shoe that I own. Although they are not waterproof, they are a great three season option.

Good value and fit. Needed to transition from winter boots to spring/summer so I bought these on sale to serve as my daily shoe without having tried them on previously and was happy to report the fit was right on (12D) and they are comfortable to wear. Would definitely buy again.

I have had several pairs of these. Wear almost every day from business to hiking. Comfortable and look good. I bought a new pair because the last pair is starting to show wear a little after several years.

I have a wide foot and it's hard for me to find comfortable shoes. Plus I like the outdoors and will find something to do outside most of the day. These shoes satisfy all my needs: wide, comfortable, very durable and my wife says they look good!
